Well, I think I will think my thoughts through now. I assumed the "2 games" you said were New Super Mario Bros. Wii And SMG2. That's because Nintendo's games have so much hype. A lot of great games go under a gamer's radar. I'm talking about Scribblenauts, (ESPECIALLY SCRIBBLENAUTS) Muramasa, Rabbids Go Home, A Boy and His Blob, and Drawn to Life 2. If people would stop hyping Nintendo's games and look for other talented developers, then more games would be noticed.
And rabbids go home, is just another shot at milking the "Rabbids" series they've got going.
My main problem with nintendo, is their lack of "hardcore" games. Those are a few creative little games. But not games that will keep me occupied for very long.
And not just that, they aren't that many to begin with.
So then end result is:
We've got a few good games, that aren't just that great, but are also being held back by an inferior console.
While the PS3 for example, has over 10 amazing exclusive, first and second party titles (which pretty much guaranties AAA quality) while having dozens of multiplatform games. And not just exclusive titles, but also creative and fun games, for the whole family. Take LittleBigPlanet for instance.
And while having those more "family friendly" games, it also has the shooters and multiplayer games for the competitive "hardcore" gamer. AND it's a blu-ray player!
Rabbids Go Home is completely different from the crap minigame collection games. And, I've never really known what ignorant means. But, if you think about it, it's mainly the developers (not the talented ones) that are just throwing a bunch of games together to make some cash. Yes, Nintendo has done the "wii" series, but it makes sense. The Wii has hardware limitations, but some people actually love the 2D games. Heck, EVERYONE loves them. The WIi-mote itself is fine. But it's not being used very well at all. And it's also not really a necessary controller. Most games can be played equally well with a regular controller.
Look at SMBB. It's better played with a GC controller.
And yes, the Wii is outdated. Most of the games on it look like late PS2 titles. The online is also not the best, and unreasonably difficult to use.

A gazillion mario games
The same amount of Zelda games...
Wacky motion controls, that aren't even being used properly in 90% of the games available.
A very low amount of AAA titles.

Of course the the firms copy each other.
That's how the market work.
Someone makes something. Someone else makes something similar, but a little different.
Nintendo weren't the first to make a console.
So they technically copied others, by creating their own.
And most of those innovations are from the developers side, and not Nintendo themselves.

But the "AAA" titles, released on it, come at such a slow rate, it's ridiculous.
The good games on it, are mostly the 1st party ones.
And pretty much every 3rd party game sucks, with a few exception.
So all in all, it offers nothing you could be interested in, unless you're an absolute Mario fanatic, and need every single game of him released.

Sigh... I hate people, who just bail out of conversations.
The controller might be good. But as you said yourself, it's barely being utilized at all.
The only game, worth mentioning is Metroid 3.
Plus, the controller needs an add-on to do what it was supposed to do.
So, the very selling point of the wii, the controller, is pointless. Rendering the rest of the platform obsolete.

But my conclusion was made by ONLY using facts.
Fact is:
The Wii is outdated. (the console) That is indisputable.
The motion controls aren't being used to well in the majority of Wii games. So the very selling point, does not work.
And the sheer number of AAA titles is also very small compared to the opposition.

They have a steady stream of AAA titles. Gameplay pretty much always works.
And the consoles themselves have better online, are HD-ready and can play DVD's and other crap.
And Nintendo doesn't seem to be doing much, other than releasing new crap for it, like the vitality sensor.

I already answered that. But here it comes again.
Sales, mean nothing. Why would you buy a Wii? What reasons are there behind it?
It's cheap. So people with bad economy, could buy it.
Nintendo's fanbase is also a reason. Many people thought it'd be awesome, and bought one as soon as it released.
I also heard from a Gamestop salesman, that most people buying them are Mothers and grandparents, who know nothing about gaming.

The WIi-mote itself is fine. But it's not being used very well at all. And it's also not really a necessary controller. Most games can be played equally well with a regular controller.
Look at SMBB. It's better played with a GC controller.
And yes, the Wii is outdated. Most of the games on it look like late PS2 titles. The online is also not the best, and unreasonably difficult to use.

Have, not necessarily better games, but good games, and MORE of them.
And you can always count on the controller working.
Whereas the Wii-mote might not be the best option for the games on the Wii. (Look at SSBB)

Erm... Entertainment value, is gained from the games on the machines. Not the machine itself.
And games are judged by the individual.
But fine, have it your way...
As I said, I can i no way tell you which game you will like or not.
But I do know what the majority likes. And the majority has said, that the Wii has fewer good games, than the PS3/360.
So even from an entertainment point of view, it still fails compared to the rest.

And sales/charts mean nothing. More people owning something, equal more sales. It's simple math.
And more people owning something, does not necessarily make that thing good.
By the majority, I mean the majority of reviewers. If you take a look at Metacritic, you'll notice in the top 10 Wii games, only about 2-3 games, are actual "Wii-games". The rest being multiplats, or ports.

By Multi plats I mean games like Rockband, that not only look and run better on the PS3/360/PC, but also play better, due to the superior online.
While the PS3/360 both have exclusives, and multi platform titles (games on the PS3, 360 and PC, but NOT on the Wii).
And if we check the numbers:
The Wii has 24 titles with a score of 85+ (AAA-class)
The PS3 has about 60. That's three times as much.
And the 360 has 72!

nah :P, i spent too much time here.. im not even a console gamer i quit consoles when i got bored of pick up and play games(they got a bit to simple after the amount of time i have put into gaming :P, same gameplay on games for too long now so got bored, im a PC gamer mainly now but i do try the next gens for a while b4 selling on, i much prefer PC now more genres and choice of gameplay styles and i like to make my own maps and mods on games too. consoles just seem too simple for me now
