What did Rayvonte do that a more athletic kid who's five inches taller and can play more positions couldn't do? I'd like specifics, if you don't mind. And I'd also like to know- again, with specifics- how him doing it at his house is relevant to actually playing basketball. I've made some shots at my own house that you'll never see in an actual game. Know why? BECAUSE IT'S AT MY FUCKING HOUSE, NOT IN A BASKETBALL GAME.

@doylerulz1 do u hear yourself?? ur talkin about how he sucked in an ALL-AMERICAN game. Playing with other ALL-AMERICANS that are better than him. He woulda killed anybody 1 on 1, but when its comes to the top guys in the country, hes not gonna do so well. But so far, i see him doing pretty well at Illinois. He will have no problem leadin the Illini at the U of I. And plus, if you woulda seen Jereme in person playing, ur opinion would definately change. dude is amazing.

I was at the game. Centennial played great. At the time, Waukegan was in a bit of a funk and Centennial wasn't. The Chargers, unfortunately, peaked at the wrong time this year. How is it talking shit about Rayvonte when I said I love his game? I have no doubts that Ray could've played in the Big Ten. I'm happy for him that he won the Gatorade POY. But JRich won Mr. Basketball, and that's the one that counts. (Gatorade also named Matt Vogrich the Illinois POY over Paul and Richmond last year.)

Listen, I understand you've got all this built-up teenage angst, I was once there too. But don't take everything so personally and misinterpret what people say. Ravyonte is a terrific player and deserved to be the Mr. Basketball runner-up. But it's unfair to both to compare the two. Richmond is 6'8" and can do everything. It's why he's an All-American. Rayvonte, like I said, is a scorer. And a great one. He didn't beat Richmond. Centennial beat Waukegan. It probably wouldn't happen again.

Rayvonte rice is alot better than this kid, rayvonte won state for my school last year as a junior. Richmond didn't. Also rayvonte had more points and rebounds the Richmond when we killed Waukegan this year. Yet the only way rayvonte can win Mr Basketball is if we win state again all because rayvonte is goin to drake and not Illinois!!

Doyle, Rayvonte is not as good as Jereme. And 3A basketball is not the same as 4A. Richmond almost carried Waukegan to wins over a Whitney Young team filled almost entirely with D-I players. I'm a Centennial grad and I LOVE Rice's game, but he's five inches shorter than Richmond and a pure scorer. He didn't have more boards than JRich in that game; he had, like, 4-5 boards and Richmond had 12. And that's the difference: JRich does everything. Rayvonte is a terrific scorer, but that's about it.

Danpon1 It would be a great idea if u could cover the Jereme Richmond vs Harrison Barnes match up on espn dec 17th. I would love to see some behind the scene interviews and coverage I know ur all over this 1:-)
