  • hey man, i just bought this crossbow today. i love the damn thing.

  • what a kickass song for this video

  • good bow

  • best crossbow , which scope u use ?

  • Why are you practicing with broad-heads?

  • @Submanca

I like to practice with the actual arrow or bolt that I will use to harvest Big Game.

I actually place each arrow in my quiver according to how well it flies.

They all tend to consistantly fly with slight differences. I figure every little edge I can get using a Bow is worth the effort.

Even the slight difference between field points and broadheads.

I also practice, in tall grass, uphill, downhill, diagnol and in different wind speeds in various directions.

    Practice is good :D

  • @anavidhunter I hope you replace the blades though, right?

  • o.O Respect!!! Very great grouping!!!

  • i shoot 60 yards and better grouping with my compound than you did with your cross bow i mean if you shoot good and kill a deer thats all that counts but make sure you have a lot of pounds on it

  • I'VE GOT THE POWAH!! :D

  • I didn't expect such accuracy from a crossbow at that range. Good shots!

  • mto bom!!!!!!

    a baletra e o som!!!

  • i have the same target i didnt konw you can use a cross bow on it

  • your really risking your arrows. That target is a 5 spot for a reason

  • I'm getting one of these! Everyone needs to get one just in case the government tries to take away our guns or limit our ammo supplies. In most states, you can get crossbows without registering them. What the government does not know you have, they cannot take away from you! IMPEACH OBAMA AND ALL OTHER GUN GRABBERS NOW!

  • Nice and good shooting. This is the way it goes on :) Five stars.

  • LMAO! Your crazy Canadian! Love your practice video! It has humor included. What else can you ask for. Good Hunting!

  • Thanks, you should always try and enjoy yourself out there. Let the good times roll!

Good hunting to you as well.

  • nice vid, I prefer my compund bow but hey it's just personal prefrence.

  • Hey, your way is even more challanging and closer to traditional hunting.

I prefer vertical over horizontal, but I use my crossbow because of the ability to be already loaded so I don't have to move and spook the game. I hunt on the ground without blinds or stands mostly, and I find that drawing the bow is very difficult. And when you travel and have limited hunting time, I can't afford to take the chance of coming home with nothing all the time.

Good luck to you and I will get a vertical bow

  • good video 5

    but i have 1 question

    how lb is your crossbow????

  • Hey thanks, and it is a 165 pound.

    Do you have one?

  • yes dont so powerfull

    150 lb

  • im buying a new one 225lb excaliber

  • Thats an excellent bow.

Its faster and more powerful than mine.

I just got a Velvet 3 by 3 Whitetail buck with my PSE bow last week.

    It was awesome.

Good luck this season and all to come.

  • Hey, cool vid and good shooting! I just bought a crossbow and am finding out how much fun they can really be. Once you get hooked man , its all over. All i want to do is practice shooting that damn thing..:)What are you going to be hunting with yours?? Good luck with your practice but you already look like a good shooter to me bro !!!Keep it up.

  • Hey thanks, thats great and I appreciate the good comments. You will have some definite advantages over vertical bow hunters. One thing I love is that you are less likely to spook an animal by drawing your bow for the shot...with the crossbow you can have that done already allowing for less movement before the big shot!

    ...

Good luck this year and all the years to come! Thanks again eh!

  • haha well i cant legally use a crossbow where i live..... unless i got get paralyzed!!! haha

  • Well don't do that...but maybe lobby for its use..lol.

It has just beginning to open up to for use in more seasons with more species becoming available.

We are fortunate here that we are aloud to use it for many hunts.

  • I hunt, Elk, Whitetail, Mule Deer, Grouse, Bear and will maybe come across a wolf or cyote in my travels. Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment too!

  • hey am looking to get a crossbow. powerful and accurate. what would be the best one for a beginner

  • Kinda depends on how much money you want to spend. If you want less maintainance, then excalibur is good cause it has a horizontal recurve with less moving parts. But you can get a bow like mine, which will hunt any big game and is a lot less expensive for the initial purchase, but will need more maintainance down the road.

It is also important to feel comfortable with it (weight and feel) cause you have to carry it and us it out there in the great outdoors!

PM me if you wanna know more.

  • powerful and accurate i would go with the horton realtree 175!! very very accurate and powerfull i have killed 15 dear in 1 season with it!

    its a great bow

  • Yes, the Horton is an awesome setup, but it is a lil pricey for some...but if you can afford it, I would get one..they are a great bow!

  • Ah thats a cool vid!!!Try at 80yds next:]

  • I did try one shot at 85 yards and I missed my block..ha ha..but I can make the shot now that I have practiced more.

It is no point in shooting at that distance...

cause an elk will watch the arrow come from anything over sixty yards and duck it at the last second if he hears you shoot.

My cousin watched an Elk dodge an arrow at just under 50 yards.

  • 40 yards? of course it is that accurate even a bow is that accurate!

  • Slope, and wind will always make even the closest shot more challanging.

And most archers will tell you that most bows are more accurate than a crossbow..just not altogether as easy to shoot.

I like crossbows, so I don't spook game if I do want to harvest by drawing and moving.

  • I didn't expect that much accuracy from a crossbow at that range. Nice job!

  • Hey, thanks for the good comment...and that was 5 months ago, now I can shoot even better. I can shoot within 7 or 8 inch bullseye at 60 yards now. Thanks again.

  • really? i thought that was really bad accuracy. i myself and some fellow compound shooters can achieve 2-3" groups at 40 yards. i am in no way knocking on your shooting or your equipment, i just thought it was better than that with a crossbow.

  • I have a 1" group at 20 yards, a 1-2" group at 30 yards, a 2-4" group at 40 yards, a 3-6" group at 50 yards, and a 4-8" group at 60 yards. I just got it (my first crossbow) this year and have been steadily improving. It is a low end PSE, and I would imagine that the higher quality bows will have improved accurracy. So many things factor in to make a good group. Do you practice in the wind...I did for this vid and my stats!!!

  • heh, I have a low-end PSE compound bow

  • Kule, is it a viper rattler?

  • no. not a crossbow, a compound bow

  • Nice work, that must be great to have! Very useful and very cool.

  • Nice video, but why do you shot 2 arrows and take then back then shot 2 more?why don´t you just shot all of them?

Ah,and how much is a crossbow like this?or where can it be found?

  • It would get extremely costly to shoot multiple arrows, as I quite often hit the same place and wreck the arrow on just a few shots even. I have seen them on the internet for sale for alot cheaper but I paid about $500 for mine. Any sporting goods hunting store usually sells them from $300 to $2000.

  • u r DUMB to use "broad heads" when u r shooting ur target u should use "feild points"...... its a fast way to ruin ur target

  • Yah...your right...but i don't like to practise with spit balls for bullets either. I would rather pay the money each year and be dead on accurate and confident when it comes time to aim at a real animal with a broadhead that I know flies good! Thanks for your comment though...I do agree

  • Dumb is a lil harsh though...I am actually more educated in this decision than most bow hunters of similar experience.

  • wow,omg if ur gonna be a pussy and shoot a crossbow at least be able to shoot straight. if ur gonna spend that much money on a cross bow why not shoot a compound. do something a lil' more challaging

  • I have a recurve, and I live to get out there and up and close with wildlife...thats the challange I like. I let most game go cause I am not the best of killers but I am the best of hunters. My crossbow is easier to kill with...more humane.

  • nice group

  • Thanks, I'm gettin better.

  • good second shot, i guess the wind was blowing to the left, you should have compensated for this or maybe the sight was off by one click. how powerfull is your crossbow >? draw and speed>?

  • 165#, does between 266 and 285 ft./sec. depending on what bolt and broad head setup I am using.

  • nice

  • I have that exact same crossbow! It is very nice. What brand bolts are you using in this vid? and what length? 17inch or 20 inch? thanks for the awesome vid

  • 17" and 20" ICS BEMAN THUNDERbolts with Muzzy 4blade Broadheads.

  • how much was it?

  • the bow was 4 somthin and I am into the whole setup for bout a G now. Bolts add up. I'm lovin it though.

  • Haha, loved it, nice job!

  • Thank yah kindly, I'll get the hang of it. Practice makes yah better.
