  • There is no such thing as MUST JOIN. It is up to the individuals or parents to file injunction and even damages against a government forcing them.

Clauses allowing Government to penalise individuals who assert right of Self Determinism (Article 22) are ILLEGAL internationally and a Human Rights Abuse.

PAP or any other Governments enforcing NS via penalty (abuse of Article 9 Declaration of Human Rights) are Undemocratic Human Rights abusers. Only rogue governments will deny exemption .

  • Dumpster???? LOL!!!!! So creative! And umbrellas? Hahaha!!

  • Much more interesting than the BS Gung Ho Army Ads on TV.

  • its so creative ! seriously....im singaporean but im laughing la !

  • This not in NS its the football changing room

  • and also all of them, except for one joker, wasnt even in their uniforms. so no harm in tat right??

  • LMAO!! lols, funny la :P comedians in NS..lols. anyways guys i'm sure they're not really disrespecting the president or something, just something you need to find to do while you're in NS,my bro's been in NS, and he says tt most of the tyme, there's a fuhreaking lot of time for them to waste, and activities such as these entertains them :)).. so i think little bit of tickle for the funny bone is no harm at all, right? :)) kudos to this guys, darn ass creative!!

  • singapore should be more open! i'm a singaporean myself, and I find this hilarious, especially when the president rolled in in the dumpster. it's nothing compared to all the shows that make fun of others who are inadequate (or somthing) in their own countries. We all should be as creative as they are! not as dull-brained as much of the "creativity-inducing" shows of singapore.

  • cute!

  • kudos guys.. i think we need to loosen up .. laugh a little ... dont be too uptight aye...

  • beats the crap on television

  • i know EVERYONE doesn't agree with all of the legistative rules set by our govt, but we have no choice but to follow. what to do? singaporean what.

if you say that posting this online is not wrong, sad to say you are wrong. once it gets posted on the net, the police have a right to arrest the creator of the video, and subsequently the people inside it. i know, cos my friend did something like this. luckily the people in this vid just got suspended.

  • i'm not discouraging nor encouraging this video. however you guys have to know, as citizens of singaopore, it is our utmost duty to follow the law.

  • ok, let me clear things up.

when we have fun such as these, there is nothing wrong with it. when someone starts videotaping it down, its still cool.

BUT, when that certain someone(hint) posts the vid on the net, things tend to get a bit hairy.

  • nice.. they gt six pack cool....

  • HAHAHAHA that was funny =)

  • Imitation is the greatest form of admiration.

Ha ha ha, oh well think the ppl who saw this video likely to be mostly boys.

In a female environment this is call "masak masak" make believe. Like little Cindy aspiring to be like Mum. Losen up guys :P

Anyways, hope you guys gets to take part in the next NDP!!

  • funny but they kena suspended sia

  • Haha brave heroes challenging the government

  • NO OFFENCE BUT I LIKE THIS..For once ppl, loosen up...I read the comments and for those who think that the guys deserve this, I think its an overkill...Creative humour at its best!it should have been recieved with an appreciative mindset..not all things go via black and white, there are some in the 'grey' areas too

  • shame on singapore soccer.. this are done by our own local footballers.. haiyoyoy

  • Funny!!!

To those who feel that this is a disgrace etc etc, let me tell you this - This video is an example of Singaporean pride - the will to survive in any situation! By making comedy out of their army life, they ease the tension of NS. For those who think that Singapore has "pride", don't fool yourselves - Look at our government selling our backsides to China - What pride is left?

  • HAHAHAHAHA.... it's cute! was smiling all the way watching it.

  • fucking funny.

  • they're no soldiers.look at their shorts.they have numbers.And this is a locker room.

  • Wow! The president in a garbage bin! Hilarious.

  • This would definetly win my vote if they participated on that creative skits show on CH8. The so-called "creativity" on the program are utterly pathetic and juvenile.

  • Imprisoned a year by the military for posting this? That's way too strict.

  • This is way superior compared to the Army Daze movie. With regards to the issue of embarrasment of the SAF, Frankly I don't see anything more offensive than many of the childish skits in Army Daze. The only diff is the perceived endorsement by SAF. Trust me guys, anyone seeing Army Daze would have an even worse impression of our Armed Forces.

  • lol..i don't get the joke ... =P

  • hilarious!

  • was lmao-ing. now i look forward to NS. thanks xD

  • Just Lame, Btw Singapore Army is useless.

  • to those people who don't get this video: GET A SENSE OF HUMOUR. Singaporeans complain about the govt being too strict with our creative process but we are the ones who are making it worse by imposing it on ourselves. Since the release of this video i haven't heard any Nsmen getting charged for making fun of our own culture. What's so wrong about laughing at ourselves? It takes some form of intelligence to perform a satire so KUDOS to the makers of this video! yeehaa.

  • YOU ARE SO WRONG! It proves to me that you didnt read newspaper lol. All of them either receive detention or get imprisoned for a year for making fun of Singapore.

  • seriously fk the army... i like this video 2...well army superiors only know how 2 push blame to subordinates anyways..most nsmen resent army

  • yeah all the regulars only know how to push the blame to nsfs who have no say, screw the army man!

  • good shit!

  • This is just a bunch of NS men who have nothing better to do....

  • Proud If This Video! Dun worrie any more complains from these idoits.... i use STAR21 to kill them!! wakaka

  • wakaka!!!

  • This was a retarded video but great to watch, why is everyone complaining?

  • They are so creative, loved it!!!

Hope that they r taking part in Singapore's culture creation process ;)

  • if they wanna play around, at least do it without video recording, they are asking for trouble. They are not kids, they should have known better about singapore strict laws. I say they deserve a harsh punishment for even bothering to record this shit down. By recording, it sends a message that im gonna show it to people.

  • cause of assholes like you s'pore is a boring place to live....y cant have some fun isit?

  • If im an asshole, then im a smart one, i will have fun without the autority knowing. The world is like this, those with status overrules those who doesnt.

  • thats why s'pore is like this, ppl tend to conform to the ideals of these governments...they speak of these freedom of speech...yet in s'pore you cant enev protest...oh nvm i can go on and on but it won't be of any use...go on livein' in the shadows..peace out..

  • wrong, you're only as smart as all those replying here. you're of 'equal' smartness, but still an asshole

  • I think this is a great way of stewarding ones time in National service. Putting such creative energy to use while serving the Nation only helps to give us the 2 years of experience our contemporaries from overseas have over us. Therefore this is an excellent way of channeling ones energy to better our country. Kudos to the guys who did this. Keep it up. Enhance the Singapore spirit, let the new generation fan the flames of the Singapore spirit and bring it into uncharted territories.

  • I personally feel that the worst kind of attitude to have, even not in relation to this video (which steps on thin ice), is when people shoot down ideas instead of thinking of ways to innovate those ideas. Why be so judgmental? There isn't any foreign comments here if you look, there's only Sporeans thinking that foreigners think this is disgraceful.

  • I tried to Google the words Singapore Army Videos, wondering if this video would turn up since it seems preposterous and a disgrace to many Singaporeans. Instead, articles that talk about Sg's condemnation of bloggers and the curbing of 'unsightly' talks about Sg turn up. Do u guys think that being so condemning is a gd culture that we should be proud of?

  • haha famous liao on newspaper ... but this is still a funny video

  • ppl ppl, it's juz a joke. y make such a big fuss? i'm a sporean. i dun feel insulted. i tink it's hilarious! kudos guys, esp e 'president'

  • Shouldnt mess with these stuff.

  • hahaha.. thats a good one. i would not hesitate to show this to my foreign friends.

  • what la post this video

  • Singaporeans need a bit of humor like this! ;-)

  • I guess this issue supports Neil Humphrey's claims about taking humour seriously.

Anyway, taking a video of such behaviour is okay. But posting it online was a grave mistake.

Hilarious anyway, these are things people would do for personal entertainment.

  • Nice !! Loved the part where the president rolled about in the trash bin >:)

  • young lions whooooooooooooooooo!

  • So after what MINDEF wrote in the paper, the lesson is unlearnt? It's so sad you call yourselves Singaporeans on an international website.

  • i feel that actually people from overseas have a very good impression of singapore... when i typed in the words singapore, the results turn up with videos like my memories in spore, etc... When i type Singapore national day, there are tons of videos that show spore fireworks and stuff. There is reallyno need to be worried that a lil vid like this will ruin the country's rep.

  • Although viewed as a satire the disrespect shown for the National Anthem is unacceptable and very sad.

  • Singapore is already a big disgrace with those fuckers in Parliament, what's a satire video or two?

  • A disgraced to SAF. A digraced to our code of honour. A disgraced to Singaporeans. A disgraced to themselves.

  • yea i think the guys from the young lions did this.

everyone exept the 'president' is wearing the young lions or national team shorts(red stars at the side).

and 'guard of honour' does look like baihakki.

  • This is a reflection of the cookie-cutter life that Singaporeans live and the environment that we are brought up in - conformist, stifling and rigid. These guys need some form of comical entertainment to release their pent up feelings and frustrations. But it shows that even in this stifling environment, there are people who are creative and innovative!

  • A parody on a national event such as the NDP is possible and could be tolerated by most, but there should be a limit and must have certain restrictions.

  • this one not singapore army la... it is in jalan besar stadium's locker room... cant u guys see that the ''guard of honour'' is baihakki khaizan?

  • btw mikefan89 you cannot judge by yourself that singapore army is hopless, there are some but no all. like ilovepennyflame said as everyone needs a good laugh! as you can do anything you like but as long as you won't get caught! but i can seem these guys really like to sign and do alot of extra until they ORD. Ho! Ho! Ho! wish them good luck and hope they are ORD soon.

  • mikefan89! in this world, there was nothing is perfect. So let it be! but i guess when you are serving your 2 yrs NS, and after your ord. you will find it very funny. cos it is life in army! haha!!!

  • pardon my typo, grammer. :P

  • To Mindef, good luck tryin to pin silly NS videos down, what are you going to do? send them to DB? To be honest... punishment is not the way to discourage such video made/posted; that beings us back to enforcment... Right doing does not lead to right believing. Right believing leads to right doing =]

  • National education is something not forced upon.. National education is something not learnt and then practise... National education is something that comes right from the heart... and base on this video, I think this country is build too much on enforcement.

  • brock855 - its true as i'm also part of it

I find it f**king funny as everyone needs a good laugh!

Those who don't have humor capacity for it can go eat shit!

  • mikefan89 ur a fool for saying that..u just fucked urself good.

  • singapore army is hopeless...

  • it will be a sad day for humanity if they're charged

  • wow! that;s funny!

  • I've seen this before, it was damn funny but didn't expect it to be on Youtube.com...and one more thing, those people critisizing the video, I think are just concerned that others around the world might think that the Singapore Army is not serious and stuff...Well, I'm just neutral about this kinda thing, merely entertainment for others...but if these guys somehow are charged for these acts, I'm not surprised.

  • XD WTH!!

  • The CO of the camp should step down from his position as he failed to displine his men.

  • the video surely doesn't reflect the maturity (which is different from open-mindedness) of the people who made the video right? think abt it, who would in the right mind would do a video that would mock or degrade the dignity of one's family? e.g. dad/mom, grandparents?

  • wat does my Parents or Mon gotta to do with this country?

  • kid, the analogy i'm raising here is abt things that we do which have the effect of degrading the dignity and sanctity of something dear, i'm just quoting 'parents' as a simple example out of many other examples.

anyway, case closed, I suppose some actions have or would be taken against the lads who posted the video.

  • Well... KID... If the CUNTRY can't take humor like a fascist-right-winged-effet-assholes as they are.. I mean even Parents and Grandparents are made fun of in the back alleys of our local jokes so what is the country?... I say Fuck em...

  • u've just proved my pt.

  • No you proved urself as a typical PAP-loving Singaporean robot parrot who echoes watever being taught at school without any critical thinking... Good job.. Singaporeans are so dumb today that they need foreign talents to fill the Managerial Posts.

  • why do u put urself down? ease up.. many years beckons for u.. do urself (and everyone) a favour and steward the time in ur (national) service well now. Ur energy here is admirable, but it'll be much better if u channel ur energy to better our country through ur creative spirit (just as u've said)

  • Thanks for the encouragement...

  • "mock or degrade the dignity..."

What are you smoking? 2 milligrams of that stuff would knock everyone out. shall i repeat what another has said?

well, little KID, u are a bastard who gets bashed up in NS right? oh wait you're gona go in and get bashed up for being so stuckup. its like saying some one who took the fruit knife out is intending to kill somebody... yawn?

  • anyway, the issue here isn't abt media freedom. You have the freedom to post your experiences, but when u mock something that's is to do with national identity and heritage, then it's akin to sacrilege.

  • "If a war broke out right now I bet you those same guys you see on the video would be standing up for your Singapore in a heartbeat."

I sure hope that it is indeed the case that these guys will put in the same fervour and effort (as they did in doing the video) when called to bear arms for the country.

  • I find that there's little wrong with this vid, if we were to slam down on every video like this there would be no media freedom, and it's not really an insult to the country, more like a parody of routine

  • Holy smokes everyone lighten up in here. As far as I can see this is merely poking fun at routine, not the country. And what about rules? Are they breaking rules by making a light-hearted video and posting it on the net? Sheeesh. And with the "never bite the hand that feeds you comment" what on earth are you smoking? If a war broke out right now I bet you those same guys you see on the video would be standing up for your Singapore in a heartbeat.

  • Very well said pogi5! I agree with you totally.. Everyone here should take it easy and find back their sense of humour..

P.s. I was laughing myself silly from 00:07-00:13 =D *Applauds all in the video for a job well done ^^ *

  • never bite the hand that feed you

  • There are rules ok... and the rules are in place to protect us. The Japanese have funny videos but they respect their country enough not to make fun of it. They love their country with a fierceness and pride we can only wish our people could have too.

  • haha...i thk it's hilarious...lighten up singaporeans...let's us once a while poke fun of ourselves...

  • haha, nice work. I dont think they should be punished to severly. After all, this video is creative and most important it is funny.

  • funny sia

  • I'm really disappointed in the response of people who think that this is a matter to be frowned upon. Look at the thousands of videos on Japanese variety shows, especially the one where they make fun of their own people who are unable to speak English. I wish the report was not so biased towards the official responses and made it seem as though the video is a disgrace, when it is all made in good clean fun.

  • i personally posted this video because i really think that people who complain that Singaporeans have no EQ will see a side of us that proves we aren't all nerds.

  • we shd look at the creative side ma..

  • That "president-in-the-bin" cracks me up!! But hope you guys would be fine, and i think you guys should be fine. You guys had your face covered up pretty well. I dunno if the Singaporeans would find it an insult, but it is funny.

  • Muhaha! I wished we were all so creative & fun loving in our active days! Keep it up guys! Once you start working, you wished you had more reservist to "keng" out of work :-) hehe

  • I think we should quickly upgrade to 6G SAF so that the NS period can be shortened to a few months. 2 years.... my god.

  • yup thats why im here

  • well....it made the papers headlines....

  • it's sad that we're disgracing ourselves. and dishonouring our own tradition. i think our national education has failed.

  • enjoyed it. good that your faces are not recognisable otherwise you'll be in BIG BIG trouble. Extras for all involved. :)))

  • funny sia...though it is a disgrace 2 singapore

  • Nah... the real NDP is more of a disgrace IMHO.

  • oh my God... The bit where the 'president' rolled in in a dumpster was just priceless. And somehow... very appropriate. :P

  • that was hilarious!

  • funny shit man..!! MORE MORE MORE!!

  • Recover Recover! Classic guys! keep it up!
