Google is amazing in the US the Acura Integra maintained highest hp/liter until S2000 which has the max allowed hp per liter for a legal street vehicle
the original version of this video played a huge part in me ordering a 97 b18cR over the 98 which was $1100 more... dropped in my dd EM1 perrrrrfectly 30000 miles later ( year n a half) she still feels brand new a testament to great engineering.. and i get on her frequently i enjoy every drive
my brother has a 98spec dc2 type r, square lights like d 1 in the video non circle lights. full service history, hes the 2nd owner any1 interested email me.
I own a red 92 Acura Integra DA9 B18a1 wishing that i had gotten a DB2 with a B17 DOHC V-TEC. My dream car of all time has been the DC2 ITR. Im going to get a 99' spec and do the J-spec conversion make the DA9 look like the DB2 nd the DC2 look like a ITR hopefully ill have the mula for all a dat. they will be sitting in my drive way on Sunday accompanied by some American Staffs. hehe.
Not sure if anyone's seen the new Ferrari promotional video with Schumacher but a graph in that indicates the new 458 will do 60mph to 0 in 32.5m (104ft). Bearing in mind stopping distance almost quadruples with doubling of speed I'd bet a 98 spec integra would be very close to matching that which is very impressive considering age and class differences between the two!
In fact, having come back to this while looking up some other info, a 458 should match this braking distance almost exactly. Got to bear in mind despite the age gap the front tires and brakes do most of the work. The Ferrari naturally has much bigger front brakes than the ITR but only 235mm front wheels which are only a tad bigger than the ITR's 215's. Weight difference is huge too with the Ferrari weighing almost 40% more...
Pretty much everything would be a straight swap but there's more than you'd think. For example the brakes mean also swapping the old 4x114 hubs to 5x114 98 spec. What I mean is with the money to actually source and buy all the bits you could just buy a 98 spec.
look at the time in the 400m, ALL STOCK, i always see cars with AFTERMARKET SHIT, like headers or powerflow, whathever, doing 15 segs in the 400 m, I CAN SEE NOOB PEOPLE!!!
Engine power does not necessarily determine which car's faster. Look at the size of a prelude engine. It's way too big and heavy. Let alone, the gear ratio for the h22 is much wider. The K20A from the dc5's are much smaller and lighter but puts out a lot of power for its size. Also, the gear ratio is much shorter, allowing it to use the upper rpm's more efficiently.
The k20 is by far, faster in a dc2 than even the old ls-turbo setup running at 7psi.
These models are beast. I really hate it when ricers paint the rims and the car, add lips and all this other JDM shit. No reason to mess with the exterior unless it's going to benefit performance.
INTHEGRA DC2 TYPE R IS EVEN MUCH MORE FASTER THEN DC5 INTHEGRA TYPE R. THE OLD CAR THAT HONDA CREATED IS EVEN FASTER THEN THE CAR THAT HONDA CREATE NOW. IS O SO BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE THAT HONDA MAKE USE.i always look down on honda engine that call i-vtec coz it is very slow but the old version engine that use on DC2 TYPE R call DOHC V-TEC. DOHC V-TEC IS THE BEST ENGINE THAT HONDA HAVE EVER CREATED
how come the type-r integras in this video have a different front clip then the normal ones. plz dont slam me if its a stupid question im just wandering if anyone can help?
Good clip but info on brakes sizes is not right. 15" brakes, I think not. That's 380mm approx (in the commie metric system and for people out of the US). Ferrari 360 brakes are 330mm. I think they have their conversions a bit up the f#@k.
I put metric measurement for people out of the US and was having a laugh about the commie thing. Jeez.
And by the way a standard Ferrari 360 has 330mm rotors f & r and I didn't mention any GT model. Anyhow I was only putting that as a comparison and to say that a type r doesn't have 15" rotors. So you may like to learn how to read at some point.
people that rip on type-r's dont even know the history of the car... in fact, probably only 1% of americans even know why they made a type-r production model. and people who like the type-r only like it because other people like it. I own a scion TC, and have followed the type-r since i was 15(21 now). guys gatta do research before making anymore comments.
they made them for people who want a daily driver that they can drive to the track, spank the fuck outta it and then drive it home wit no problems! its the ultimate comprimise
Wow thanks for uploading this video! Awesome vid. I'm always looking for new clips with information like this. So should everyone else. Helps keep the idiot factor a little lower ;)

Honda H22A Engine JDM Specs: Displacement (cc): 2157, Power (bhp@rpm): 220 @ 7,200 rpm, Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 163 @ 6,500 rpm, Compression Ratio: 11:1, Bore (mm): 87, Stroke (mm): 90.7 Honda K20A Engine JDM Specs: Displacement (cc): 1998, Power (bhp@rpm): 220 @ 8,000 rpm, Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 152 @ 7,000 rpm, Compression Ratio: 11.5:1, Bore (mm): 86, Stroke (mm): 86 So, do you still think DC2-R with k20a would own a DC2-R with H22A TYPE-S??
