cole porter. ginger and fred nothing like it will come again night and day so beautiful. only they could do it right no one in this day could compare to them.
Amazing scene. The dancing is great, but that's not why it's amazing. It's amazing because the dancing tells a story: Fred sings the song to Ginger and she's interested but not convinced. But then they start to dance, and between Astaire's choreography and Rogers' brilliant acting you can see her resistance breaking down as the dance goes on, until by the end she's totally smitten with him.
I got goose bumps watching this, and Cole Porter's great song, played by such a great orchestra. What more can be said? Fred and Ginger were the greatest dance duo!
Only one word to describe this... perfection!

Every time I watch this I swear I'm not going to cry ... and then I cry. As good as anything ever put on film.

This song has far more cuts and creative shots (through the blinds, under the table) than Fred would usually allow. Mesmerizing nonetheless.

I used to watch Fred & Ginger movies with my uncle all of the time when I was a little girl and I am only 34 yrs. Their magic is absolutely timeless.

Hahaha I love that, at 6:02. Fred wipes his hands as if *she loves me now*

One of their best numbers in any of their movies. Good to see that Ginger also doesn't smoke after...

Cigarette?
(In case anyone was even mildly unsure what this routine, like most Astaire-Rogers routines, is *really* about)

I have seen nothing, nothing at all, at the cinema more sensual than these dances.

"Please don't ask me to stay."
"Alright, I won't...Don't go."
That kills me every time. I love it. :)

@AAMLfan You are totally right, I love that part too..... Its so romantic... That kind of love doesnt exist any more, or its hard to find it I guess.

@AAMLfan It's the way Fred says it. He knows that he has a chance and is laying his cards on the table.
