The translation is not bad, and on top youre not a native german speaker (i think) ^^ But Ive got one issue. 'Weh mir' is more of an old(fashioned) german phrase. It can mean 'pain' in a few cases but a better translation would be 'woe is me'.

I think listening to the music coming out of a country goes a long way to knowing just  a little bit about their people and culture. This music is passionate and exciting, some times dark (but America has the emos). I am definitely a fan of Rammstine and their art...way to go Germany!

Rammstein are the best. This is a beautiful song. It's my favourite Rammstein track.....second to Mein Herz Brent. These guys play their music with passion and yessss they are playing here in Ireland next February......happy happy happy are the only words I can think of to describe how I feel about that. There is a special tough to the lyrics that is hard to convey in any translation.

Till Lindemann is using a very old-fashioned way of saying things here, like "Weh mir, oh weh" ("Woe is me, oh Woe") - that's almost ancient language nobody uses anymore, although it still "officially" counts as modern German.

Same goes for "Ich werde in die Tannen gehen", which literally translates to "I will go into the firs", not the "fir woods", that's archaic language aswell.

There are fare more examples !

It is rare. I am English and have lived in Germany for a couple of years now. People are still suprised that I chose to move to Germany.

Aber ja, Deutschland ist ein schönes Land. Die Leute hier sind freundlich und nett. Machmal gibt es Probleme, aber das ist genauso in jedem Land.
