Booooring cliche effects. Overdramatisized and little to no substance. The few technical points at the end are the only useful part. It is a great camera, no question, but this is simply not creative.

I think that Nikon cameras are superior in image quality, color rendition and sharpness. This is a good reason couse Nikon cameras and Nikkor glasses are more expensive then Canon.

i'm a d700 user, i agree with the slow FPS, but it has more MP than the D700 for better corping so it has its pluses and minus

Now...the question is: 5D Mark II or the new EOS 7D Canon camera?? Okok...it's true: theb 5D is Full Frame of 21'1mp but the 7D has 18mp and is more more more cheaper than 5DII. 7D can shot 8fps! and 5DII only 3'9fps.

Let´s face it, these are both two fantastic cameras. The difference in image quality are marginal also in the high ISO settings. Canon has higher resolution but Nikon is much faster (especially with the grip attatched). Spend your money on some NICE glass before you even think about considering these cameras. Like the 85mm 1.4 Nikkor or the Canon 85mm 1.2. Now that´s nice!

you know what blows my mind ? is when people say " oh Canon sucks and Nikon sucks " each camera is designed for different purposes, it doesn't matter if you have a Nikon or a Canon, your camera might cost $500 dollars or $5000 dollars, it all boils down to what kinda glass I'm i gonna put on the body of the camera.

You're not even close. The sensor is extremely important + how noisy it is and wether it's full frame or not... there are a million things to consider. You can't just stick glass on any DSLR and have perfect shots.

No, youre partially worng. I could run a canon rebel xs with a L series lense and get a good pic. you could run a 5d with an lseries and get the same pic, it all comes down to the guy behind the camera.

well if you talking about creativity then yeah it only matter on the person behind the camera, but for quality a bigger sensor and better noise reduction will give you better quality

Glad to see that someone gets it. Quality glass should always be the photographer's top priority. I can't believe how many people think image quality is more about the camera's sensor than the lens in front of it. Ugh.

nikon d700 cant record video and only takes photos with 12,1 megapixels.

The d90 consumer camera can record video. but at 720p. The canon 5d mk2 does it at full hd 1080p.

But i agree that nikon makes very nice cameras aswell.

5d mark II and d700 are really different cameras. for different photographers. 5d is a great studio camera, but it's slow, and almost basic compared to the d700. unless you need the huge amount of megas, you don't need the 5d. i love my d700, compared to the canon 40d that i owned before it! (yes i know they are different classes of camera) but WOW Nikon kills!

I Have the 5D which is now the older model and am very happy with the studio results it gives. I think I will hang back and se what the public response is to the 5D II and the pros and cons before I jump on in!!
