  • Amazing material... just positive energy...

  • God is an Astronaut + Rainy Mood = tranquilizer dart <3

  • Post rock seems to get better the more recent new it is i think pink

  • I remember all their lyrics! :D

  • awesome!

  • awesomeness decided to take a form in terms of music and this song happened!

  • @CoLOneLMidGeT Well... shit.

  • Man....I have heard some pretty profound music in my life, but nothing touches me and messes with my emotions like GIAA does.

It is incredible how their music moves my mood through extreme stages of highs and lows.

First time I heard "Frozen Twilight" I wanted to weep like a child.

  • For 39 people all is violent nothing is bright for em

  • study mode: on

  • Just climbed the highest mountain, and went flying around with Zeus.

Just zoned out so far i became the universe.

Just listen to this song and ull know!

    :D haha

  • shut up and enjoy the music

  • no one has a right to tell another how to feel or react to this or any other song. music is a personal and emotional experience and no song is better or worse than another. peace

  • @kepolagal But what if it's Justin Bieber we're talking about? lol

  • You can tell this is a good band because of all the awesome comments

  • That song is simply good people, it travels your mind and relaxes your ego and your feelings,

if you feel like rocking out it's not good for you. It's nice it doesn't have any lyrics, makes the music adapt to your feelings. It starts slow to reach your inner self and then bursts out to cure your hurt self-esteem. It's such a nice piece of music.

You should let yourself relax and then let it to the music, only then you would appreciate a song such as this ;-)

  • it's not that good

  • @barneeey with music its good to appreciate simplicity because in it there is still beauty

  • Anyone agree with me that this song is only good until like 3:10? After that it becomes pretty dull.

  • @TheGildedStar I agree, but that's what happens with post-rock. It could work as a post-rock's style definition: it promises, it seems it will be great but then...

  • @variopinto0000 what the fukkk duuuude? i fuck your definition. it promises, it seem it will be great an then...ORGASM!!

  • @JohnTheHunterDood hehe well I may agree but only for some specific bands or tracks. For example: check out Leech's The man with the hammer. I might agree in that case.

  • @TheGildedStar Disagree.

  • @TheGildedStar I agree, this came on during a post-rock playlist. Before this it was "This Will Destroy You", a much better band. This band is pretty generic IMO. I don't get any feeling from their stuff like I do with some other bands.

  • @TheGildedStar nope

  • @ali26101 actually wait yeah I agree 100%

  • This song makes me feel like I'm suffocating in Christina Hendricks's cleavage.

  • @ornjoos o.O

  • this song has distinguished itself for its psychedelic effect as it gives a new meaning to the name of the band

  • Κομμάταρος

  • I feel so empty. And full.

    No words can describe it.

I want to cry, shout, live and die.

  • gamato

  • αρρωστο.

  • Anyone else tired with people describing feelings when listening to post rock songs??

  • @HxcTufty Yes, people seem to go into "Trance" mode and express what they feel. It does get a tad annoying.

  • kommatara

  • @vanazook ελα η ελλαδα, παμε = )

  • @tsitokoritso xaxa etsi :D

  • it's just here that every comment has an strange "O"

  • lol

  • Hmm reminds me of something that was playing in the movie 28 days later when he started walking through the city in the beginning of the moving. Of course if this song was playing, he would have found him self total ok with the s*&#t storm he was about to enter.

  • I hope these guys tour in the US because they are blowing my mind, and I want to see them play.

  • This song makes me crave raisins. I'm going to go eat some raisins now.

  • producing music makes one feel powerful

  • Some time ago, a starving man who had been lost from civilization stumbled upon a town. Here, he was offered a special dinner by a sympathetic woman who coincidentally turned out to be the best cook around. The satisfaction his taste buds felt when he took that first bite is the same satisfaction you will have in your ears when you first listen to this song.

  • @CoLOneLMidGeT Then I just CHUNDERED EVERYWHERE!!!!

  • I started listening to this song (which I found randomly) and suddenly the clouds went away and the sun began to shine, I swear!!!

  • I just found my new euphoria. . .

  • I AM BAKED

  • Cover the world in permafrost.

  • ταξιδεύουμε....και δεν παύουμε....

  • LOVE this song

  • its time to revolt ~ all our pain & suffering ~ time for a revolution ~we need to change the world before we are destroyed by our own devices ~ strength in numbers ~ we need to fight back for what is right & what is true!

  • Who the hell is this band, they deserve a big fucking medal.

  • can't we all just get along?

  • this band is s nasty....

  • @crazyphil5

    go shoot yourself.

  • I hope my neighbors like this song.

  • i wish i was the only one knowing this song because it's everything that would describe all the shit inside my brain

  • check out the instrumental postrock band AND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR

  • büyüleyici...

  • This is keeping me alive.

  • Chills...

  • @SwirlyBrokenHearts Thank you for your input. I have to disagree however, you appear to have contradicted yourself quite tremendously. There is a middle, and an end to the tune. Things to note, the addition of distored guitars, and... the end of the song. If you were correct - that there is no end to the song, then you'd still be listening to it.

And quite frankly, songs like this shouldn't end.

  • @SwirlyBrokenHearts

You listen this music when you want to clear your thoughts, think existence and other things. My friend once watched shooting stars (about a month ago when there were over 400) and he saw over 20 and he said that it was one of the most beautiful moments in his life. I agree. No, this isn't energic music, this is for relaxing.

  • watch?v=drbXEbYZJbg Digam o que acham por favor, mto obrigado!

  • Awesome

  • this is the kind of stuff that makes youtube worth something

  • intolerance destroys music as mine....

  • God is an Astronaut is God !

  • this is what we were born for... music like this

  • Thank God they didn't ruin this song with lyrics.

    Such a beautiful song.

  • I love the progression of this song. Chill then slowly evolving into burn the world down around you.

  • You know, I don't care who does or doesn't like this. If I have to enjoy it all by my damn self, then I will.

  • Towards the end of the song I turn into a raging beast.

  • Explosions In The Sky is really close to it... lyrics would just spoil this music.

  • Why incredibly talented and original bands like this are not famous?

  • @grisevg Nowadays if a majority doesn't interest in something it's almost like it doesn't exist.People fail to see great music like this everyday but, something tells me bands like this prefer it that way.

  • O my god the way this song builds is incredible

  • I discovered this band recently. Gives me the feeling that my life has started from now on

  • I have a new favorite band.

  • @watsupdog4 me too bro :]]]

  • @A13XM22 <3

  • @watsupdog4 Try Mastodon or Gojira lol

  • I love the contrast and irony of the top two comments

  • I recognise this? But I'm not sure if its from a film? Or its because I haven't listen to this song in so long...

  • Stunning.

  • I love this. I absolutely love this.

  • no word can describe my feeling right now...

  • @justinlelk94 "Indescribable" does the trick quite nicely.

  • @justinlelk94 just like after very good sex? :)

  • wow... only a minute in and wow...

  • ...speechless.

  • we collapse under the empire as the explosions in the sky ring out over head as the remaining few chant out godspeed you black emperor for god is an astronaut and he watches down on us.

  • This song + Mary Jane + closed eyes = Wow

  • @jtraintheboss Quite funny, my girlfriend looks a fucking lot like Mary Jane, I need to listen to this with her. :D

  • : , /

  • mp3? mp3 remove silent voice.

  • does anyone use these songs to better themselves

  • @doreilly15 we all try ^^

  • There's some Worlds in Collision, I Ascend To Oblivion because Everything Dies, but there's still Echoes of the Suicide by Star ... And my soul is Forever Lost

  • i like the painting more than the song

  • 3:20.

    Orgasmic.

  • The time between 4:14 and 6:33 is for us to catch our breath back.

Perfection. We all know that God is an Astronaut.

  • Give me a minute guys, just going to send this to Nasa as to why we should continue to send people into space.

  • music stoped at 4:12 = )) what the fuck ??

  • @TheSicdic editing error by the author, the song isn't 6:33 long, its only 4:14

  • cant get enough of this song.. god is an astronaut really knows how to put emotion into their songs..

  • this would sound even better blasted in a room while hotboxing

  • One day when me and my friend were painting, he put on Mogwai, and it was the first time I heard it and thought it was amazing. I been writing a lot, trying to get a book done, and so I been listening to Mogwai. Then youtube recommended God is an Astronaut. Amazing! Listened to it for weeks, maybe months,, and now I find Explosions in the Sky, and other similar groups. Amazing music!!! It is all helping to raise consciousness on this planet!

  • @glenellisquinn11 I guess people who get scared If a song doesnt tell them what to think when listening to it.

  • @glenellisquinn11 listen to free jazz. they will tell you the same. but you're right. this is a masterpiece. art. from the heart

  • @glenellisquinn11 Old Granny - God is NOT an astronaut! *Dislike*

  • this is just pure music. so beautiful

  • Wow....just so...beautiful.

  • Wow.

    Um.

    Wow.

  • These guys really know how put so much emotion and feeling into their songs, its awesome. Definitely going to buy every singe album they released because there really isnt a song they've made that I dont like.

  • this song is fucking killer,, I start just about all my writing sessions off with it, cause it goes very well with the feeling of the story. Incredible band!!!

  • @glenellisquinn11 it is still a style, why have a right to dislike one style and not another? Also, aside from the style this isn't a great track in my opinion. Needs more cowbell..

  • Comment removed

  • @glenellisquinn11 It could be due to the quality of the song. Not all dislikes are from flamers. (I, personally, think the quality is fine.)

  • Other great instrumental bands related to God Is An Astronaut are Explosions In The Sky and 65daysofstatic. They introduced to this beauty of music.

  • @NathanSnyder13 Sorry, that was mean :l

  • @NathanSnyder13 Whether you believe it or not, there are other styles of rock out there other than metal. Not all rock is trying to be like metal, especially not this. God is an Astronaut defines its on style of rock. Its not even close to metal.

  • Comment removed

  • @semaj342 They are described as "Atmospheric Metal"... I just did a quick Google search. Other descriptions are post rock, neo-prog and math rock-- exactly like the other bands it reminded me of and why I don't like it. This style of playing is very exacting and has a completely different feel from other rock, even when it is trying to sound organic (like this). The whole mindset seems to gravitate toward a style of production I just don't like.

I only offered my 2 cents because someone asked.

  • @NathanSnyder13

I think maybe u are thinking about it too much, trying to classify it, and projecting past experiences with similar music on this. I hardly ever listen to any kind of metal, so when I listen to this, I don't have any preconceived notions of what it should be like, or what its "trying to be like", as seems to be a problem for u. It sounds extremely new and original to me. Gives me a spiritual feeling, sad, apocalyptic, epic, beyond what we have experienced in our history

  • Comment removed

  • @glenellisquinn11 Because they are waiting for the vocals to come in and tell them how to feel about the song.

  • honestly the bands name what got my attention but the song just backed up such a epicness of it.

  • @glenellisquinn11 Some might claim it's repetitive...it doesn't change keys at all. Definitely doesn't warrant a dislike though, that's for fucksure.

  • @glenellisquinn11 I feel the same way. Why bother clicking dislike-just stop listening and go listen to whatever it is your into. I have never seen a place where people argue over music so much or call different stuff crap

  • Discoverd this band now

    This is my favorite band.

  • @glenellisquinn11 well all those things that you just said are ALSO things that people want in their songs. i guess something like this just isnt their cup of tea but i dont see why anyone would dlislike this either.

  • I just wan't everyone to know that what goes wrong in the world, will definitely seize to go wrong as for a while as i'm listening to this tune.

It works every time! God is an Astronaut solves my day nearly no mather what!

Thanks for promoting REAL music! Pink Floyd can come to. :P

  • @glenellisquinn11

Some people think music without vocals is shit.

I'm not one of those people. I'm just providing you with a potential answer to your question.

  • i love dubstep, but this, this is on a whole new level. Haters gon' hate, but lovers gon' love, and i'm a fucking lover

  • fuck dubstep

  • @ianw10000 HAHA, fuck brostep you mean? dubstep is way too godly, just listen to 'archangel' or 'homeless' by burial...always gives me goosebumps

  • @ianw10000 fuck intolerance

  • @ObscureHarmonic *sigh* once again...fuck you.....dubstep is a cookie cut genre. If you like it thats fine.. but it's by no means creative or art. Get any basic music software and you can make it yourself. In summary, when compared to a song like this, saying fuck dubstep is entirely appropriate.

  • @DANCEwhiteyDANCE I agree i appreciate all genres and dubstep is more of a shock-and-awe kinda genre which is really fun to enjoy when you have great subwoofers and speakers. Most of these idiots consider Skrillex to be good dubstep when he absolutely sucks at it.Artists like Emalkay and Mt. Eden and a couple of others are the only ones who make good dubstep.Bands like Explosions in the Sky,Mogwar,Sigur Ros,Godspeed You Black Emperor,GIAA are something special

  • @DANCEwhiteyDANCE Nobody said dubstep was creative or original (though I think it is). I'm just saying you shouldn't bash that genre just because you don't like it. I'm not a Catholic but I don't go around saying "fuck Catholics" just because we have differing beliefs. Chill, dubstep's not going to get hurt you. I promise. :3

  • @ObscureHarmonic no he's right

  • @x612nt13 Not really. you can't be right on an opinion. Maybe you share it but that doesn't make it right. Next time, please try thinking before you post. And on a side note, even if you hate a genre it doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it. :D

  • @x612nt13 No, he's wrong. This world suffers from the lack of an understanding.

  • @ObscureHarmonic and fuck hate, fuck ignorance, fuck stupidity, fuck war, fuck insensitivity

  • @ianw10000

aww but I like chillstep man

  • This music sounds like background movie music. I like it.

  • @glenellisquinn11 It's just because it's different... Oh well.

  • @glenellisquinn11 there's nothing that pleases everyone .

  • Deus Ex Human Revolution brought me here, and i'm really glad it did.

  • @Flamechucks76 How? is this part of it's soundtrack? plase explain D:

  • @MrSottho I was listening to some songs by Michael McCann (Composer for Deus Ex: HR) and someone on the comments mentioned the band. Did a look up and then BAM! Here we are, appreciating the sounds of the astronaut.

  • @Flamechucks76 me to ! search for M. Mccann discography and found God is an astronaut and i take all albums .

  • @glenellisquinn11 Cause lesser life forms dislike or hate that which is confusing to them, and they're afraid.

  • @Totalimmortal93 Some of them aren't really "lesser" but over-all aren't tought or don't know.

  • Other bands like this are If These Trees Could Talk, Toe, LITE, Precious Fathers, My Dad VS Yours, The Bulletproof Tiger, Maserati, Red Sparrowes, Special Others, Cloud Archive, Everything Is Made In China, and The Mercury Program.

  • For the past year or so, my girlfriend and I love to listen to this group while we're in the heat of the moment. Now I find this song reminding me of her.

  • why haven't I seen these guys and Explosions in the Skies doin a tour? lol

  • ohh i just got the album, i start listened and i just feel like to go to the beach and watch the stars or something like that... im gonna do it!!! feels so good :D

  • The beginning sounds A LOT like Nine Inch Nails' "A Warm Place".

  • @glenellisquinn11

it is because people don't understand music like this. you have to have a certain attitude towards life in general to feel post rock. this is not supposed to sound arrogant but i started thinking people who are not able to appreciate the quality of this music never felt what life can offer because their hedonistic or pragmatic life style prevents them from looking beyond.

  • @MD91Load Absolutely Right dude !

  • @MD91Load

    don't be a smartass
