DLR/VH - sold 250,000 more tickets in 5 less shows than Van Hagar reunion.

DLR/VH - 4 of the top 5 selling VH albums were with Roth.

DLR/VH - 1984 sold more in it's first year than 5150 sold in it's first 8 years.

This guy is what rock and roll is all about. First and foremost, he's got talent. Without talent as your base, your just smoke and mirrors. Second, he's real. WYSIWYG. A lesser person would be fighting for guitar time on a record just to be able to say "yeah, I am co-guitarist with Joe Satriani". He knows he's not in the same realm. And third, he laughs, has fun, and enjoys life. You can just tell he gets worked up about nothing. And he can sing his ass off. What a guy!

I read Red and it's a great book. Sammy strikes me as a wonderful and genuine guy. I had never been a big fan before but he's truly one of the best. He's at the top of my "people I want to meet" list.
