In Yellowstone, the most dangerous animal is the bison. Lots of people underestimate them and walk right up to them and think, hey, cool, a buffalo, that's like a cow, right? But a bison can move very fast and he likes to stomp you into the grass and maybe roll over on you for good measure. Maybe he's angry about something. Maybe he's mad at how few of them are left. I still love to see them, though I keep my distance. It's the wolves I look for. I love them the most. So wild!
thought that was marlon brando..apocolypse now..there for a sec..lol..heart of darkness..cool..first time i ever seen a buffalo i was amazed at how huge they were.I.thought of how brave the plains indians were riding up beside them with only bow and arrows..you would have to be brave to do that ,,ive seen small herds in alberta,,but couldnt imagine thousands thundering beside you ,,riding horseback ..guess it was something..
My friend, the buffalo will return again. Everywhere on earth they return again. Ancient teachings of the Earth, Ancient Songs of the Earth, they return again.
My friend, they return again. I give her to you and through you will understand'll see you. They return to Earth.
Once they got the railroads in, they sold tickets on hunting trains. Europeans would sit in their seats and shoot buffalo from the windows. When everyone had killed one, the train would just move on to the next herd, leaving the buffalo to rot. No wonder there were Indian Wars.
Beautiful poem I agree so many animals are extinct and in danger of being extinct due to humans.

The warm sun makes the young run fast, and it makes the old sit down.
Chief Dan George
Being old allows you to think on things. Being young allows you to do things.
If only the thinkers could inspire the doers.
