  • The guy had to deliberately catch an ejector crab for this video. Props to him...

  • classic bow pair shenanigans

  • THE EJECTOR

  • here's a better tip: DON'T CATCH A CRAB

  • We watched the guy get ejected twice...

  • Feel bad for 2 seat, having to catch all those crabs for the video. Great video if you see the entire thing however.

  • I have a problem I am a novice rower and when try to set boat the oar keeps digging into the water. Even try turning the oar and it still dig. How can i fix this problem is it because my wrist is bending.

  • @pimpplayer91 There could be many things that is causing this. Although your coach/cox would like to make you think that it is solely your job to set the boat, it is everyone's job. Even the cox can contribute to the unbalance of the boat. If you are not rowing you could sit at your catch and put the oar in between your body and you knees while holding your rigger with your inside hand and by putting your outside hand underneath the end of the handle. :)

  • well my cox recently steered me into a vagina

  • i love this

  • the guy who caught the crabs was pretty skilled at doing them

  • Hahaha! I love this video!

  • haha my coach is the one who made this video, hes hilarious

  • I remember my coach made us watch this, we couldn't help but laugh.

  • The video is so bad, its funny!

  • i LOVE watching the safety video hahahah

  • loool

  • ahahahahahahahahahah

    that makes my life.

  • never seen it in real life but i want to especially my stroke front row seat!!

  • this seriously almost happened to me today. we took out an 8, and im a coxswain/rower, but since i was rowing, our novice coxswain took us out, and he wasnt paying attention and hit a bouy, and my handle lifted me out of my foot stretcher, and i caught myself with my legs on starboard side, and body over port side. completely sideways.

  • lol this vid was hilarious in general. the whole moovie was laughin

  • wow, look at the oars they're using...lol

  • well my cox steered us into a tree and we got stuck

  • Recently, our cox steered us directly into a bridge pillar, snapping the boat and sending 9 people into the CT river.

  • at about 6 races iv been in sm 1 has got ejected.. some 1 in my boat almost did to but got smacked in the face with the ore

  • this is my most favorite video ever.

  • I have the slightest feeling he didn't do the ejector crab on purpose LOL.

  • that's actually really good

i'm a cox of a guys VIII and i've seen several of them knocked out by serious crabs

one of them was sure he broke his nose!

that's a pretty cool video though to be honest

and impressive recovery by the kid :)

  • a kid from our novice 8 did that a few weeks ago. he only broke his nose.

  • Hahaha i love this video. There's a small crab, a medium crab, then there's.....The Ejector Crab!

  • i sat in front of an ejector crab once

  • haha oh man, this is the safety rowing video i use as a coach... it's the same one i watched when i first started rowing almost 13 years ago... we always rewind and watch this part several times.

  • omfg this exact thing happened to me 2 days ago. it was the first time any of us had ever seen any 1 ever thrown out of the boat. i didnt catch a crab, but our coxless 4 hit a boat which caught my blade but still, was hilarious!!!

  • i have never seen an ejector untill that vedio

  • so, the morale of this story is not to catch crabs!!

  • ddddddddddddddddddddi have been waiting to see one of these ever since i heard they existed!!! i dont even care that it was deliberate

  • he had to be quite brave to delibratly catch those crabs. When i was in j14 a guy in my boat knocked two teeth out!

  • i watched that video! it was hilarious!!! ive never seen that happen...excpet i caught a crab that gave me a concussion one time...so they better warn people about that! ha!

  • Isn't that Sammamish coach Charles?

This makes me laugh so much!

  • ah. the ejector crab.

    infamous.

  • I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I actually want to see the entire thing again soon.

  • Hey, that actually happend to me when our cox didn't see a pole in the water and I totally crashed into it. It was the end of october and we were doing 1000m pieces. It is actually easier said then done to stay under water when you need air. However, in the end we all had a good laugh about it.

  • haha CHARLIE!!!! the kid that gets thrown out in this video's name is Charlie... (he ended up being a guy's coach for my team) we all laugh at him for it

  • ha ha ha i love that idea of someone catching a crab, falling out then getting clobbered by blades and riggers. that would be a really bad training session! I never realised anyone made rowing safety videos, must be fun to watch.

  • This is the best part in the whole video, but when they were explaining what should be in the lauches, they said you should have a fire extinguisher(sorry, I can't spell) and my team was like 'Why do you need a fire extinguisher on the water?" but my wise crew coach had the answer: In case a rower spontaneously combusts!

  • I was in this boat. We showed up to practice one day and guess what - we're filming! Fun day.

  • So who was it who fell out? How did they do it? Were they like, 'hey you, catch a crab that gets you in the gut and flip yourself over the gunwale. Okay?'

  • We have to watch this video every year and the varsity crack up and we end up watching the guy fall out over and over again

  • We had to watch this when I first began rowing. The best part is at 35 seconds in...

  • hahahaha, I love this video and I love how they are rowing in khaki shorts, who the hell rows in khakis?

  • this is the best. I love watching it every year. soo funny!

  • one freshman novice on our team got thrown out of the boat by a crab and didn't stay underwater long enough for the boat to get by. he full on dented a rigger with his head. we gave it to him as a souvenir and now we call him "rigger"

  • omg that is so awesome! So far nobody I know has actually fallen out, in the crews last season I mean, but who knowns what this year will bring...

  • i caught crabs once and it did not look like that..

  • "keep your head DOWN"

  • watching that made my week...ROFL

  • during a summer session, one of our novices got ejected twice. once was during a 1k race. he didnt come back for fall rowing...

  • a guy got thrown out the boat with his shoes still on [he ripped the stretcher out] during a race a while back. [i was in a different crew/school]

  • He is clearly catching these crabs on purpose to illustrate the point

  • ejector crabs are scary! it happened to my pair last year! i almost had a heart attack

  • How old is this vid man! what kind of oars were thows? mabye americans just have 80's oars...

  • The video isn't new by any means, but those oars are sometimes used in learn to row classes. At least in America we know that "thows" doesn't end like "rows". Mabye you should check it out.

  • Yeah I'm not the greatest speller... you'se had a fucking powerful 8- at athens man.

  • lmfao getting thrown out thats hilarious. yea my feet r still in the shoes all bound up lemme just unstrap them and then let my crap throw me in the water. wow lol

  • BAHA!!

how the hell can you get thrown out of the boat

    lol

i couldnt do that even if i tried

    this is funny

  • Halfway through I was thinking, this guy really knows how to row, he is just faking the crabs, especially with the camera on him. But faking an ejector crab???? That's method acting!!!!

  • it's worth doing crew just to watch that video

  • 36 seconds into it. that's all that matters. that guy is a fucking tard. EVEN I DON"T CATCH CRABS!

  • HAHA! I heard about this (I started rowing this year) and I could see why it's so famous!

  • I feel so bad for the guy who had to catch the crabs as his 15 minutes of fame.

  • haha.. im going to be in the new safety video

  • haha.. This is at greenlake. They're refilming the usrowing safety video here at greenlake with none other then GREEN LAKE CREW.

    GLC BOOOOYYEEEEE!

  • so youve had crabs before then hey

  • I find the best way to deal with crabs is to scratch

  • never shave!

  • Not funny being the actor!

  • eww spoons!!

  • haha classic
