Ron Paul is the ideal, of course. Sadly, the powers that be probably won't let him win. Gingrich, for all his negatives, is explicitly in favor of a 15% flat tax and opting out of the Social Security scam. With Obama or Obama-lite Romney, we will get no tax reform, no real entitlement reform, and a lot of other crap. Sometimes you have to settle for something less than the best case.

He is the only candidate that perdicted the economic collapse and knows what caused it, the failed monetary policy of the federal reserve, something Newt supported back when it was doing well. When Bush wanted everyone to afford a house, he deliberatly manipulated the price of housing so it would be cheaper than it is supposed to be. That caused an unsustainable housing bubble which collapsed in 2007. Ron Paul perdicted this. Newt did not.
