While I think Bush made some horrible decisions that contributed to the devesttion of our economy, to be fair, the economic decline began late in Clinton's last term. He left on a relative high note so people look back fondly. Another 4 years might not have been so kind to his presidency. They deliberately loaned money to unqualified borowers knowing that they could never repay the loan. Then they upped the interest forcing the owners into bankruptcy. the lenders then took back the property. problem is, this scam only works when real estate prices are on constant rise.
