This is wrong from the start, Jesse James was killed in my town of Saint Joseph Missouri, the house he was shot in is still here and has tours. Big mistake on the History Channels part.
you all talk as if robin hood was good...man, i tell you, people are stupid...jesse went wrong when he went from fighting for southern independence, to thievery
At the north field bank robbery Jesse didnt go inside the bank, it was Frank,Bob Younger and one other I cant think of right now. As for J. Dalton he was nothing more then an old man who wanted fame as Jesse James before he died.
@DogWalkingTall so your argument is that because there's no proof he didn't that somehow means he did? I don't think you understand how history works, it's not about what could have happened but what is documented to have happened.
if there's no proof he DID share then it's insane to presume he did based on the stories of romanticised historians and novelists of the time.
@chezequerz He buried it all around in parts of the town he grew up in. Much of it was found in recent years, some coins dated 1892, meaning he did not die when it is alleged. One thing is known now is Dalton was not Jesse. A man named JM James, who died in the late 1930's is more likely the real Jesse.
@foxwilliammulderx Man, I saw that same show on the history channel. There's no proof the coins found were burried by James Gang. There's little doubt that JJ was shot by the Fords. Charlie Ford committing suicide over it and Bob Ford telling people he regretted killing a man he looked up to years afterward don't add up to a hoax. Plus if they were faking JJ death, shooting him from behind unarmed and looking like a coward isn't something Bob Ford or anyone of the day, would've agreed to.
@jcdixon97 What don't you get about hoax? If it was a hoax, then sure Bob Ford would tell people th truth, why not? What research are you basing this on, what people of the time would have done? Great argument.I have a hard time believing much of what we are taught, everything, especially in American history is a 75% lore if not down right lies. Americans of the time were mostly decsent of criminals sent from England, fuckin liars. No doubt people of the time, bob included, were lying eurotrash
@foxwilliammulderx What Im saying is no one, like Charlie Ford, would be so grief stricked to commit suicide over a hoax. Yes, read any book on geurillas or bushwackers of the MO KS boderwar. These were not men who would agree to a hoax making them look cowardly, they were ego driven, vengeful phychopaths. For Bob to agree to be part of a hoax it would have to be a part to make him look better than reality, not like a coward. JJ living on past 1882 is a great fascination, but just not true.
Furthrermore Bob was basically commissioned by the MO government to assassinate JJ for payoff and a pardon. As people discovered he was promised a pardon and shot JJ from behind it pissed them off. People in the KC area wanted JJ on trial, not murdered, and Bobs wish of being respected for killing JJ backfired. So why would bob live the rest of his life in danger and eventually get murdered himself over a hoax? He had no choice, because it wasnt a hoax. He couldn't lie and say JJ was alive.
@jcdixon97 I suppose I want to believe in his living a long life as much as I believe everything is a lie. It is way too easy for me to that what we think to be true is just fabrications, omitions and hear say. I believe over half of what we are taught in history class is miss information. This is something I will definently research, after finals of corse. I am facsinated with JJ's life, its also easy for me to be open to all posibilities.
@foxwilliammulderx Right on. Looking into things with an open mind and not believing everything we're told is healthy indeed. It's tricky because sometimes we want to believe the sensational so bad we ignore the obvious, but then again, the obvious isn't always the truth. Anyway, I personally think Butch Cassidy living on is more likely of the outlaws. Watch the In Search of Butch Cassidy series here on youtube if you havent yet, very very interresting!

Truly, Elvis was Jesse James.

Jesse probably did give money away but, like Dillinger after him, it was most likely to pay people to keep his whereabouts quiet.
Anyway, I think Cole Younger was the true leader of the gang prior to Northfield- the James`s were never the same after the Youngers were captured.

i feel the need to point out there is absolutely no proof in the least that Jesse James gave any of the money he stole to anyone beyond his gang.
