@ElGatoVolador2010 I'm 100% agree with you. It was and is my biggest disappointment. The way some unis or to be specific study centres treat their students is really humiliating. Given that we come here and pay 5-6 times higher than local students and receive no concessions or chance to work enough to cover our bills we still are being treated just like money bags. Lectures are given by one people, assessment is done by another one and many other things (remaining characters are running out)
I don't normally get caught up in this shit but honestly, whoever is agreeing with this is being closed minded. And using a comedian(who's job it is to over exaggerate) as a source of proof to back up your own battle against Australia, seriously?! I had a shy quiet Indian Med student live with us for 6 months and he had the time of his life, plus I work with students from all around the world and they love the respect they're shown by "most" of the locals. I strongly suggest you delete this!!!!!
@boskonovitchgal Australian here - I've lived all around the world, and I can assure you that racism here is the same as any country. There is a small, small, percentage of close minded people, but the average everyday Australian is welcoming and understanding.
@marmztube - i guess i'll agree with you on that. I know racism is almost the same here in india with the foreign students and north indian students. But lets just say that an act of stupidty and can be ignored. I don't care what people do when i come to australia, its an awesome country and i know it!...i'm indian and half of my relatives live there, my cousins study there....its not that bad at all...:)...i wish all this just gets over...peace..
hey i'm mexican , and i wanna go to australia to study for a year but i've seen so much things about how australians are so racists and stuff like that...i personally don't believe that ... but would anyone who have been in asutralia can tell me if it's true or not?
@TheyAreAllInsane I am Australian. We have a huge foreign population, I love seeing other races every day I think it makes us really open minded. But I know a lot of people are also extremely close-minded and keep a traditional old view. I know of exchange students who get treated really good at first at home around here, and after a while they get treated like trash. That's where I intervene.. but.. there are lots of idiots anywhere you go. PEOPLE HAVE TO LEARN TO START SEEING JUST PEOPLE :)
this is for all Aussies and other Foriegners. These stupid punjabis only constitute a very small percentage of Indias population. But because of their actions ,we all r blamed. So pls dont see us like u see the punjabis, they r arrogant, rude and sick.
U motherfuckers sleep wid ur mothers arseholes.....u dnt deserve to be our frds .....coz u dnt even dnt knoww wht frdship is....u know wht u and ur frds fuck off..........u guys have highest rate of drug consumption , u guys cnt live without alchohol, cigarretes..........u dnt know who ur father is.......so just fuck off........ansd think twice b4 messing up with us......
..im aussie with greek background my friends are italian, spanish, dutch, maltese etc and none of us seem to get along with you indians, you dont make good neighbours or workmates or friends,no sense of humour, bad hygiene, always complaining about racism...maybe its time to take a good look at yourselves
Why call them international students? Are they here for an education? NO! They're here for a visa! So call then what they are! Not just immigrants, but queue-jumping immigrants to boot! Fuk em all!
"Used by the government"?? No offence, it's the international students who are using this country. They come here not with the motive to "study", but with the motive is to get PR.
90% don't leave after they finish their studies. They use their degrees as a stepping stone into this country. Thank god for Abbott.
@MissDotti123 Atleast we did not land in boats with handcuffs in our hands and hunt natives to capture their lands. We did not rape native women, neither did steal their children....and funny enough it all happened not even 150 years ago. How quickly you forget.
@shedkad Why raise the past when I'm talking about the present? And the present situation is this: it is a known fact that the ONLY reason why a MAJORITY of international students come here to 'study' is to get get PR. Full stop. Their mummy and daddys pay them thousands of dollars for fees, books, accomodation and living expenses. And for what? With the hope that their child can get PR.
@shedkad And why? So they can use their child as a way of getting PR in this country themselves. They are essentially jumping the queue and paying their way into this country. Many of the parents come here with no skills. So where do we see them next? Centrelink. Taking advantage of the system that we - hard working Australian taxpayers pay for!!!!!
@MissDotti123 Ok so International students come to Australia and their parents pay for it - CORRECT, what you missed is that this is INCOME FOR AUSTRALIA. During the financial year 2008-09, international students brought 26 billion dollars to Australia Economy. There are more native australians including caucasians who are on centrelink payments as opposed to international students and you dont have to be a genius to work it out.
@shedkad and i am sure 1% medical levy and 1.5% medical levy surcharge goes towards your mediclaims. So miss dotti , i suggest you get an education and guess what unlike me you wont have to pay $75000 dollars, my tax money will take care of it. Cheers and have a gday.
@MissDotti123 Lastly, Australian migration laws make sure that Int students on attaining PR does not go on centrelink payments, that is because for 2 years they do not get any support. Therefore, to support themselves they have to get a job and lets face the fact, we are much more educated than native Australians and have a big incentive to get a job. Lastly, over the last 10 years i have been in Australia , i have paid hundreds of thousands in tax and still do as i run a business
Indian media portraying Australian police negatively? Indians suggesting Australian culture is racist? Hypocrisy!
v=S-glx_bh4xc Indian media and Australia
While the Indian media whips up hysteria, the numbers show that incidences of crimes where Indians are victims do not number high enough to demonstrate a pattern of racism.. and that Indians are, indeed, safer in Australia than in their own homeland.
v=4zKoluh0eh4 Indian media's myth of Aussie racist violence
Australia is not a good place to study, been here for 1 year:
- international student fees are very high & lectures are bad
- no transport and other concessions to international students
- it is a INDUSTRY, aimed solely at generating profit while providing poor value
- you can work 20h/week, but many international students get payed less than minimum wage
- overcrowded university facilities
- no opportunities to work here after your degree
Don't bother, there are better places to study!

I remember those attacks on Indian students, most of them were Indians attacking other Indians or Lebanese attacking Indians.
But the racist Indians blamed WHITE Australians.
