  • The Bel Monte Dam must be stopped at all costs!! Awesome video!!

  • You all should read this manifest PRO the construction... if no one speaks portuguese, please Google translate it: tempestadeemcopodagua . com / artigo . aspx

  • 40 billion dollars it'll produce for year, this resources should be invested in social aid to the families that will be afected (ITLL NOT BE 40000 PEOPLE!). in the last year it was ilegally deforested in amazon more than 6000km2!one Belo Monte in two months.NO ONE SAYS NOTHING! deflorestation without any gain for the country!Belo Mont is actually a good thing for the country, it'll produce resources that wil be invested in the conservation of amazon and the welfare of the people that lives there

  • the dam will flood 516km2 (228km2 is already the area occupyied by the river). in the totality, 52 hectares NOT 400000 hectares! in majority the occypied part is already deforested. the dam will be the third biggest in energy potencial not in flooded area! it'll produce 100billions of kw/h for year! this is totally necessary to mantain the growth of brazil.

  • One last thing - you say that no one is "green" enough to be on this video. Says who? Citizens around the world who oppose this dam are the little people that try to make a difference with as little as they can, be it recycling, or watching their energy consumption. It is up to the authorities, the people in power, to create alternative means of sustainable energy. this is the message that the video, and its participants is trying to get through.

  • When a project threatens to destory one fifth of the earth's fresh water reserve and the supplier of 20% of the Earth's oxygen (the same kind the opposers of this video breath) its a shame to even try to convince them why this project is a mass miscalculation on the behalf of the Brazilian authorities. Please also note that half the footage on this video was provided by fellow Brazilian journalists/citizens. Are you also telling them not to interfere when it comes to opposing your convictions?

  • To all those flooding the page with their own comments in the hopes of showing that their own opinion surpasses those of others, please show the courtesy of being democratic. you say you are Brazilian and that no one should interfere with your countries sovereignty. but i must ask, do you see any one with forks and pitches running towards you?? people are free to express their discontent against a project that does involves the EARTH as a whole....

  • I am 35 years old born and raised in Brazil I study History bec is one of my favorites.Funny because we have many Lebanese immigrants here in Brazil bigger amount of them since decades ago and they agree with i am saying because now they are Brazilians as well..I am proud to live in a free country with a strong economy democracy and freedom of speech, and also proud to live on a Nation were the citizens took 1 president from power without any violent protest just with the youth "cara pintadas"

  • About AMAZON FOREST outside the borders of Brazil its a business of the countries it belongs to,Who am I to dictate laws in other countries who am I to dictate in US,UK,Canada or dictate what European countries have to do like France,Germany But what is happening inside the AMAZONAS STATE in Brazil its OUR business(Brazilian citizens). As same what is happening with "PRESALT" and PETROBRAS in the Brazilian sea in Atlantic ocean is OUR business, its the same like in any other country in the world.

  • In US as same as in Brazil the Native Americans lives in reservations as Xingu in the beginning when the first European founders of Brazil went to the continent(I use to call my country as a continent because is sooo big)Native Americans was about 11 million and now there are only 500 thousand of them living on those reservation areas. This video makes me laugh because its better than cry,no surprise for me how much hypocrisy and political marketing is growing in the humanity.

  • To say that AMAZONIA is OUR busines i will not say FUCK OFF but would be not bad at all as just a Citizen talk...I do care about the Native Americans as same as US does and all of those on the video does.We have to look first in the mirror before pointing someone...My mom always said "Envy kills, destroys and corrods the human soul"

  • @ovalente76 ".I do care about the Native Americans" You may *care* about them, but you do not understand them, for they are out there on the internet and in Reality, trying their damndest to get the World to open its' Eyes on the Irreversible Carnage being done to Grandmother Earth. May I politely suggest you watch the video of Chief Oren Lyons speaking on Global Warming. Then watch another called 'We Are All One' where Oren and Floyd Red Crow Westerman both speak about the Planet

  • @LizzieCornish Envy for "Money" means oil, natural resources,land...Those wars had a false "good" reason but after the end of every war we see the real reason...(US/IRAQ) Is a good example, there was no nuclear or chemical weapons ,and even if they have found it would not be a good reason to attack other country starting a war... war is always bad.Be careful to not make war giving false "good reasons" for it...Those who make wars always have "good reasons" and use it as a motif to legitimate it.

  • @LizzieCornish @ovalente76 Do you have email why are you hiding for its a democratic forum to comments or noot ?I dont have nothing to hide.do you have email because i would want to be on a democratic discussion

  • @LizzieCornish i have sent a private message to you as well

  • It reminds me the new Australian slogan "Fuck off ! We Are Full!" I agree its a stupid way ordinary citizens found just to say "hey this is our country we decide what we will do!" but Australians are not wrong ,people who says its racist or xenophobic are wrong. And as Brazilian i think the same ,and is not different in US,Iraq,Greece,Germany,Israel,Palestine,Lebanon,Ireland,Northern Ireland, just take a look on the crisis in Europe, the reaction of Greece...i don't need a slogan

  • @ovalente76 What you have to learn is that we are no longer separate tribes of People. We are ONE Species, in grave danger. We have allowed terrible things to happen to this incredible planet, purely because of Greed and Power. We seem to think we have the right to plunder and pillage Grandmother Earth for our own wants and needs. We do not. She provides ALL we need for a healthy life. We need to return to a Simple Way of Living. This video is wonderful. It is reaching many.

  • @LizzieCornish Again, 200 Million of Brazilian Citizens around all of 26 States of Brazil +Brasília DF together with the DEMOCRATIC Government will decide about Belo Monte.About your concepts about separated tribes ,please do not underestimate me I`m a History Literate so do not try to "teach" me telling me i have to learn something.History is interesting you should take a look on our Brief History to know what Envy for oil started in US/Iraq.

  • @ovalente76 ovalente, I have sent you a message privately, so as to keep this arguing OFF this page. Please be good enough to reply to me there. Thank you.

  • Not a real green video, ridiculous ...sorry to disappointing you but am not a green person as same as all those people on the video but i worried about the planet and sustainable growing and life, lets be realistic,We are lucky to have such a huge an blowing economy growing fast surpassing the UK getting the 6# biggest economy, and at the same time no hurricanes ,no earthquakes,no tsunamis, and soon 20% of world`s fresh water ,yes exactly and all this is OURS(Brazilian Citizens).

  • @ovalente76 As I speak YOUR police are attacking Chief Raoni and his People. Sadly, your one fifth of the world's fresh water will be drying up, just as China's has done due to her dam, The Three Gorges, the biggest in the world. I suggest you google 'Droughts in The Amazon Rainforest' too, because you're already getting them. Then, I suggest you take your head out of your backside and join the rest of the planet in stopping Belo Monte, because we are ALL in this together.

  • @ovalente76 And no, you are not lucky to have a 'huge and growing economy' at all, for you too will soon come to understand that we ALL have to change how we are living. We can no longer decimate this beautiful planet. It is OURS, as a Species, and it also belongs to every other living species which dwells upon it. As you are so into the Native Americans I suggest you join them in trying to get the world to wake up to the fact that we are, as a Species, at the Eleventh Hour.

  • Am Brazilian and i know what this video is about and who is financing to those...Brazilians are 200 millions of people and we know what is about OUR Country,Our Nation and first of all OUR AMAZON,so go take care of your own countries and see that there are terrible things on it.Am not a "Green" person Greenpeace as institution is a shame!Take a look at the Brazilian bio fuel researches to learn about what is really happening in Brazil. We know what US is doing in Colombia, video is political

  • @brazilrules11 , china is number 1 as far as a country stands with pollution but this video to protect the people that as a brasilian you dont really give a sh&t about. they were there first. they deserve a say!

  • Nadine thank You! Love & Light Namaste!!!!

  • americans cannot be in this video. use your time and energy to get americans to stop being the number 1 contributor to global warming and to stop using half of the worlds energy.

in case people dont know there is 7 billion people on earth...300 million people uses half of the worlds energy. just think about it....

  • @brazilrules11 so even American people who stand for environmentalism cannot be in this video??? says who? in case u didnt notice, half the footage was provided by fellow Brazilians....youve said your part, allow others theirs. make a pro belo monte video.

  • @nadinemazloumfilms fair enough but about the american part i was just half joking. of course you have the right to do what you want i just think america needs to solve their bigger problem then get involved in others.

    but once again fair enough

  • @brazilrules11 this is not about political correctness. its about "citizens" and "global communities" reaching out to one another in support of environmentalism.

  • hey anyone want to a video about how the us is the number 1 contributor to global warming and how america wastes half of the worlds energy??? i mean jesus i get belo monte is a big deal cause its a large project but fuck me america has fucked with this planet for like 100 freaking years!!! atomic bombs,a billion suv's,wasting half the worlds energy and etc....

  • @brazilrules11 we try to build one dam and people flip the fuck out. oh we also dint wipe out our entire indigenous population.

  • @brazilrules11 "we didnt wipe our entire indigenous population"...thanks...

  • @nadinemazloumfilms BUT YOU ABOUT TO, VOCE NAO VE QUE VOCE E UM IDIOTA, SO PORQUE OS OUTROS FIZERAM ISSO A GENTE TEM QUE FAZER TAMBEM....

  • @nadinemazloumfilms You are about to start doing EXACTLY that. A Brazilian Judge recently ruled that your Indigenous People have NO RIGHTS of discussion over Belo Monte, for it does not encroach on their land. It is going to KILL their RIVER, on which they depend for their LIVES! Which part of this don't you understand? She also said she was not sure what the impact of Belo Monte would be, we'd just have to 'wait and see'...WAIT....and...SEE? How Insanely Stupid is that?

  • @LizzieCornish Oops, Nadine, my reply above (or possibly below) wasn't meant for you..it was meant to go to 'brazilrules 11'. Looks like I pressed the wrong button! Sorry.. :0) xx Darn Youtube, I so wish they'd get their messaging system sorted out better, it's the most confusing one I've ever seen. xx

  • @brazilrules11 Belo Monte will be the third largest dam on the planet. It will be followed by 59 more dams in The Amazon, making 60 in total. 5 more dams have recently been given the go-ahead by Dilma Rousseff. China's Three Gorges Dam is the biggest in the world, and last year they finally admitted it has caused devastating environmental problems, including terrible droughts. 1/5 of the World's Fresh Water lies in The Amazon. Without this Forest the entire planet will suffer.

  • @brazilrules11 this is not an American Hollywood production.

  • @brazilrules11 It isn't about America. People from ALL over the world have contributed to this video. It's been made by Nadine Mazloum, from Lebanon. This is about THE WORLD coming together as One against this Insanity. The Amazon Rainforest lies partly in Brazil, but it belongs to every species on this planet, for without it we are doomed. Already the Polar Ice Caps are melting so fast, releasing methane from below them. We are in deep trouble. We need Eyes Wide Open!

  • @brazilrules11

Correction.. America's government has made bad decisions NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!! So don't blame them for standing up against something they feel is wrong... Government can come down to a handful of few making bad decisions for Millions...

  • DESDE ESPAÑA : MADRID, BARCELONA, VALENCIA, SEVILLA, BILBAO.. etc. DECIMOS NO A LA PRESA DE BELO MONTE

  • @avefenix242 hahaha the spanish guy is against belo monte!!! spain kills half of the natives in the americas and steel a shit load of gold from our continent. if i become president of brazil im going to demand spain to pay of the money they stole.

  • @brazilrules11 when u do finally become president, demand your government to compensate for the massacre of Pinheirinho.

  • super boulot ! Great job ! Bravo à Nadine Mazloum, à tous les artistes et les citoyens engagés de ce film. Special tribute to Beatrice, Paulina and Raquel for their help.

  • On all of the videos against Belo Monte you see the same fight...many calling people standing against this project as HYPOCRITES. I have one thing to say, OPEN YOUR MIND. If any one from around the world would have bothered to take that much interest in saving the cedar forests of my country, Lebanon, I would crown their heads and place them on a pedestal of respect. Do you not see that we are NOT against you??? we are all one, the destruction of the earth is our own destruction.

  • TY Nadine Mazloum

  • It would appear that Belo Monte will be energy INefficient. It is not just one dam and in reality to make it worthwhile needs even more large dams. It is all about money, not people. It will flood a large area of land, dry up parts of the Xingu river, cause huge devastation to the rainforest and reduce fish stocks. The livelihoods of those who depend on the forest and river for food and water will be destroyed; uncontacted Indians near the site of the dam will be very vulnerable.

  • Nós brasileiros não queremos Belo Monte! ,Vamos para a rua prostertar!

  • Comment removed

  • The impacts will be minimal, few Indians will be removed. Few animals will be lost. The result will be very positiv

  • I have signed the petition and will keep sharing this urgent video...

  • Indians WILL NOT BE REMOVED from their land. This weill NOt happen. That s one of the reasons they have been studyng this project for 30 years.

  • @clarissewolf as far an i can read you began with the 'gross/fundamentalist' name calling. i remain constant when i ask EVERYONE to pls keep it together and discuss matters in a civilized manner. who ever does not like this video or stand with its views may dislike it, and move on (whoever it may be). Thank you.

  • @clarissewolf i thought no Indians would be removed from their lands? what say you to this? google this article "Brazil: Murder of Indigenous Child Provokes Reactions" on "globalvoicesonline(dot)org"

  • @nadinemazloumfilms indians have been killed because off agribusiness. the deforestation comes from there too. in october, more than 300 km² of the rain forest were destroyed because of agribusiness.

  • @clarissewolf You need to check your sources for integrity the natives are going to be removed as well as people who have moved to the area and built their lives there. Also this dam breaks Brazil's own earth protection laws.

  • We would love to invite you all to get to know about this project and learn that through this 30 years it has been conceived in a way that impacts are minimized. Get in touch through our channel on youtube or access tvbelomonte. com. br

  • @tvbelomonte HOW do you **minimize** total decimation of a Rainforest? HOW do you sell the idea to The People that this is GOOD for the Planet, for Chief Raoni, for The Kayapo, for The Juruna? HOW do you sell this idea to the THOUSANDS of species which will probably vanish *forever* purely because **humans** ****DEMAND**** more power? We are PART of this world, a very small part, and we have forgotten that.....to our Peril...

  • @LizzieCornish study a bit. Indians will not die, animals will not be vanished. This year invasions have destroyed much more than the lake will, the lake will have the size of the river at the time of the flood. You don t know the project. From what you say I can see that.

  • @clarissewolf The latest judge has ruled that Brazil's Indigenous People have no right to be informed about Belo Monte..Brazil has choen to ignore The United Nations and Amnesty International on this Human Rights issue. So, tell me, when the trees become covered with water, what will happen to the animals, the insects, the flora and fauna? What will happen to the methane produced by the rotting trees? Check out the video 'The Damned'...Chief Raoni has vowed to fight to the death..

  • @tvbelomonte We already DO know 'this project' thanks. This video has people from all over the world who have come together because of the 'Support Chief Raoni' Facebook page, who know EXACTLY what Belo Monte is about, who is behind it and why. That's why this wonderful film was made. I knew Nadine's brilliant idea of bringing this together, making it happen, as she has done, would reach the very people who want Belo Monte to go ahead..and scare the shit out of them. Brilliant!

  • @LizzieCornish you re sooo gross... tsctsctsc... shame on you!

  • @clarissewolf I see you have also been on the official video with Sigourney Weaver..stating that they too do not know their facts. Really? I could be a lot grosser when it comes to 'tvbelomonte', clarisse. What stops me is the knowledge that 'Citizens of the World Against Belo Mnte' has got you jumping up and down with *rage*. Chief Raoni has given 30 years of his life to stopping Belo Monte. He now has Warriors AROUND THE WORLD standing right beside him! NO! to Belo Monte!

  • @LizzieCornish ,10:48, look that guy surrounded by electrical equipment, protesting against a power plant in Brazil. Hypocrite

  • @GLADIUSBRAZILIS We need to connect to the Earth, not to more electrical equipment, it is why we are in the mess we are in.

  • @clarissewolf Please remain decent on this page. thank you. if you do not agree with the message of the film that is your right. no need to offend others.

  • @nadinemazloumfilms have you told Lizzie Cornish to remain decent too?

  • Thank you Nadine for your courageous efforts in bringing awareness of the dark nature of this world. In honoring Mother Earth and eachother, we honor ourselves. "Heal the Corporations, Heal the Amazons". We have to heal the split of our Ancestors and face our demons together to bring better days. We are suffering the consequences of their actions, lack of consciousness and is still present today, they are us! The Agresors and the Slain. The world is in need for Justice and love for all. Aho!

  • @TheJusticePartyCrew...And a special thank you for all those who participated in the video. Its honor to stand by your side in bringing "real" change to this world. Like brother in the video stated, "we are all related." Unity and Prophecy is @ Hand. There will always be opposition and there will always be those with the will of the heart to know right from wrong and do the right thing. Stand for what you believe and do your best. I honor all your paths. May all our dreams come true.

  • This is a great video! we must share it to help all the good people in brazil who is against this " Belo Monster "

  • Comment removed

  • Where is the damned petition to sign against this crap? You go through putting all this out there but where is the petition - that should be front and center.

  • @Madravenspeak its in the description. also at the end of the video.

  • @Madravenspeak With due respect, one helluva lot of hard work has gone into this. This has been done completely totally out of love and a deep committment to turn Belo Monte around. Please, keep your comments polite and respectful towards the person who has brought this whole idea and this film into being. As stated below, the address is at the end of the video and also now in the 'description' details. With HUGE thanks to Nadine Mazloum for what she has done here..

  • @Madravenspeak It's easy to find in the description. Last link.

  • Dilma is an idiot! I don't like her. I didn't vote for her. I hope she goes back on this terrible decision! There are ways to produce energy without building Belo Monte. If the existing dams go through maintenance, they would produce more. If they take care of energy loss by old and broken wiring, there would be less loss. And if the government began to encourage alternative forms of energy production, we could live very comfortably without this monster that is the Belo Monte!

  • Cette vidéo est superbe !!!!

  • PLEASE, share this around the planet, for if The Amazon Rainforest goes down we ALL do. This Rainforest belongs to us ALL, right around the Planet. Chief Raoni and the Kayapo, Shayla Juruna and the Juruna have a RIGHT to live their lives in Peace. We have to stop this Arrogance & Greed. We do NOT have the right to decimate the planet as we are doing, to take what WE want for OUSELVES, no matter the cost to other people, to other species. We are merely a tiny part of this *beautiful* world.

  • @LizzieCornish No dear. In dead this rain forest belongs to Brazil and I think you don t have the knowledge to talk about it. try to find some knowledgr at tvbelomonte. com. br

    best wishes

  • @clarissewolf I'm not your 'dear'...so don't patronize me, thanks. Oh, I have er...a little knowledge about Belo Monte, for your information...and I sure as hell don't need to go to your TV channel to be brainwashed into believing this is a good idea..Hey, clarrise, check out The Three Gorges Dam, the biggest in the world..Then, check out how even the Chinese are now admitting it's an environmental disaster, causing terrible droughts in many parts of China...Thanks...'dear'.

  • @LizzieCornish I really think a bit of politesse is nice everywhere. For me you sound a bit fundamentalist. And in a matter of national sovereignity you should get away from our busines. take care of your place s nature. Leave us alone. From what you say , like a crazy fanatic I can see you know nothing about nothing. You have no tchnical knowledge about the forest or about the dam. But if you do wish to stay into your little closed mind, whatever.

  • @clarissewolf Well, according to you, the world's third biggest damn is nothing more than a 'lake'. Check out the state of the polar ice caps..check out the the methan being released there...check out the speed The Amazon Rainforest is being decimated..check out China's links to Belo Monte......check where the energy produced will be sold...The Rainforests of the world belong to us all. Great to see this superb video has you so rattled.

  • @clarissewolf Actually the rainforest technically stretches beyond Brazil into Venezuela, Colombia and the Eastern Andean region of Ecuador and Peru. More than half of the world's estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects live in the tropical rainforests. The Amazon Rainforest has been described as the "Lungs of our Planet" because it provides the essential environmental world service of continuously recycling carbon dioxide into oxygen...Please read on the next comment....

  • @nadinemazloumfilms I m familiar with the borders of my country. And lot s of you, foreingner people, think that the federal distric here is Buenos Aires, what makes me laugh a lot. The indians where killed by european people that came here first. there s lots of american occupation in the noth brazil, lots of farms, huge farms, lot s of americans missionaries. Once japan tried to steal a patent for a natural product from the rain forest. I know you do have interest on it.

  • @clarissewolf @clarissewolf Actually the rainforest technically stretches beyond Brazil into Venezuela,Colombia and the Eastern Andean region of Ecuador and Peru.More than half of the world's estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects live in the tropical rainforests. • @nadinemazloumfilms More than 20 percent of the world oxygen is produced in the Amazon Rainforest. There were an estimated ten million Indians living in the Amazonian Rainforest five centuries ago. Today there are less than 200,000 - Native tribes never understood the concept of owning and destroying "mother earth" - they believe they are simple caretakers of this planet - and we stand by them in that belief. After all none can live w/out breathing, drinking fresh water (etc) and balance

  • This is a wonderful video with a very strong message.
