How different is this to the Job the SAS are doing? I realise SAS are trained for more operational scenario's i.e. CQB/Hostage rescue, Water borne op's etc, but isn't this pretty much what the SAS are doing right now in Afghan?

Pathfinders are selected from anyone in the British army that voiunteers.Aged between 19 and 33.Six week selection course in wales.A lot go from the platoon to pass SAS selection .
yeah, joing the parachute regiment, pass P coy, do your time, gain a trade, get picked to undertake PF selection, PASS, then get the stash. Don't start from end to beginning....Bad Karma
I'm Aussie so i'm not entirely sure how it works over in the UK so maybe you could enlighten me... I know that the Pathfinders are even more elite than the Paras but do they constitue the majority of SAS. Here we have the 4RAR commandos that form a good part of our SAS. The Pathfinders are an independent elite unit of the parachute regiment. The Paras do provide the majority of SAS troopers. Its the natural progression for an ambitious para.
