  • TRY TO FIX THE VIDEO,THE PICTURE IS NOT GOOD,SHE WAS GIFTED WITH LOVELY VOICE GOD BLESS HER SOUL,SHE WAS A TRUE ARTIST

  • her sister semeha was married to my uncle and i knew her son as a boy

  • am yisrael chai

  • Umm Kulthum was a far better singer than Leila Mourad, I can't believe Leila was picked over Umm to be the official singer of the Egyptian Revolution.

  • lol why do you keep copying and pasting the same message?

  • BS. Laila Murad was a better singer than Khalsoum and more beautiful and charming.

    Anyway they were different.

Laila sang more modern songs. Khalsoum more classical. Somewhat boring.

  • Not at all. According to my 95 year old aunt they were completely different.

    Kulthum was more classical.

Murad was more modern. My aunt did not like Kulthums songs as she preferred more modern tunes.

THey were both great in a different way.

  • Laila Mourad was one of the best singers Egypt ever had. Even after all these years, her voice, acting and performance remain so cheerful and entertaining. We miss her so much and miss those good old days when Egypt used to be the Hollywood of the Middle East. I will not even dignify the religion issue with a comment.

  • Nasser spoilt it for everyone.

  • anyone knows who's the composer of this lovely music?

  • i can assure you that All religions are the same, specially those abrahamic ones/ people make the difference because they love to kill in the name of relion. did they do that in the past and they do it right now now?

  • Laila Mourad converted to Islam After she got married to anwar wagdi.Even after she quit her art, she chose to marry two muslim men Wagih abaza then the well known director Fatin AbdelWahab. She sang a very RARE song(which I have)to reply to all the rumours that claimed her affiliation to israel. Its called 3la Allah Alkawi Ale3timad meaning we rely on our God.She gave birth to two muslim sons. One is Zaki AbdelWahab who confirmed that his mom was reading Quran couple of days b4 she died.

  • Laila mourad concerted to islam AFTER her marriage to anwar wagdi.Besides after her quitting her art,she chose to marry 2 muslim egyptian men.Wagih Abaza then Fatin AbdelWahab the well known dierctor and she gave birth to 2 muslim sons. She sang a VERY rare song in the 70's(which I have) after her accusations of being affiliated to Israel called (3ala Allah Alkawi al E3timad)meaning we rely on God.Her son fired letters to the Israeli embassy in Cairo insisting that his mom was an Egyptian muslim.

  • super siger of her time she was it doset matter if sfe convert to islam or not only the almighty know.

  • all loyal fans plz join (Laila Mourad Lovers) group on facebook .

  • shs is jewish Egyptian

  • She converted to Islam in 1948.

  • her conversion to islam wasnt serious it wernt even so she can marry her husband.

it was just so she can keep hold on her career and still be accepted by society due to what was happening in palestine.she was still accuse of treason.poor woman wasnt a conversion enough for someppl.

its very sad ppl shudnt have to resort to those means due 2 politics and other ppls hatred.

  • Her religion is not important but she converted long time before the foundation of Israel. After the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel the Israeli embassy tried to invite her to Israel but she refused. She died in 1995 and was buried in a Muslim cemetery in Cairo. I agree some people tried to destroy her by spreading rumors about her even after her death but she was a strong Egyptian woman and all the rumors died out. Many People in Egypt love her and her legacy will live for ever.

  • Ofcourse her religion dont matter. she was wonderful singer that does matter.

but plz she converted 46 or 48 very convient timing if u get my point. i hope ur not implying that her proving how "muslim" she was

and how not "jewish" she was proves what a true patriot she was.

i mean how pathetic i thought the days of the religous inquisition ended.

it obviously didnt with some ppl.

It sad she had to give up religion just so she woudlnt been seen as traitor.

peace 2 laila 4 eva xxxx
