@k0smon To fallen soldiers let us sing, Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing, Our broken brothers let us bring To the Mansions of the Lord No more weeping, No more fight, No friends bleeding through the night, Just Devine embrace, Eternal light, In the Mansions of the Lord Where no mothers cry And no children weep, We shall stand and guard Though the angels sleep, Oh, through the ages let us keep The Mansions of the Lord
as a trumpet player, I have to give it *at least* a - (minus) for the attempted (but not reached) high notes (mostly beginning 1:32) ... otherwise it's a decent arrangement and performance
That was a wonderful rendition. When my Wife's grandmother passed away, we asked the organist if he could play it for her funeral, and he performed it as the recessional. As a member of the first class of WM's to graduate in WWII, we thought it a fitting gesture.
Are there words to this tune?

@gosnmic agreed. I don't think the attempted high notes were necessary, but this is still a beautiful rendition.

This was a very very moving piece at the concert. It was hard to keep the tears back.
