drop D and make kgkgkgkgkg(like scratching?) and thats it.. a question, did tu work that tele? i have the same, but a put the hambucker in the front, i mean, where the coil its.. and now im worried.. nice cover!
@Frankielandia I don't quite understand your question but the guitar is stock I didn't build/modify it. But the pickups are different output and the humbucker/coil tap should definitely be in the bridge position.

@boondockscar Thank you. This was a pretty rough take when I was fairly new to guitar so I'm sure you will be able to surpass this if you keep playing guitar.
You're starting the upward arpeggio's one single note early -- after the initial F#-G-A, there should be one thrown away strum, which leads to the CDGACD riff.
@mjknlr Thanks for the constructive advice. I was pretty new to guitar and this song when I posted this so there's a lot of mistakes. However I now play the muted strum you talk about at the end of the riff. Still not sure if that's 100% accurate but it seems to sync up with the song and I've seen Thom Yorke play it that way too, Although I've seen many interpretations of this song even by Radiohead and they all sound pretty good. Except for this one ; )
@caseycurran Haha yeah I just learned this one and I'm OBSESSED with it now. I have plenty of reasons to switch back to normal tuning (which is a pain in the ass with a locked trem) but I don't want to because I love this one so much...
@BELL12366 Thanks for the compliments. And if you didn't live half way around the world you'd be welcome to collaborate and come up with some vocals for my originals (not my strong point). Your original stuff has a dark/edgy/experimental sound as well - nice.
@dustinodell1 Yeah I didn't think I held it weird until everyone started commenting on it. It seems to be mostly when I'm playing while sitting down but I might have to address that if it's detrimental in any way.
@hiney2002 Thanks... and believe me you don't want to hear me sing. I tried recording some vocals recently and it was brutal, let alone trying to play guitar at the same time.
@caseycurran i always try and sing nude.....the song nude.. and whenever i record it and listen back to it i always just shatter my dreams. i just do it hoping that miraculously my voice has changed since the last time, but it never does. which is why i learned to play guitar.
Yeah I know. He's turning off the the distortion from his pedal. I played this through a single channel amp using the amps distortion so it didn't make sense to stop and adjust the amp and then reset it for the end of the song.
@danakerman I've since found out that he uses a Pro Co Rat for the distortion and live he just clicks it off to play clean during the bridge. I actually own that pedal now and may re-post this to be a little more authentic.
Thanks. I was trying to get a good amount of overdrive but not too much for playing rhythm. I used my AC15, driven to the max and wanted to see how that sounded. But yeah kicking in a distortion pedal at the end would have been nice.
hahah does anyone think this guy kinda looks like snoop dogg? lawl anyway nice cover- it seems you improvised a bit towards the end but it sounded good
The chords used are a combination of a really accurate tutorial on youtube and watching their "In the Basement" performance.
I know the lead part at the end is a bit off. It's from an early live version of the song before the album came out and I never got around to revising it.
It is the same series (Fender Telecaster Plus), however his colour is different. Jonny has a Sunburst, this is some sort of red-ish colour. Otherwise, the guitar (pickups, fretboard), is the same. The Fender Telecaster Plus' are hard to come buy, as they were stopped being produced years ago. I wanted to buy one on eBay, which they can run for about $1000,
That was very good! I just started playing this song less then a week ago, scanning though sites for tabs but your the first YouTube video I seen and its impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it. If you're looking for a good cover, the chords in this are pretty much bang on, just timing is a bit off. Check out warrenmusic tutorials for Radiohead songs. He's the best I've seen on youtube.
Thanks. Couldn't figure out how Thom gets that crunch for the rhythm. I think he's using an SG in the neck position and possibly a Pro Co Rat distortion pedal which sounds very similar. This is just my AC15 on max overdrive.
ya. He does use a very cool vintage SG on the Scotchmist recordings. Ya got me as far as the pedal. Could be any number of models. Love the Tele, but I think I'd rather keep the classic singlecoil Bridge pickup on the Tele, and put the humbucker in the neck. I'll have to try your model out sometime. I'm a lefty though, and they are hard to find in guitar stores, if not impossible.
You'd have to find a right on Craigslist or Ebay and convert it. Lace Sensors are pretty full sounding and I think would be a bit two much having a humbucker in the neck. I always liked it in the bridge as I find standard Tele's a bit thin and twangy.
wow dude you play it very great. i like your style. and about your tele, damn is sick¡¡ just like jonny greenwood's one, but greenwood`s guitar sunburst is diferennt. sorry, my english is bad. jjee.
I love the overdriven tones. That's why I bought it. Nothing like that UK overdriven sound - not clean not saturated, just right. Mine has the blue Alnico.
Passive. Lace Sensors are pretty unique pickups if you actually read up on them and see what makes them tick.
good job dude,That was great ^ ^

@caseycurran On the album it's not even an electric guitar -- he plays that section on his acoustic. Live, that obviously has to be a bit different
