On public signs, French has to be bigger than English. Make it 50.1% French, 49.9% English and you are ok.
On items sold in the province: French instructions/ingredients/presentation must be available.

C`est Ottawa qui contrôle les politiques d`immigration. Les Pakistanais et les chinois font augmenter la valeur de l`Ontario ? Si tes pas capable de vivre en français qu`est-ce que tu fais au Québec ? enlever le nom anglais ? je ne te comprends pas...Au Québec on parle français depuis près de 500 ans. Quand les anglaiD sont arrivés il y a 250 ans, ils nous ont dit eux aussi que ça ne seravait à rien de résister que notre culture n`existait pas et qu`elle allait disparaître : FUCK YOU

@UneILEuneVille oui mais la major part qui rentre vont aux quebec et ca va etre plein d'arab et haitien et personne en veux des gang de rue et des negre mais ill parle seulment francais et en plus on vais laise faire le sujet de la langue, c'est directement un infraction sur la liberte humaine. Tu vois quand les arab rentre dans le quebec et il enleve la croix dans les ecole et veul la liberte de religion, beinto sa va etre la liberte de la langue. AND PLEASE les indien ette ici en premier.

La loi 101 n`est pas contre la charte des droits et libertés. L`onu a rien dit contre cette loi. La loi 101 est identique à ce qui se fait en Suisse ou en France et dans les autres pays de l`Europe de l`ouest. Les anglophones du Québec ont plus de droits que les francophones du roc.C`est trop l`argent qu`on leur donne : méga-hôpital, 2 chaînes de televisions, universitéS, privilèges, etc.C`est trop. Je crois que nous allons faire la souveraineté et après nous négocierons avec Ottawa.

Les langues ne s'équilibrent pas naturellement. Soit elles sont fortes, soit elles sont faibles. Le Français est en position faible sur le contient (8 millions sur 330 millions, c'est pas peu quand même). Sans la loi 101 le Francais, du fait de la mondialisation se perdrait dans 2 ou 3 générations. Il resterait peut-etre un seuil marginal (comme au Pays de Gales ou en Irlande ou tous les panneaux et pencartes sont en 2 langues aussi) mais plus personnes ne le parlerait comme langue maternelle..

How would you like it if China invaded Canada? and tried to eradicate english and forced chinese culture and language in everyday life? You would fight back. What do u think the french are doing? 2 % of north America, not much, just let the french have Quebec, there such a small %, let them have it, I moved to T.O., it's all english and so much better for the english..Let the french keep there run down Quebec, and then they could use the money to fix up that dump, I never thought that there could be bumpless roads, her in T.O. there are real roads and real Canadians, and on my Tim Hortons coffee cup, yes I have a Maple Leaf! @navigarful Being catholic might have been part of Quebec history, ( my family came to quebec in 1647 and remains there today) but Christianity is a man made myth. NO I am not an atheist, I beleive in a " God " or " Creator" but anyone who understands and is educated in early Christianity and the making of the bible know it's a man made mythology. Our children should not be taught lies, fabrications, and exaggerations as truth. Not to mention the bible is not a fit book for any child to read.

@duke613 Indeed. For a long time, religious institutions were running education and healthcare. The catholic church's christianity message was very invasive and that played against immersion of immigrants. It's part of the original reasons for the move towards "laicism" (seperation of church and state).
Nowadays, some immigrants chose to function in english and not learn french, either because they already speak it, or aren't aware that Quebec is french when immigrating to Canada.
