EWQL is far more superior as i own both in my studio. I was a major fan of Edirol Orchestra but after by EWQL i was more than amazed at the sound. EWQL provides you rich natural sounds at your finger tips as well as ton of articulations and editing power from the engine. Edirol to me is limited in many way to fully express my music i am creating. I vote EWQL for it's sophisticated sounds and articulations.REMEMBER its not just the sounds but how you play it,EWQL dominates Edirol

EWQL is all computerized and studio-recorded. And has "richer" sound than EDIROL.

EDIROL is only computerized and studio-recorded. No RICH sound.

EDIROL and EWQL are the same, a little.

But the difference is:

Both are different in smooth or rich qualities.

@akidar104 EWQL isn't computerized, it's all studio-recorded. I think the Silver version used to be partially computerized but not since Play libraries came out.

EWQL is the better choice i would say....i looked into these both before i decided to go with EWQL as it just provides a much more richer sounds and if you are looking for the movie kind of feeling that makes your heart race then i say EWQL...Edirol for me was to computerised doesn't deliver a rich enough sound for me...i have EWQL silver and i love it to bit it is so realistic and they have captured the orchestra very well and they have advanced that with hollywood strings ;)
