  • I knew it wasn't my imagination, the candy bars were bigger when I was a kid !!!

  • USA network was the shit back in the day!

  • "Take a stick, pull it out, the taste is gonna move ya when u pop it in your mouth!" YEAH. that sounded so innocent back then...

  • at first i thought they said crap caramels o.O

  • Cousin Larry!!

  • Almost broke my arm trying to copy that Cheerios commercial as a kid lmao...

  • The old juicy fruit commerical song is hillarious by todays standards.

  • i was born in 91

  • i want a butterfinger i mean betterfinger lol and doritos cool ranch yum yum wow carmals in a box of coco puffs!!!!!!! rofl thats funny

  • Pull it out, the taste is gonna move ya, when you pop it in your mouth. lol.

  • SOMEONE FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS IN THOSE DREAM AWAY PILLS!!!!!

  • @athleticsgirl23 You can actually still buy them online if you really want to know!! LOL

  • I'm to F'in Old!

  • I was 10 Years old and I miss the innocence of the 80's.

  • Given that Perfect Strangers had been on for a year by this point, it's surprising to see MLB still playing an anonymous guy in a commercial.

I'm not sure how much showing an 11-year-old TV movie in mid-afternoon can really be a "Premiere event".

When your friend is being chased by a gorilla, the thing to do is to casually stop and have breakfast before you save her.

    It's a shame that wasn't Ernest's last movie.

How can we make our sugary cereal even less healthy? Let's put candy in there!

  • when i was a kid i always wondered why they replaced carson with the doritos guy, cuz i had no idea who the fuck he was

  • LOVE Fruit Swirl Bars!! Bring 'em Back, Please!

Being a teen in the 80's was TOTALLY AWESOME!!

Balki's Cousin Larry in getting cockblocked by LIFESAVERS HAHAHA!

  • I wish I was a teen in the 80s. I was born in 88 but my sisters were teens in the 80s and they loved it. It jus seems so much cooler in the 80s

  • @ilovejam88 it was. Lol. Got you by ten years.

  • This reminded me how hokey USA used to be. Now they have some pretty good original programming. And that's totally Cousin Larry in the Life-Savers ad.

  • Don't just dream about losing weight, LOSE WEIGHT...DAMMIiT!

  • I could watch these all day. I can't believe how watching these commercials just takes me back to when I was a kid. I was age 4 thru 13 in the 80...I can't think of a more care-free time in a person's life. Real homework, real responsibility....zero. I can't believe how these make me feel. Awesome.

  • @HBiz72

I totally agree...and I think we are the same age

    love the 80"s!!

  • I don't get it. Why would you want to avoid aspirin?

I mean, I'm sure there are some medications that might conflict with aspirin... and maybe some medical conditions, too... but aspirin's generally considered to be GOOD for you and milder than other analgesics like acetaminophen... so it's strange they'd use it as a selling point for Anacin 3...

  • @danielledrules They have Doritos in those vintage bags again! I saw the taco ones the other day.

  • Isn't that Peter Thomas narrating the Anacin-3 commercial? He narrates Forensic Files on TruTV these days.

  • 4:54 thats what she said

  • Wow, I remember the Dream Away ad.

  • i was born in 82 and remember these commercials fondly.....the music on the other hand...eww

  • cool uploads its nice to get away from doom and gloom and watch something nice

  • A Cocoa Puffs/Popeye crossover? UNHEARD OF!

I used to hate the serious ads that came on in between the kids ads on USA and Nickelodeon, like that Dream Away spot. UGH!

  • ha, the boy in the bubble.. john supporting a drug habbit with the earnings off that bad boy!

  • LOL Leno is still just as much a douche today as he was back then. Thank you so much for posting these up!!

  • wow.... when watching these I feel like I'm in the 80s and nothing else matters... man.... good times...

  • @WumWip Same here. I just didn't realize how great a time it truly was.

  • The 80s were great! I was born in 69 so I was a teen in the 80s.Oh the memories.

  • Wow, they were still doing the Cheerio-Kid commercials in the 80s? I don't remember that. I was just watching a DVD set of OLD retro commercials that featured the Cheerio-Kid back in the 60s.

  • Uh, I like the continuity of Cocoa Puffs, Wall Street Journal, then Elvis Home Video!

  • 4:00 Dream Away weight loss pills...take it before bed, you could wake up looking better than you did before...ha ha ha

  • the guy from perfect strangers

  • @darkhelmut76 Ha i know i was thinking damn wheres Bowky...

  • Whoa, I can remember the jingles for Care Free, Juicy Fruit ads. The cool Doritos bag that actually showed you the chips. Of course my favorite Doritos was Sour Cream & Onion.

  • @livinginhawaii1971

I just bought a vintage bag of sour cream and onion doritos..I didnt remember em...just loved the vintage bag...now if we could just get our nacho cheese and cool ranch ones in the vintage bag like we had in the 80's!

  • I wish I exisisted in the 80s. It looked like the greatest decade. Too bad I was born in 1993. oh well. I had to deal within today's world anyway.

  • @TheTaykel i wish i was born in the early 70's, then i could grow up with the Atari

  • @TheTaykel Yeah it was the best time to be alive, i'm only 27 but i got a solid 7 + years of the 80s.

It was like nothing else....every aspect of life was incredible. I could talk to strangers in the grocery

store and they were all cool.

  • @TheTaykel yeah me too i wish being born in the 80's

too bad im born in 1995 oh well ...

  • @TheTaykel It was definitely a special time. I was born in 1980, so the 80's formed me.

  • I remember those Dream Away commercials! I think they only aired on USA. I have a tape of the Airwolf pilot with that commercial.

  • I still sing that butterfinger jingle

  • Wow I never actually saw a trailer for "Ernest goes to Camp", thats some real history right there! KnowwhatImean?

  • a lot of people don't realize that the sitcom "Family Matters" is actually a spin-off of "Perfect Strangers."

Dream Away?! They could have at least tried to make it seem like a real medicine, and why was it not availible in Calif., Alaska or Hawaii?

    Ernest...good times.

  • awsome commercials, thanks for uploading!

  • The boy in the plastic bubble reminds me of The Bubble Boy episode from Seinfeld. I haven't seen that Cheerios commercial in over 20 years. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey, that's Alan Kalter, the announcer on "Late Show With David Letterman" doing the Life Savers voiceover!

  • "Heartbreak Ridge" is available on Beta and Laserdisc too!

  • @bigshowjoe1226 In fact, I'm watching "Heartbreak Ridge" this week on DVD. Great movie.

  • The Boy in the Plastic Bubble was parodied in the much more awful "Bubble Boy" with Jake Gyllenhal in the title role.

  • these commericals aired the day before my 8th birthday and I remember most of them, especially the juicy fruit one (I was addicted to it back than too). Hard to believe I'll be 31 on Monday. Thanks for making me feel old (only kidding of course).

  • coisen larry appleton!

  • Aww I loved Ernest! I remember those Juicy Fruit commercials came on all the time. Jay Leno looks so young in that commercial.

  • These aired on my 5th birthday! I can't believe I am turning 28 this week. Gah. I'd love to be 5 again.

  • OMG, it's Mike brady.

  • Hey, Jamie Ross from Law and Order @ 1:53.

  • @dobbins2550 I knew she looked familiar. I just couldn't place her.

  • It's weird, I can't find Baby Magic products anywhere anymore. My mom was convinced that Baby Magic smelled better than Johnson & Johnson's baby products.

  • RIP Jim Varney. The old school Ernest flicks from the 80's and early 90's (Camp, Christmas, Jail, Scared Stupid) were the best ones. I saw the latter two at the theaters myself.

  • Great set. It has a lot of commercials that I haven't seen repeated anywhere else!

  • by mennen

  • Ranch flavored Doritos are the bomb & Butterfingers rule!!lol

  • The woman with Mark Linn-Baker is actress Anne Marie Howard.

  • Juicy Fruit is the only one of these I remember, I swear they were running that ad for years afterward (or at least using the same jingle in full).

  • Aw come on!! I want Cocoa Puffs to let us get FREE CARAMEL inside today, again. xPPP

  • Since when did Nabisco make Butterfingers?

  • @barber747 They owned them from 1982 to 1990, until it's sold to it's present owner, Nestle.

  • @dgendvil Thanks for the info. I've seen this commercial, but it was long before Butterfinger featured characters from "The Simpsons" as shown in every commercial during the 90's when Bart Simpson would say "Never lay a finger on my Butterfinger!"

  • @barber747 Since they bought out the Curtiss Candy Company in 1981. Nestle then bought it from Nabisco in 1990, and make them to this day.

  • God I love these videos...thank you so much for posting...it's like I can actually feel my childhood coming back to me...woo hoo

  • Carey Lowell, who played A.D.A Jamie Ross on Law & Order can be seen at 1:52 She would have been 26 during this commercial.

  • See, I stay home from work, feeling so under the weather and... WHAM! You always know how to brighten my day! :D

  • I almost forgot Jay Leno used to have BLACK hair! 8)

  • I miss Jim Varney.

  • The Care Free gum commercial at 1:43 stars Carey Lowell she's married to Richard Gere (still) and is one of the original Assistant D.A.'s on Law and Order...cool.

  • 4:56

    That looks wrong.

  • USA Network in it's prime. Awesomely cheesy!

OK...so, when the ad agency first sang the Juicy Fruit jingle to the Wrigley's execs, not one suit said, "You know it's a catchy tune, but we might want to change some of the lyrics." Well I'm glad they didn't or else I wouldn't be singing it to my coworkers when I'm bored at 3am.

  • @Boogeyman80

Yeah, the lyrics are hilariously risque LOL Funny never noticed that back then

  • Wow, I remember "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble"!! One of the most hysterical movies I've ever seen. And it wasn't meant to be funny!! lol

  • @m3trooper and mike brady is in that movie, wow

  • That was my favorite Ernest movie. RIP Jim Varney. :(

  • Moops!
