  • Ebonics4everyone, why is acknowledging reality "morally offensive" to you? Neither black people nor gay people can change who they are, nor should they, just to appease the bigots who would condemn them on irrational and/or "religious" grounds. The prejudice both blacks and gays experience from the ignorant is quite similar. Educate yourself and you'll stop being part of the problem.

  • A beautiful video! Iowa respects the LGBT community like no one else.

  • Even the scary ass Donnie Darko looking rabbit at 0:19 supports gay marriage.

  • I am so proud of my great state of Iowa! Iowa has long been WAY out in front on civil rights issues, often leading the rest of the country by years and even decades. In its very first decision in 1839, the Supreme Court of the Territory of Iowa refused to treat a human being as property to enforce a contract for slavery and held that the state must extend equal protection to persons of all races and conditions.

  • i refuse to bicker with someone who says the bible tells them to "hate the sin, love the sinner" when it comes to gays. it only furthers the pick-n-choose biblical propaganda that is currently dictating our laws & that in itself is unconstitutional.

"some of my best friends are gay" makes ppl sound even more bigoted. gays aren't from some foreign land of homoslavia or another planet nor are we animals to observe. we're people. imagine that.

tired of the same ole crap. it's 2010. Evolve!

  • I am a conservative Republican, and even I know this is the right thing to do! They pay taxes just like us and are people just like us.

  • @silversatisfaction

Thank you for using your brain.

  • @silversatisfaction You, sir, are not a member of the party of Ronald Reagan. Turn in your membership card immediately, RINO.

  • God Bless Iowa.

  • Congratulations Iowa and New Hampshire!!

God Bless the United States of America and the Bill of Rights !!

  • Thank you to Iowa! It's not just New England that's for civil rights for all Americans anymore. You make the Midwest proud.

  • You're illiterate.

    Sh.....

  • lol i looked at this after i got back from a meeting that lasted about 5 hours ok so i think i was slightly tired

  • John Slade White... great ad

  • Congrats Iowa!!! Thanks for showing that discrimination has no place in your state and that same sex marriage in no way hurts the sanctity of the "traditional" marriages.

  • really proud for iowa!

  • Homosexuality is not healthy, nor is it natural. The media and gay activists will do anything to make it seem otherwise.

  • Your world is changing, bro. And there's nothing you can do to stop it. I feel sorry for you, and will not respond further.

  • Nothing I can do to stop it? Tell that to the citizens of California. You seem to be shooting yourself in the foot every time you comment, so it's probably best you don't respond.

  • It's funny that you'd say that when you aren't even gay. You probably don't know anyone who's gay either. So, how would you know if it's healthy or natural? I'm as straight as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and I feel perfectly healthy, and I love my life.

  • I'm from Minneapolis.....I know my share of gay people. I've worked with them and even have a friend who is gay. And you know what? I get along just fine with them! They know I don't agree with their lifestyle, but that doesn't stop us from conversing with each other.

oh, minnesota. where it's okay to revile and despise people, so long as you're nice to their face. get out of my awesome city, and get thee to a red state already.

  • Wow....just a tad overgeneralized there?

  • @jfp1399 yea? Well than you and the whole state of Minneapolis can stick it.

  • @Tr0llsNeverDie The Artist Formerly Known as Prince is from Minneapolis, and he's especially queer.

  • @jmkeller I am a christian, and what makes you that special christian to interpret that homosexuality isnt healthy lifestlye? you need to bin your new bible published according to your beliefs and understand the real words of bible before you say Amen! you conflict your own beliefs by not accepting love in its own forms. It must be too much of a intellectual talk for you but its worth enlighten a person in dark who stand in church but abuses his own faith..YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN "

    cheers mate

  • Aw, this is a nice ad. =)

  • Sure! Polygamy's fine with me. Polyandry is fine with me! What consenting adults do, as long as they don't hurt anyone, is fine with me! How does Polygamy hurt you?

  • If I gave you reasons on how homosexual marriage laws hurt society, you wouldn't hear them anyway. "As long as it doesn't hurt anyone" Are you kidding? Do you have any values? Marriage with animals is ok with you too, I suppose? This video is a great example of how subtle and sly people can be to make gay marriage sound right.

  • Nope. Sex with animals is wrong. They can't consent. I'm sorry that what two loving people do with each other hurts you so. You must be very secure.

  • Thanks for proving my point!

  • Wow, your exclamation point makes you look like an idiot, since he didn't prove any point of yours.

  • He claims that "as long as it doesn't hurt anyone", so I suggested marriage to animals (which has happened in WI), and he said THAT would be wrong. So what is right and what is wrong? Suddenly it seems his values got in the way.

  • Yeah, that would be you proving him wrong, not him proving you right.

  • I said "Thanks for proving my point" I'm not sure where you're going with this.

  • It's a logic thing. Your set of knowledge about this might be void...

Proving someone wrong is not equivalent to being proved right.

If someone comes up to me and says "the earth is flat" and I take him to space to show him the earth is a spherical object, that does not prove me right as I had no applicable statement about the topic in the first place. I did, however, prove him wrong.

  • You sound like a college student trying to show what he learned in class. I went through that phase too. I'm commenting on this video and to the other person. We have nothing more to say to each other.

  • You sound like an idiot. I guess you're happy with that.

  • lol

  • Thought you were done responding to me. Oh, well, guess you're a liar, too.

  • jabberwockgee - you're amazing. thanks for a great slice of entertainment tonight. I owe ya one. Where else do you haunt? FB? Twitter? You're one to watch. cheers!

  • I just love people that throw out references to things that did not happen-jmkeller, just when did someone marry an animal in Wisconsin? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. It's not fair to throw ridiculous claims like that in to justify your support of discrimination.

  • Someone married her sheep. And yes, it did happen. Not legally of course, but it made the news.

  • And yes, it did happen. Not legally of course, but it made the news.

So it's irrelevant. You can't possibly claim that gay marriage LEADS to people-animal marriage, if people-animal marriage is already occurring.

  • I'm not saying one DIRECTLY leads to another. I'm saying where will the UNNATURAL relationships end?

  • They probably never will. If people CAN have sex with something, they WILL. What business is it of yours? That said, where marriage equality is concerned, we're not talking about sex with animals, we're talking about 2 adult humans entering a legally binding contract.

  • @jmkeller Do you understand what the word "unnatural" means? The word means that it goes against what appears in nature. Paul uses this term in the New Testament when describing relationships and lives that he clearly doesn't comprehend. Paul doesn't realize that same-sex relationships are indeed natural (they occur in nature). Do some research and you'll see that almost five hundred animal species have been documented in having same-sex relationships. Education is key.

  • @cfulla2005 God made Adam and then Eve. Not Adam and Bill. Education is key.

  • @jmkeller Oh goodness. If you still believe that God created humans from scratch then we have larger issues at hand. Have you studied Hebrew or taken courses on biblical interpretation? The Hebrew story of creation is allegorical and is written as poetry. It's meant to show how God creates life, not a lesson on science. God's laws of science (including evolution) are what created mankind. You can use your witty statements as a response, but they only further show your lack of knowledge.

  • @cfulla2005 As a matter of fact, I do. I assume you are of the belief that we evolved from a eukaryote? Yes, I have taken biblical interpretation classes and written enough exegesis papers to go blind. The important thing to remember is, you cannot know for certain (nor can anyone) the biblical account of creation. It is what it is and we take from it what we do. However, God's words do not change. "Be fruitful and multiply" cannot exist in homosexual relationships.

  • Very good video.

Hope you'll get a lot of funds to continue your organisation work.

    Holebis ♥♂♂,♀♀♥

  • Nice commercial Iowa! Let's hope that here in NH things will go as swimmingly as they went there!

  • Very warm greetings of love and support from the Philippines! Equality for LGBT worldwide!

  • Good Job!!!

  • Nice video : goes to GLBT-friends.

    GayGreetzzz. Steven

  • Fight fight fight!

  • wow, Iowa looks like the America we see on TV

  • Freedom and equality for every citizens. That was the purpose for people when they went to live in IOWA, that's still the purpose for people to live there, so they can resume their own pursuit of happiness. Once you let one group of citizens being discriminated upon and let them become second class citizens, that dream of freedom and happiness is harmed for these people who are left out of this dream of equality. This here is evolution. It's love in action. It's a dream come true.

  • Excellent ad. Thanks One Iowa!

  • Okay well there are a ton of people and citations which say that there is a lot of homosexuality in the animal kingdom (the most famous being those flamingoes and penguins) so since I'm not a moron I'm not going to just believe either until I have a good reason. Do you have a reason for why we should believe you over them?

They have citations and its much easier to prove something with a little gay evidence than disprove it by proving a complete lack of gay evidence = you have a tough argument

  • also, in the animal kingdom, there is no "gender equality" either.

the vast majority of species on earth are ruled by the alpha male, because of his natural strength over the alpha female.

there ARE some species in which the female runs their social settings.

but there is no gender equality,

its just, do what the fuck i say do or die.

and whoever is the natural ruler of the species, is the executioner.

thats life in the animal kingdom.

  • feel free to debate me about animals,

i'll kick your ass in that debate.

    feel free.

no, actually the lion will kick your ass

    LMAO

  • now, onto the subject of homosexuality in humans.

Humans, unlike animals HAVE a conscience, and the ability to reason,

unlike animals, people are hurt when they are discriminated against.

and unlike animals, we have civil laws that protect individuals.

thats why i agree with gay marriage,

IN THE COURT, not in the church.

  • Comment removed

  • dont hand me any fuckin shit otherwise either, because i been working with, and around animals since i was 7 years old.

and i picked up and read every animal book, and science book i could get my hands on, while i was in school.

    ya dickhead.

  • animals do NOT reason, and there is no equal rights in the animal kingdom,

and the lower the species level of being, the less sharing there is.

the mother kils, or refuses to feed any of her offspring that are disabled or diseased.

predators kill, or kill AND eat the offspring of other animals that is out of touch with the family unit.

predators kill and eat the elderly of other animals, and the elements kill the weak.

    the result is

the biggest, baddest, most perfect survive.

  • the court has even upheld animal abuse, and sacrifices,

because it cannot intervene in religion.

  • the church does not have to perform any ceremony for anybody.

that is in the discretion of the church, not the courts.

there is a separation between church and state.

  • I feel happy for gays everywhere in Iowa seeing they have equal rights (I live in St Sharles in Madison County). However, it's not that inportant ot me. I may be gay, but I think relationships themselves are stupid. I prefer drunken one night stands.

  • The statement that this will not change Religous marriage is not true to fact

You cannot have Religous marriage without Civil marriage the next step to be expected is a law suit against some Religous institution for not performing a same sex marriage ceremony.,

Now that might not be too wise, should it happen expect a drive for an amendment to the State Constitution and expect it to have a fair amount of support,

  • Now if it does not happen then I doubt that an Amendment would gather enough support.,

But I don;t expect the temptation to take this issue to that final step to be resisted

  • Do you really think gay people would want someone to officiate their wedding who doesn't want to do it?

I don't care if it's legal or illegal, just...

Really? You think gay people are that malicious they would take a reverend to court because he won't marry them?

The reverend at my parent's church won't marry couples who cohabitate. Do you think they have a right to sue him?

    I didn't' think so...

  • MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - A bill that would have made New Hampshire the sixth state in the United States to authorize gay marriage stalled unexpectedly Wednesday over concessions to religious groups opposed to such unions.

The state's House of Representatives objected to language in the bill that would have allowed religious groups to decline to participate in same-sex marriage ceremonies or to offer gay couples other services.

  • But no I don't think the average gay couple is malicious but there ARE ativists who are

Marriage is still a Civil Union even when performed in a Religous institution the marriage liscence is issued by the State and the religous official when they sign it acts in that moment as an agent of the State in this case there is NO separation of c'hurch and state,

As for your reverend how many Activist Action groups are out there beating the drum for Cohabitation Rights? ;-)

  • Well, if the religious official gets to act as an agent of the state, I don't see why he gets to not follow rules of the state.

Well done. Thanks for removing any need for me to argue with you.

  • the state should take the right to marry any couples from him, even in your country has to be some authority. What if person who was given right to have driving school (for example) decided not to give driving license becauce didn´t like their lifestyle and choices. What a brothel!

  • its amazing how many homophobes can't distinguish between humans and dogs...real fucking sad.

  • roselyn72,

Wow you are ignorant. You have facts to back that up besides what you have read in the Bible? Why would people choose to be gay!? Yeah I'm sure they are just jumping at the opportunity to be discriminated against and treated like shit because of their sexual orientation. I don't think so. Are you an educated person? Cause you really don't sound like it...

  • It's not a choice.

I recommend you read John Barrowman's autobiography.

  • I'm an Iowan and I'm for equal rights. I liked the video. Oh and I'm "opposite" married and not one bit threatened by anyone else's marriage straight or gay.

  • God bless you!

  • "opposite married" XD

As much as I wish Miss California had answered differently, I do love the term she coined :p esp. as (in her words "no offence") it kinda made straight marriage sound the less natural of the two if that makes any sense (both are equally natural though of course)

You'd think she'd have answered better given she's Miss California! esp. with all that went down there so recently on the matter you'd think her answer would sound like she'd at least thought about it)

  • Why should she answer differently than the majority of her state voted

or in a different manner than President Obama answered the same question

  • SORRY, DAN

NO, you can't oppress another group and say:

" it's OKAY for me to persecute them because it is part of MY particular group's religious teachings so if you stop me from persecuting this group, you are stepping on my religious freedom and PS we are the majority so our opinion rules. Neener Neener Neener."

and what politicians say publicly and what they feel privately are often different (ie Dick Cheney).

    See you in court ! ! !

  • Roselyn72,

In 1968, only 19% of Americans believed marriage between blacks and whites was OK, so don't worry, you'll get used to it.

  • I used to be against gay marriage and now I support it. People change, times change tradtions change. Sooner or later the majority of Americans will be for gay marriage

  • People who change are even more awesome than those who have been brought up completely accepting because the change is with you.

I could never have had a reason to see gay diff. from straight 'cus of my upbringing and I hope that had I been brought up in a less accepting place I would have the same view as I currently have but I can never know that. That's why people like you are important, you had the potential to keep discriminating (at whatever level) but changed = you're a bigger person :)

  • was raised the opposite. Living in a religious household, I fell for my parent's worried "gay people are not 'bad' necessarily but the bible says'... that kind of thing. Of course, while they were saying that, I'd hear ' well there do seem to be a lot of pedophile homosexuals...'

I didn't start to get over that idea until I made friends in high school who were gay. I was like.. you know.. I just don't think I can call them abominations... of course, that made me rethink my religion as well

  • BOO HOO HOO CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER!!! MY CHILDREN ARE GAY AND NOW IM GOING TO COMMIT SUICIDE CAUSE IM A STUPID CHRISTIAN FAG! im glad you're not an accepting and supportive parent. we dont need anti-americans like you walking around. so do us a favor, join the army and get blown up by a fucking terrorist Tamarlane, cause if your children saw this, they would hate you. trust me. Unless they're not brainwashed by your closeminded stupidity.

  • Wrong. Physical manifestations don't necessarily determine your lifestyle choice. We choose not to eat meat, but it is not a desire. The desire to have a relationship with the same sex, parallel to heterosexuality, isn't something someone just wakes up and decides.

Also, male penguin couples have been observed stealing eggs from other couples so they could take them as their own. This isn't simply sex - it's caring for young as if they were a couple.

  • Video is well done.

  • Well done, Iowa. You all are amazing!

  • Actually, we're omnivores. We don't naturally require meat diets, just enough protein. Some animals are obligate carnivores, but we're not. So it would be more accurate to say that our bodies are capable of eating meat, or capable of not doing so. Our bodies are physically capable of a bunch of sex acts, but that doesn't mean we're aroused by them.

  • It's not a bad commercial. It's a little Anvilicious, but some anvils need to be dropped.

  • Fortunately for everyone, moving there is not necessary to obtain a marriage license, and Iowa is not the only state offering civil marriages to same-sex couples! :)

Also, where's Isreal? Is it Israel's cousin?

  • "I do" is even easier for my mentally impaired aunt, but she is still unable to give knowing consent to marriage.

  • You=self hatred

Why? Cause even though you dont agree on something, you're trying to stop it. Not everyone is going to think like you.

  • My career involves becoming a veterenarian. Its not my fault that when I observe animals during my studies I see these acts.

Why what does your career consist of? Giving stupid remarks to people you dont know about and on things you don't agre on? Some life.

  • No you cannot marry your dog because like a child the dog cannot consent to marrying you.

  • Yeah, cuz that's EXACTLY what happened when Massachussetts enacted marriage equality in 2004, right? The state is now OVERRUN by all the gays and lesbians! Oh wait...that didn't happen?

    Tool.

  • Yea Iowa - what a beautiful thing you have done for ALL Families.

Those that can't handle it - got to a wedding you will see two adult people in love - and it's an amazingly wonderful thing.

  • Mykrowsy,

Ah I see what you are now, one of those christian/catholic fundamentalists. Guess what? You;re not welcomed here. I;ve done studies in psychology and oh! turns out those who think that homosexuality is a "mental disease" are actually afraid of becoming a homosexual!

ps. Animals do commit acts of homosexuality. I;ve seen it in dogs, horses, pigs, and even dolphins. You lose!

  • Mykrowsy,

"and it's okay for you to call an entire group of people whose views differ from you, "retarded"? Just how do you think the retards would like that"?

OK, Im not looking it as though I know everything. I don't. I know people have different views, but even so, people should be given certain rights, in this case marriage. Everyone should have the right to get married. And if you can't accept that, then I don't see you as one who supports freedom.Sorry.

  • Actually there are gay bears...Just sayin'

  • hehehe yup.

Like the gay bears. They cuddly!

  • In the end, I love human beings. Because in the end, humanity figures it out. And they will too this time. It's just going to take a while. This video gives me hope.

  • If you think it's a choice why don't you do a little experiment. Choose to be gay for 5 minutes, see if you can get an erection watching gay porn, then change back. Come back and let everyone know what it was like to have been gay for 5 minutes.

  • That would require that sheep to have a legal standing and be able to sign a marriage contract. Animals aren't citizens - gays are.

  • Gay behavior has been observed in nearly ever animal that has been thoroughly observed. Do animals "choose" to be carnivores? Do you "choose" to like the opposite sex?

  • Comment removed

  • To mykrowsy (marked as spam): What makes you think all homosexuals "behave" like they are? (Oh, and we have sperm banks you know. >.>) Also, it's not a "choice" for homosexuals to be homosexuals, slurba is right, it HAS been seen in nature for males to take care of other offspring. Also, did you know the male apes mate? Homosexuality is found in nature everywhere, it's the exact same as Heterosexuality. People are born that way & have desires for different things, it's what makes us what we are

  • By that same right should beastiality be accepted because animals do it in nature? Is that natural? No matter what your point is here, your argument is weak.

  • i dont believe that ''homosexuality'' observed in nature is the same as in humans. Animals mate by instinct, and when you, for instance, see one male dog humping another male dog, it's because it is trying to mate, i.e. reproduce. i've never seen two female penguins bumping clams, have you?

  • hundreds of insects and multiple fish also diplay homosexuality just to kind of prove you wrong

  • Selected birds from the full list:

    * Chicken (Domestic)

    * Common Gull

    * Emu

    * King Penguin

  • Selected mammals from the full list: * African Elephant * Brown Bear * Brown Rat * Buffalo * Caribou * Cat (domestic) * Cheetah * Common Dolphin * Common Marmose * Common Raccoon * Dog (domestic) * European Bison * Prea
  • Awesome ad! Well done!

  • Is this a strong enough ad? In California they made the mistake of not showing gay people in the ads and look at the results.. Here a few gay people are shown but barely. Maybe it's because it's Iowa and it's a whole different ballgame. Still people need to get to know gays. Perhaps show Iowans how gays contribute to society? (like farming maybe?) that's the only way they'll accept same sex marriages.

  • You have a point that Iowa might need better help embracing gays, but the ad seems to be aiming for integrating an image of gays into other Iowan settings instead of making them stand out. I think individuals contributing to the community will serve better than just putting their photos or testimony in a commercial.

  • But seriously people, it's totally OK to be gay. Disregard the above comment 'kay?

  • not okay. my opinion. thanks for listening.

  • You can't be more wrong if you tried. Look up the bio on "John Barrowman" and you will soon see how wrong you are. Does this also mean you think celebrities like Elton John, Ellen Degeneres, etc., fall under all of those categories? I am a straight female activist for gay rights. Gay people do not have the right to marry one another and have it be recognized as legal. Get your facts right before making wildly inaccurate claims.

  • Excellent ad. I've seen it play several times locally. Too many people seem to think that a church will be forced to marry same-sex couples. Churches and other houses of worship are no more required to marry any two particular people than they were before. (I wouldn't have had much luck asking several ministers I knew to marry me to my spouse because we are "mixed" religiously. Others would have been happy to do it. But the state had no right to refuse us a marriage license.)

  • Excellent example!

  • Then don't marry one

  • Go Iowa Stubbornness! :-) I am a proud Midwesterner!

  • always fascinates me how it's discrimination if an expressed opinion doesn't agree with a particular philosophy. We need to remember that one of the basic rights in America is free speech without fear of retribution.

  • This isn't about free speech. Any American is and will always be free to say what they like, preach what they like about gays. Churches are and will remain free to choose how to govern their religious ceremonies in accordance with their beliefs, as guaranteed in the First Amendment's separation of church and state.

The only issue here is that of civil marriage, which is an entirely separate concept from religious marriage. As a legal contract, it should be available to all Americans.

  • Opinions are one thing. Legality is another. Discrimination only happens when choices are made about people's rights (like their rights to equal opportunity at a job, for example) based on factors besides their ability. Everyone is legally entitled to their opinions (barring hate crimes that cross legally defined barriers, like grave desecration.)

  • Saying it's discrimination isn't retribution, though, either. It's just a word, so it's also free speech.

  • Comment removed

  • THANK YOU! Enough of this f***ing discrimination commited by retarded close minded people who dont have a life outside of religion! About time "freedom" in America came back.

  • You know what they say, howie baby:

"The squeaky wheel always gets the extra lube!"

So who's been quieting down your suqeaks lately, howie? You poor, insecure, tiny little person you.

  • Very good ad. I've been really proud to be an Iowan since the ruling.

...not that I was ashamed before.

  • I'm very proud. Very proud indeed to be an IOWAN!

  • ! I love this video! Go Iowa! ^_^

  • warms the cockles of the heart!

  • Wow! What a beautiful ad! Wonderful job, OneIowa! Bravo! And congratulations to all in Iowa! Marriage equality for all!

  • Yay for Iowa!

  • Wow, Is America coming back? This is refreshing.

  • Beautiful.

I'm proud to be an Iowan.

  • Awesome video! I'm proud to be from Iowa, even though I don't live there anymore.

  • Great ad! Iowa - very proud of you!

  • Great! I'd love to see this more on TV, and more ads like this in general.

  • Help stamp out homophobia.

    Homophobia is a mental disease.

  • Connecticut makes it official! April 23, 2009 by Senate vote which solidifies what Judiciary did! Hooray - No more discrimination for GLBT. Yes to Civil Marriage. (And Born agains - you will be glad the Senate gave you protection to continue with your hateful speech - Rock on!)

  • FUCK yeah AMERICA!

    fuck the haters

  • This is awesome!!! This reminds me of Vermont as well.

  • I live in western Iowa and it was such a relief to see this on my TV tonight and not all the discriminating propaganda we've been getting. Good job!

  • Absolutely perfect...this battle will be won through hearts and minds.

  • Well done.

  • Comment removed

  • I live in Iowa, and we good people will NOT allow prejuidice, howie. Maybe you're hiding something about yourself if you're so homophobic.

  • I have to ask your opinion as an Iowan I am a bit concerned. Don't you think something should be done to make Iowans get to know gays better? I am not sure if this ad soes the trick? If prop 8 passed in a liberal place like California it would easily pass in Iowa and that makes me worried.

  • The difference between us and California, though, is that we've got at least two and a half years for people to get used to the idea and realize gay marriage isn't a threat. California was rushed to passing Prop 8. We're not in a rush. We can take our time to let people get to know gays and gay marriage.

  • Saw this during the evening news in Des Moines. Totally unexpected and awesome. I am glad we got the word of equality out before the scare tactics of the other side. Great Job!

  • kudos!

  • Good job Iowa!

I live in Utah, and it probably will be a decade or so before we finally allow gay marriage. However, I am sure that it will happen.

  • This country is looking better and brighter everyday...thank you for your part Iowa.

  • This is wonderful! I can not wait till my state (NY) gets on the ball and support marriage rights for everyone.

  • WELL DONE IOWA!!!! WOOOT! :)

  • respect, tolerance, common sense, clarity -- what a great video! Why can't the rest of the country stay clear headed about all this?! Gay marriage doesn't affect anyone else's marriage. If I marry another woman, someone else can still have a straight marriage. My marriage doesn't stop them or affect their vows. Only they can undermine their vows.

  • People are always scared of things they do not understand!

  • The first 23 years of my life were in Iowa and I am very proud of my homestate's supreme court. I hope that the 'average' Iowan won't let the hate, bigotry sway them.

I realize people still can't deal with Loving v Virginia - so we will always see bigots. However, I hope Iowans keep the equality flowing.

  • WELL DONE IOWA!!!

  • That rabbit-loo
