The lower hp motors were indeed all white except for the engine wrap - 1962 was the first uear for the 100hp motor, and it was the first all black paint scheme. That said, the many vacations from my childhood have a white 63 45 Hp. I was considering painting my 100 in the wghite scheme -
Thanks. Doing some more work on it now, rebuilding the fuel pumps and carbs and replacing the fuel lines - it's all original. She'll be more dependable that way
Thanks! I bought it from the original owner. This was the first run after I did up the points/plugs/etc and the first run after 15 years or so out of the water. It's a blast!
Wow..what a trip down memory lane. My dad used to race boats with this very engine, and our old Hydro swift also had this engine. That was sooo cool. Thanks for the post. I'm still into boats, but now I'm into offshore performance. Check out my videos if you get a chance. Thanks for the video
Sorry for such a delayed reply - I didnt realize I had any comments - I'm new to this youtube thing. When I was growing up my uncle had a couple of boats and a Merc 45. Running mine is a blast. I'll be taking my boat to his place in CT this summer - that will be kool!

1962 models were all white. But 1965 or 66 puts it still a sweet engine.
