I met Buzz when he was touring the UK with Weckl about 1998/99. We chatted after the show for about 5 minutes. I recall he was amazed that we had heard of the Larsen Feiten band over in England. When i told him my old band used to cover "Who'll be the FoolTonight" he was totally flabbergasted and humbled. A real gent and actually, it was me that was humbled more I think.
Would love to see more of this! Seem to remember a bass solo; RLJ introducing Reggie McBride as the 'Man With The Golden Nipples"?!! (Or did I just make that bit up?)
I have subsequently learnt that Reggie McBride painted in the tooth in question whilst Buzz took a little pre-show nap-further,that the road manager entered the dressing room just in time to stop Neil whipping one of our hero's eyebrows off!
Please note a very early leg lift-right at the end of the solo.
I don't know what she said into his ear but that solo kicked up a notch..or is it just my proclivity towards drunk chicks that makes me love her....Buzz is the Man.
I saw this band at Carnegie Hall around 1979...remember RLJ coming out and plopping a bottle of Jack Daniels on the Steinway. She could hardly talk, and everyone was on the edge of their seats during her spoken intros, wondering if she would get through it, but when they played, they smoked!
I was at the Carnegie Hall concert too ... to visit an old friend. I grew up with Feiten, we went to the same High School, and was good friends with him -- have been following his career ever since. Please check out the Wikipedia article on him -- just search for 'Buzz Feiten' -- it is largely my work.
I love the way Rickie Lee suddenly "gets"buzzys solo or it gets her!Like it suddenly gets her hard for him.She is sayin some dirty shit to him, like what she's gonna do to him Later LOL
I met Buzz at Woodstock backstage - a friendly kid like myself - or so I thought! A friendly GIANT. I didn't know who he was at that moment. I asked him about the guitar he had with him, he opened the case, showed it to me - LET ME PLAY IT!!!Then I stood next to him on stage and was utterly transformed!
That's an interesting story. I wish I was at Woodstock. I went to a lot of Southern USA Festivals at that time but not Woodstock. I met Buzz at 42nd St guitars about 3 years ago when he was playing with Weckle and he was extremely friendly and answered a lot of my idiotic guitar questions, but I did forget to ask him how to correctly play "Jungle Walk"
Thanks - a little more, Buzz was eager to tell me that he had pieced his guitar together from other guitars, and tried to explain his ideas as best he could. he wasn't doped up although he sort of lookjed that way on stage (in the video). I think it was just the fact they came on at daybreak. Paul B wouldn't allow drugs amongst his bandmembers!I was a mild pot person myself. The kid was a house on fire, "heavy mental", when he broke into solo!!
I played Jungle Walk in a band back in the day. The guitar part is not difficult, it's the wicked counter syncopation of the rhythm section that drives the tune.
I have some great news for you ; it looks like Buzz has a new album out on Oct 15th on a Japanese label - Buzz Feiten with special guest Brandon Fields . What joy !
Welcome back Buzz ;we have missed you more than you know ..
The awesome Buzz Feiten has a new album just out with Brandon Fields . Type in Feiten Dinwiddie and watch the bonus video track from it .. dedicated to the late great Brother Gene Dinwiddie .
Hi, You are welcome. Hopefully we can come up with some more Buzz videos. Outside the "player's community", Buzz is almost unknown, which is a crime. I see some of these guys who win or place high in various magazine polls and it is rediculous who wins, while Buzz doesn't get a mention, also the same for Ollie Halsall, at least in the USA.
Magnificent ! Thank you . Buzz is a superstar .. no question . This is just the true spirit of rock n roll isnt it .. its fun and exciting & Buzz is cool to boot.
i love the way he tells a story with his approach to a solo .. there is a beginning which grabs your attention ; a middle that makes you want to stay with it and an end .. no scalar noodling going on .. tha Charles Dickens of the guitar may I suggest ? This is composition of the highest order !

I met Buzz when he was backing Rickie Lee-I don't remember his teeth being in that state???
allbuzzedup1 2 years ago
Evidently he has an overbite?
There are other pix where you can see that, especially on the Guitar LA cd., but it doesn't affect his guitar playing, fortunalty :-)

Buzz is a popular guitarist in Japan.
So, I could enjoy his gig in Tokyo last year.
Some tunes of that time is uploaded here.
By the way, subscribers of your channel is very international.
I think this is the proof that Buzz is world-class player.
