@iAmPesukone Talent being a requirement for enjoyable music is a mainstream ideal (ironically enough), which is what I was getting at. Mfold's comment suggested that, since this music doesn't require "talent" (couldn't be more incorrect) it's not "good" music. He and everyone who watches Mtv have the same opinion regarding music: High production values, and people who are (often falsely) considered "talented". Which is why I told him to go watch Mtv.

The MTV superstars are indeed falsely considered talented, since most of the work put into their hits is done by a team of producers whose only aim is to make music that sells a lot. That is, music that is easy to approach and music that stays in your head when you hear it the first time.

Extreme metal on the other hand is not very easy to approach but that doesn't mean the musicians don't know what they're doing, I think.

this type of music is an evolution of crust punk. like crust it has fast pace slugdey guitars and blast beats for the drums, but it is has more of a metal influeince than crust and also is influenced by noise rock, and the lyrics to most grind songs range from politics, gore, porn , and humor( which is why there are a lot of weird names for grind bands). And also like a lot of crust punk bands most grind bands reject the mainstreem and have a DIY ethic or they are on indie labels.
