  • Wow! Great job! Expressive performance.

  • Love this!

  • Hey cool!

    Bravo c'est vraiment bien!

    Seb ;0)

  • I'm doing one, but could not make the mouthpiece with the bamboo, I do with a sax mouthpiece same

  • shapoonist

I live in Brazil and I love musical instruments but here there shapoon and I saw the videos that is a very different ai to making one, and I'm with some doubts

the reed it is the same as saxonfone high? as is the scale of it? tight all the holes he's a Bb?

    thanks for the answers

  • hey massey!

    - when i fill all the holes, it is a C

    - i use tenor sax reeds

i guess their are different models...

  • Could post a video just focusing on that piano rythm

  • You look very funny when your body shakes. But nice, good feeling.

  • I have to ask: is that xaphoon made of plastic or bamboo?

  • t'is a plastic one.

    in C.

with rico royal tenor sax 3 reed.

  • @xaphoonist have you tried a bamboo one? If you have, is it worth paying extra for a bamboo prior to the plastic one?

  • nope, never tried... it seems that the bamboo sax sounds better... but, still, i think the plastic one remains a very good choice.

  • bravo muy buena!

  • Great! I love the sound of a xaphoon. Nice piano also :)

  • i have a xaphoon and have just worked out the entire of kannon. they take a while to get the hang of, and they are flawed. but even so a great little pocket instrument that is worth persivering with! and i am currently working out your improv! (watch 'two tickets to bodmin')

  • man, you're the best xaphoonist i've heard yet! you make that baby sing!

  • i think the alto sax as a smaller beck... you'll have to get used. as for the fingering it's more or less like a recorder

  • Very nice Instrument!

    I play Alto Saxophone!

Is it easy to play for me?

    Is it the same handling?

  • is that a b flat xaphoon ur playing?

  • I must have watched this vid 20 times.

    check out my vids

  • very much enjoyed ^^

    I just ordered a xaphoon.

Can't wait for it to arrive!

  • they are great mate, do you already play a reed instrument? i did and i found the xaphoon really hard at first because of the shape of the mouth peice! and cheqe out my xaphoon vid!

  • great xaphoon!

  • Nice Riffs. I will have the bflat bamboo sax one of these in a week or so

  • SO COOL, encore, encore...

  • Would be great if you can post some basic lessons for the xaphoon. you are very gifted

  • i'm seriously thinking about it.

it might be still a few weeks to wait.

  • Neat!

  • thats pretty sweet! im actually getting a xaphone myself. what kind of mouthpiece are you using? im getting a custom made mouthpiece for my alto, and i might get one for my tenor as well so i can use it for my xaphone how long have you been playing?

  • Xaphoon have a built in mouthpeice

  • what kind of synth is that and where have you bought a xaphoon?

  • synth: Roland E-500

the xaph was bought in a music shop in paris.

  • is this xaphoon playd the sam way as normal sax?

  • i don't know much about sax... but the reed is the same, so i guess more or less, it's the same technic. concerning the fingers, it's pretty the same as a normal recorder.

  • cool :D

  • Nice!

  • I assume you use the plastic "pocket sax" xaphoon in the key of C. Did you ever use the bamboo B flat version and if yes what's your opinion of the two instruments?

PS keep up the "awful" playing. I like it!

  • yep, a plastic pocket sax. in C.

unfortunately i never had the opportunity to try any other reed instrument.

  • Which reed do you use? I mean what make and strenght? Only because I'm trying to copy your setup as I can not copy your skill!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Rico Royal, tenor sax, 3

the one on the video was absolutely new (never use) and then maybe a bit too young :-(

  • I have several bamboo saxes and both the pocket sax and the Bb bamboo xaphoon. The bamboo version is far superior to the pocket sax. get the Bb, well worth the money and a much nicer sound and actually easier to play.

  • goddamn, I want the B flat version. I play the clarinet and the tenor sax -jazz, mind you-, but they're both a bit tedious to carry around. This looks fun.
