What happend to Jimmy Leeward could have happend to any pilot. This man was a well seasoned pilot, who in his own words, flew over 250 different types of aircraft in his wonderfull life, his age had nothing to due with it. It was mechanical failure, and I'll leave that disscussion for guys that know aircraft alot better then I do lol.
in piloting an aircraft, altitude is your friend. an elevator trim tab is for straight and level flight so missing one will not cause an aircraft to go straight up. more than likely he pulled up the aircraft to get out of the "racing line" after that it is up to the inspectors to figure out what happened.
I have seen no body parts as the news said they were everywhere and I believe the CIA staged this as they staged 9-11. There was no explosion thus there would be tail and wing pieces, yet we have none, absolutely very little debris, this looks to be a model that crashed and the majority of the audience are commissioned federal agents collaborating on this "PSYOP". The CIA is the elite spy agency in the world they have people everywhere deceiving the public daily!
Looks like a trim tab broke on the horizontal elevator on the plane's tail causing it to climb rapidly, roll over and crash. He might have been unconscious from the rapid climb.
He was 74, had been racing this plane since 1964, and was a certified stunt pilot: and everyone thinks he shouldn't be flying? He obviously knew what he was doing, and moved the plane so that it wouldn't kill hundreds more. Sounds like a hero to me.
@IceVikingDeathGrip actually women do fly fighters, and every bit as sharp reflexes as men..and in ww2 there was a group of them out of the U.S. that flew new fighters over seas to our airmen over there.
LOL, nnnnno they don't. I was in the military and past all flight test there were to take. No they don't....and, nice try! that doesn't even begin to cober the psychological differences. Just like the poor female 18-19 yrs ago (from Oregon) that they put in an F-14 (just to SHUT EVERYONE UP that was complaining). She missed the whole damned carrier!! BULLSHIT! They have no busineess "WHATSOEVER" flying anything above and beyond refuelers! If, even those!
@RFKFANTS67 Well you can't change history, and yes! they did at the least, fly aircraft right from the factory during ww2 across the pond. How tactless of me not to mention, I meant our RCAF has had women fly our old f18's or did at one time, I saw a documentary on it long ago. But to say a woman doesn't have the same psychological stamina as a man, not only is that sexist it's non sense. In fact also women fought right alongside the men in the soviet army in ww2. So I'd say that's your opinion.
80 years old - are you shitting me - im scared just thinking that he drove he car there! He should of been taking tickets at the gate NOT flying P-51 in a freakin race...
Did they engines rev or go silent? Like you're gonna hear it die among the competing horsepower in the sky at 300 mph. Lol did it rev? Was she implying he missed a gear? Lmfao
On a serious note aside from me hacking the retarded press question, what a horrible accident. My heart goes out to all involved.
what did you fly anyways? Your a Tomcat driver?

Makes about as much sense as trying to train women to fly fighters.
