What's a good watch that would be close to a Omega Men's 3570.50.00 Speedmaster Professional Mechanical Chronograph Watch to buy that will not brake the bank? thanks
Oh by the way my $800.00 Luminox Professional diver watch get's stuck between 9:30 and 10:00 after only one year. My Tag forget about it. This watch and my cheapo Timex just keeps going and going. I'll never spend more than $100.00 on a watch again.
I've had this watch for over 10 years now. Wind her up, when ever you need it and it's good to go. Still going no batteries and no problems. Never had a problem with this watch.
i just want to get this out there... I think diver watches shouldn't be made with quartz movements. if the water somehow seeps in, the battery could shock you! even though automatics are a bit old-fashioned, they are most useful and most dependable for a diver or swimmer.
hi, just purchased an invicta 8926c. absolutely brilliant, like you i love the bezel and how it ticks more than 60 times. one think is though, the cylops on mine is a bit wonkey but i dont mind that too much. it is exactly the same as yours but the rotor on my movement is more decorated a lot more and says things like "twenty one jewels " and "since 1837" etc. it also has 2 arows going both ways on it, does this mean that it winds both ways? great video. thanks, helped me a lot!
@ramiejose that's right; i have a pro diver ocean ghost, with the same movement. it's not the miyota; it's the seiko-designed NH25A movement; it doesn't manually wind, but it winds automatically both ways. it has similar specifications to the miyota, and it's a good alternative, but i do miss the manual wind feature. it's also kinda weird that invicta just didn't announce this sudden change... but heck! can't complain too much! and i do like the look of that nice rotor!
@null140 very annoying, a few weeks ago my one with the new movement tha we were talking about just randomly stopped, i sent it back to amazon and they wont replace it, just send the monet back to me as they have had a lot of people taking the new ones back, do you know any thing aabout this?
@ramiejose ah, i'm sorry to hear that :/ unfortunately, there are quite a lot of complaints about invicta watches, because they make so many of them at one time that their quality control just goes out the window. as a result, they make a lot of defective watches. so far i've had no movement problems, but a lot of people are left unsatisfied. it's a shame, coz they make some really cool designs, at great prices too :( maybe try a seiko or citizen; similar prices but more reliable :)
Do not buy Invictas period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They last 2 or 3 years maybe!!!!!!! I sold all I owned! Get a seiko trust me spend the money!!! Samurai,skx009,skx007 far better really much better people.
Real fair that you US citizens can buy these for 59 USD when I have to pay 350 euros (that's a sale price) in Finland. Great. Fantastic. It's not your fault but I'm pissed because I wanted a friggin' watch that looked cool enough but wouldn't be like hundreds of euros since I'm a student with low income. I did look at Amazon.co.uk (which being in Europe means no taxes when they ship), and I found it - 75 euros. But no, they only deliver to the UK. I hate it. Even blurays cost 35e...
@TheJonando and I meant that blurays cost that much in Finland. Usually I get them from Amazon as well, since I might get like three for the price of one. And what do we have to spend on food here? Like 150 euros per week, and the standard help that a student gets from the state is like 570e minus the rent which is 250 euros... Unemployed people are more well off than students and they spend most of their cash on friggin' beer and take their bills to be payed by the government. I'm truly pissed.
I am seriously considering getting one of these Pro Divers but they look like a Rolex knock off. I understand that Invicta makes good watches for the money, with Japanese internals. But what I'm really looking for is a nice 45mm+ pilot type watch that is Auto. My favorites are the Montblanc Nightwalker, Breitling Navitimer and Bentley, Zeppelin, AK Homme (Chinese knock offs). Can anyone recommended a good beginner's auto watch that are like these style wise. 100-1000 bucks is the budget.
@flatblackstrat This one is better unless you want to spend a lot of money on a Breitling. The Chinese movements are crap and will last you for max 2 weeks. Movement not as smooth as advertised and the hands are greenish but glow well. Glow also doesn't last for very long... Still amazing for ± $75.
@thatstheowalcott I strongly disagree. I have a few dozen watches in my collection. 5 are Invictas. The $300 or so I paid for each would not buy anywhere near the quality from other makers. The Laviathan I just got has a Swiss movement that is used in Rolex, Omega, and other high end watches. THE SAME EXACT MOVEMENT.
I paid $1500 for a Movado that has a quartz movement. QUARTZ. No moving parts. No craftsmanship. Hate to say it homeboy: you are wrong.
@scottsims1970 Err it's not the same. Not even close. Leviathan uses the Swiss SW200 aka Sellita SW200 aka copy of ETA 2824. The 2824 is a pretty standard movement, but by no means near the quality of high end automatics.
Plenty of real watch companies make watches in this price range with quality automatic movements (Orient, Seiko, Citizen, etc.). Just because you choose to spend $1500 on a crappy fashion watch doesn't mean anything.
@icecue7 You had me believing you were a true watch geek up until you mentioned Seiko & Citizen. Ha. Keep buying your watches at Sears. I'll take my "crappy fashion watch" over a Seiko or Citizen. By the way my Laviathan has a Ronda 515 movement. Invicta still has the best hand made quality for the price.
@scottsims1970 Wow, Ronda 515. That's even further away from anything luxury watch brands use than the SW200. Ronda 515 is an average Quartz movement, not specially treated in any way for excellent timekeeping. Keep thinking your Laviathan offers something special.
Also, even though you already proved this with your last post, you obviously know nothing about real watches. Grand Seikos have often been often compared against Rolexes and other luxury brand watch pieces.
@scottsims1970 Let me keep going. Hand made quality? Almost all of Invicta's watches are "hand-made" in China. Invicta isn't only a "crappy fashion brand", but also guilty of deceiving its customers numerous times, not to mention it's horrendous ShopNBC shows. How does does Eyal deceive people? Let's see: use of Chinese quartz movements marked as Swiss, watch marked as 300m WR failing a simple pressure test, fake diamond accents, manufactured sandstone dial, and more. Go ahead and google it.
Bryan, I just want you to know that your reviews are very helpful for me, I actually bought g-shock 7800B because opf your video it's turned out to be an amazing watch
i bought an Invicta 8926 too ard 3 months ago, through amazon. the second hand was bent and it still is. the tip of the second hand tilted towards my glass! so basically every second its creating an amazing scratch on my inner glass. bravo.
to make situation more enjoyable for me, it fogs inside. SUPREME BRAVO. any cheapest watch wouldnt haf this problem at all. thanks. 0/10 for quality. full mark for the excellent submariner outlook.
i bought an Invicta 8926 too ard 3 months ago, through amazon. the second hand was bent and it still is. the tip of the second hand tilted towards my glass! so basically every second its creating an amazing scratch on my inner glass. bravo.
Is yours an 8926OB/C? I just purchased mine from Amazon and so far the watch is looking great except for a few things: 1) The bezel, like you mentioned, is nearly impossible to rotate comfortably with two fingers. 2) Another nuisance is the crown, which I also have difficulty screwing it back down once popped out. 3) The case diameter looks a bit too small for me (40mm without crown), but I might have gotten too used to my other Invicta which is a 43mm.
Nice review. I just bought an Invicta 9094 (the blue version) from Amazon for $75. It's a pretty good watch for the price. It's also the only Submariner-style watch that I know of that has a display-back case to show off the movement. Mine seems to be gaining about 10 seconds a day, though, which isn't bad but isn't that good either. I guess you just got real lucky and got a super-nice movement. Since Invicta doesn't regulate their movements, accuracy seems to be a bit of a crapshoot.
Excuse my ignorance, I do love the look of this watch. I'm just a bit worried about it being automatic? Does this mean if I don't use it then it will lose time? Does automatic mean it just winds itself up? Am I better to get a battery watch?
It works great for me although I think that the lume on these watches is highly exaggerated. It has a visible glow for about 15 minutes max, no matter how long it has been under sun light. It just makes it a bit brighter for the first 2 minutes.
You do need to lubricate the bezel with some silicone oil so that it will break-in with out excess wear, and it's a regulated watch, they even regulate the movement at Miyota plant before they ship them.
Oh and also, Do you know where you can purchase extra chain links for this watch? Where did you find yours for 59$ that is automatic? I'm somewhat new to watches I need a new watch pretty badly.
I own one of these, paid about 90 bucks for it. Absolutely GREAT watch. Im real happy with it. It does lose a few minutes a week but who cares. When you consider a Rolex costs a few hundred for periodic service. Good bang for the buck.
I just have two questions. 1. What does the bezel do? 2. Has the rotator broken, or is it a trooper? Pleasse respond cus I really want to buy one but I just want to make sure it will last.
I just ordered this watch! You know what strikes me? Every time I read or watch a review on this watch people compare it to brands like Rolex and Omega, and not only because it looks like a Submariner... What the hell? It's a 70 dollar watch! In this review you said that the movement is not as smooth as a Rolex or an Omega but the fact that you compare this thing to those watches is amazing to say the least :p
Thanx very nice review didn't praise everything about the watch, then didn't over criticize the things you didn't like.Thanx again, nice review when mine comes on Monday I'll look at this again.
@Jaymz1000 I bought it from Amazon when I was over in the US last year - I'm afraid I don't know anywhere in the UK who stocks the Coin Edge 8926, but I'm pretty sure Amazon does the scolloped edge version from time to time. It's out of stock at the mo, but should be back soon.
There are two models of the watch I reviewed. A Black or Blue Coin Edge Bezel (Like a Rolex) or a Black or Blue scalloped bezel, I definitely prefer the coin edge.
Bryan, once you are winding the watch a couple of times 10-12 ...for how long time is the watch supposed to work ? 24h ?
Thanks again !
BTW...I found the second hand movement of an AUTOMATIC more smoother, nicer than a quartz one. I understand that the QUARTZ watches are more precise but ...to take a look at the back has is a privilege :) , it's like you would take a look at an old MERCEDES while the QUARTZ are like HONDAs

It's not as cheap in the rest of the world outside the US.
I got the model 7179 for comparably about $260 at tradera (national version of ebay).
It's a signature version with a red bezel or else exactly the same features.
Works fine, about 10 sec fast every 24h and it looks superb. It's worth every penny I think.
The bezel is very, very tough to move around just as you showed in this clip. :)

I just got this watch and it ROCKS! Sure it's not as good as my Seamaster, but who can complain for £60? Buy it - it is BRILLIANT!

Hope you get your watch!

Bryan ...what INVICTA to get : the black 8926, the blue 9094 , 9204, 9308 or the blue with silver crown numbers 8114 ??
All seem to have the same size...what differentiate them ??

9094 - Same watch / Blue Dial / Scalloped Bezel
9204 - Same as above, but Quartz Movement
9308 - Signature Logo Model, Also Quartz
