The newer, smaller body Royale in tobacco burst or quilt . I like woodtones colors but the quilt is a little different than most guitars . Good luck Louis . I hope you are having a great time at NAMM .

i like both old and new bodys cause i'm a sucker for 335's. i dig the 1st chery, blue a little and the quilt! i could loose the rest, kinda stock colors. i'd probably go for the quilt cause u don't see many like that! how's it play?

It's me GSR, Tone King it's not kind words it's just facts you did a really great job on your coverage gave me more insight on gear. Also, me being a PRS guy your interview with Paul Reed Smith which is the only one online so far, which you asked questions that he has not been asked before unlike the rest of the people which just ask him where did he get the idea for the birds on the inlay. It's guys like you who bring the gear to us in unbiased fashion so we can see behind the curtain

TTK, I'd go for the Imperial based on the fact that Dean Z designed it to the body/cap acts like a resonator of sorts. I'm my memory is right the string extend past the tail piece longer than normal guitars. I think of the two it would give the most unique tone.

They should have made the Imperial in a semi- hollow like the ES-335. They have some great finishes this year. I personally like the Red one :-)

Gibson did this way back in the mid 70's by coming out with their L-5 Solid body guitar. Only the L-5 was just a single cutaway. However this Ibanez is so fancy looking that this is why the Solid body L-5 came to my mind. As I owned a regular full sized archtop Gibson L-5 CES guitar while I attened Music College. At first when I saw a picture of the solid body L-5 I thought it would have the thickness of a Les Paul. Boy was I wrong it was really thin like this Royale Guitar. So I like thatt one.
