This is a best and more mystical opus of Santana. I knew it while I was seeing alive Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin at London in 1975. Have envey, it deserves it.
I am 59 year-old young man, and them all together had something to do with my life.
I've always liked this song. There's something very sensuous about it. The drums along with the double bass driving the pulse over some beautiful chords from Tom Coster? (electric piano) and Schon.
@ricorreze I remembered hearing and reading that he went somewhere with a Guruand spent alot of time away from the guitar to meditate basically a spiritual journey
One of the best concerts I've ever attended. The Notre Dame Acc was a unique venue for this to. Saw them from all sides. Of couse we were trippin fairly hard. But still enjoyed it and remember most of it to this day
Love this track, it puts me in another place. Unearthly Saxaphone intro, awesome bass. floating guitar and keyboards. But yes, it is a revamp of Pharaoh Sanders' Astral Traveling.
This was one of my favorite albums EVER. Why dont we have creativity like this anymore??? most of the shit today is sad and pathetic attempts to channel aggression and anger and making it sound like total shit. Now THIS album and These musicians channeled it right. Ah yes they also channeled love. This is a great album to wine and dine your woman to.
Very interesting, you definitely deserve your nine green thumbs(10 now) for the heart felt comments, we lived at a great time for music before the destructive sinisysm of '77 existed, really glad you have found TRUE music, at its VERY BEST!!
Sorry viidiot I love the Sound of Santana too and I was a teenager as they startet to play his fantastic, unicum sound. But let me tell you that also CHICAGO (I, II, III and IV) are a Masterpiece in rock history. Their 3 first albums were Bouble-LP and Nr. IV was a 4-LP live album, recorded at Carnegie Hall 1971.
I first heard this when I was 16yrs old I had never heard sounds like this coming from a guitar and the crickets in the beginning of the song brilliant it takes you on a journey through space and time (smile) thanks for posting this~
santana's first 4 albums (sry bout not feelin the 5th as much) are as good as ANY four albums cut by ANY band. that's a period there at the end of the sentence, as in PERIOD.
Santana's first 5 albums are stone cold classics. But you've got to hear their live 'Lotus' album where the best tracks from the 5 albums are presented in a mind-blowing sequence over 2 cds.
saw them when this came out, they rocked with the 3rd lp too.

Does anyone know what happened to Carlos during this time? He became VERY spiritual almost overnight. Just curious what the story is. Cheers
