brilliant, you should all check out Omar Ain't nothing like this ... from the same era, same class, bit more downtempo so probably why it doesn't appear in the links ... check it out tho.
Real Love was HUGE at the time! Who IS that they asked??!!!
Why is the Groove Collective CD cover showing for this tune?
I was just about to upload this CD and by coincidence saw this upload. FYI I really like this tune anyway. Saw her live, she seemed doped up! What a party!
This reminds me of a boat party I had on the Thames and all the stress it bought me, suddenly this was put on and we pulled off and everyone starting dancin!
I really really do like this track, it was a big favourite of mine back then but it stands the test of time like Le Vie en rose by Grace Jones that sounds as good now is it did then too...
Great band & so funky! Saw them once at the Jazz Cafe many moons ago & it was an awesome gig. This version is good but the original '91 version does it for me, slightly funkier & with Dee Heron as the vocalist who had a real unique voice! I rememeber this being voted best club single of the year in many year end polls & it's not hard to see why! Loved it!
This incredibly beautiful song, based on a simple but extraordinarily catchy riff, comes from a classic of the early 90s acid jazz/groove soul genre - 'Conspiracy' album
As expected, originated from the UK
Every song on this album is deceptively a gem,
with real instruments used/superb production.
The rap is not that bad, example of a short 'less is more' British female rapster riff from the acid jazz early 90s.
According Mr. Worth it's in NOT GC, although it has a GC flavor. SOunds like something more along the lines of the second Repercussions CD, but alas, it isn't them. It's someone called Drizabone.
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW! THIS is just SIMPLY AMAZING! so is this song by Groove collection OR another group mentioned by laurenworth in the posted comment section?
Richard Worth, what on earth were you guys arguing about...lol. Chords changes, arrangement, who solos first. As for selling out, Idon't feel that way. I loved the song "Lift Off." I thought that whole joint was masterful. One of my favs of all time. As for Incognito, another fav of mine. It's all about the live element. Peace.
Hello this is not the collective. (This is the flute player and founding member writng.) Sorry nothing like us. On the album in the picture we slightly sold out with one slightly smooth vocal track, but made up for that with some other pretty ferocious and out there stuff. Although we opened for incognito we were never really in that bag-much more lumpy after all there are a load of NYC jazz players in the band-we even used to have arguments on stage.
This is Drizabone a duo of two guys called Billy April and Vince Garcia. Their album was called Conspiracy and they were signed to Fourth and Broadway. Two very cool dudes shame they are not making music anymore together.
i love this really good
