  • freshman year 1973!!

  • one of the saddest serie fianle ever!! Nip/Tuck 4 ever on our minds!!!

  • One of my favorite songs. Love Art Garfunkel's angelic voice.

  • Nip/Tuck brought me here !! Up to always Dr. Troy

  • What a beautiful song! And what a fantastic singer!

  • Garfunkel’s hair reminds me Merrill Bobolit

  • Paul Simon may have created the poignant lyrics, but it was Art Garfunkel who truly made Simon and Garfunkel's melodies soar! He must have the most angelic voice I've ever heard. I never realized that this song was penned by the great Jimmy Webb, but I'm not surprised. What an astonishing list of masterpieces were of his making! Thanks so much for posting this lovely song!

  • great song by one of the best American songwiters, Jimmy L Webb (Galveston, Wichita Lineman, MacArthur Park, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, All I Know) and performed to perfection by Garfunkel.

  • @rongnan3 Agreed except for MacArthur Park. That song gives me the willies.

  • Y'know what? Art Garfunkel brought me here.

  • I wish him and Simon could have made it together. They were great. I think Art is more talented, Shhh, don't tell anyone.

  • I love this song. Never knew who sang it until recently. Awesome.

  • This song says everything I feel about the lovely woman I lost because too many people interfered. I shall love Charlotte till the day I die and beyond! I hear this song in my head every day!

  • poor christian troy... :'(

  • Awsome!

  • This song was largely unheard - yet it's the most beautiful song he ever recorded.

  • All time favorite Garfunkel sung Jimmy Webb tune. Flawless.

  • One of greatest voices in music. Art Garfunkel has one of the greatest voices that music has ever known. He and Paul are a wonderful match of voices, their pitches and tones coming together so perfectly. And Paul and Art have retained their voices throughout the years which is unusual for many musicians. It seems that Art and Paul actually honed their skills together over the 60 years they have sang together. Not many friends, musicians, singers, writers, composers, can say that.

  • Underestimated? he's always been considered a top singer, especially by me. I wore this album out years back, and listening to this is sending to me Ebay or Amazon to pick up the CD!

Art Garfunkel's been out of my life too long!

Thank you so much for posting this brilliant Jimmy Webb song

  • This guy has always been totally underestimated. Saw him live in Newcastle and he literaly brought me to tears. His voice live is exquisite and he performed everything from Paul Simon, Bob Dylan to Jimmy Webb perfectly.......a voice with true feeling in it......

  • I am on season 3 of Nip/Tuck and that was the ending of the season two song, and it has been stuck in my head

  • Anyone that likes this should love Art Garfunkel singing We'll Never Say Goodbye' from the soundtrack of the film 'Sing' (1989)

  • I was in High School in75 when I first heard this song. When I turned it up instead of changing the station my two "friends" called me a fag and demanded to get out of the car. That was a long time ago and I still love this song, and I hope they are dead.

  • @joeytwosubs Wow! kinda cold, man. But really, it is a great masterpiece, this song.

  • @joeytwosubs Dead? That sounds a bit much.

  • @joeytwosubs They were dead, they just didn't know. The difference in live and exist is that when you live, you are able to appreciate music like this one. But some ppl just exist, taking space of someone that could be here making the difference. ;-)

  • i never heard this song, until the last show of nip/tuck and i cried

  • @browneyedgurl35 Cool. I have never ever seen nip/tuck, and have dug this smooth tune since around 72'.

  • Art Garfunkel...his face is as beautiful as his voice. Those soulful eyes. No wonder I fell in love at first sight.

  • Goodbye Dr. Troy...

  • nip tuck ending :(

  • Nip tuck

  • wwwprepaidlegalcom/hub/garyard

  • Dammit Carver, why you so creepy?

  • may just be THE most beautiful song ever...

  • @vittwoman It certainly is close, ain't it?

  • OMG! This song brings me so many good memories! Aaaaaw!

  • "When the singer's gone, let the song go on......"

  • NIP/TUCK!!!!!!!!

  • @btdayoungsta06 Just goes to show how powerful Garfunkel's songs are. They can even make mediocre TV look like quality.

  • @btdayoungsta06 Happy to hear that Nip/tuck possesses the virtue of leading people away from the television.

  • the guys voice i stunning!

  • This is my favorite Garfunkel solo song... very pretty and emotional. I would like a version that eschews the power-drama ending, and simply slows and fades into the piano.

  • This is a lovely song that (dare I say) could have been better, had he left out the "bridge over trouble waters" heavy drumming from 2:40 to 3:20. The emotions are already there. This "orgasmic" ending is really overdoing it.

But still, one of my faves of his.

  • When them strings kick into high gear at 1:35 or so, it brings a genuine tear to my freakin' eye.

  • Endings do come to fast, and the past is slow.

  • He sounds a bit like Cat Stevens.

  • 'effin brilliant.....................

  • Back when song writing was about feeling and not commercialism. I can't even listen to the modern stuff.

  • @Ronbo710 I hear ya'.

  • This song will forever remind me of Nip Tuck Season 2 finale....and the Series finale of course.....

  • What a beautiful, sexy man with a golden voice. I have a massive crush on him. Nope -- don't care about the funny hair, I think it's adorable Hahaha!

  • I have had this song on my channel quite a while. I think is perfect for these lovely, tendr songs. I love the way he speaks of real, true to life conditions. We do bruise easily, we are human composed of blood and sinew. One truth spoken of here, we can be bruised. In the grand scheme of things, if people treated others with that which they want - honesty the world would be so much better. Perhaps, just perhaps the world would be as it should be.

  • Such a great voice and such a great song. I played this over and over in my younger days. Lovely.

  • Happy Anniversary mom and dad! 36 yrs ago today you exchanged vows, then danced to this tune:) I love you both so much!

  • This song brought me here because i was watching old episodes of " One Life To live" and this was "Andrew and Cassie's" song during her breakdown after thre death of their baby.....I just love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song brought me here because i was watching old episodes of " One Life To live" and this was "Andrew and Cassie's" song during her breakdown after thre death of their baby.....I just love this song.

  • Nip/Tuck brough me here.

  • me too^^

  • thumps up or niptuck!!!!!!!!!!!! :'((

  • Theres a singing moose in front of the house!

  • great song and awesome voice!

  • My favorite Art Garfunkel solo but like them him better teamed up with Paul Simon what a Dynamic Duo they are.

  • I love this fucking song and I am

  • @TheMbrennan28 you are what?

  • 11 people who don't know what love&great music is! how could you dislike this song?

  • He was a caring roomate. when his roomate was blind, he helped him by reading school's text to him and taught him school work. >3

  • good music, but bad lyrics, really bad, so bad that it is amusing.

  • @YamoondoTheGamer im on season 4 its getting wild lol

  • Wow, timeless..., this is a love song. One of my top ten of all time. From Angel Clare the voice of an angel. Artie is a magic singer.

  • i had forgotten this seldom heard song. thanks for posting it.

  • Art hit #9 in Billboard, 11-10-73. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Great Jimmy Webb song. Shalom, Art!

  • I love Nip/Tuck !!!!

  • Good song

  • Got the vinyl - haven't listened to this for ages and ages - guess I'll have to dig it out and give it a spin. Definitely brings back great memories! Thank you JettRink 50 for posting this!

  • No matter what, whenever I hear this song I will tear up because of Nip/Tuck

  • This song always remonds me of the death of Michael Jackson. I didn't know it was Art Garfunkel.

  • love pauls talent, super love arts BEAUTIFUL VOICE! OF THIS THERE IS NO DOUBT

  • thank you Boy Meets World for taking me to this song!

  • Just like on "Second Avenue," Artie takes a song and makes it his own.

  • How can u not love this song!!!

  • I hear this song at least two or three times a week on the radio where I work.

  • @Ninja691

Really? I haven't heard this one on the radio in YEARS. I remember when it actually it actually got regular air play, but it's been a while.

  • the simplicity and truth of this message is lost on pretty much everyone

  • thank you for one of my favorite songs mixed with pictures I had never seen. what a gift !

  • pretty sure 200,000 of these views are mine.

  • Takes me back to 1974

  • nip tuck brings me here. thx, i'm a different person now. it touches my heart.

  • Nip/Tuck !!!!!!

  • Should the day come when the world ends, everyone should play this song before the end comes...

  • Boy Meets World :)

  • My taste in good music brought me here.

  • Thanks to Nip/Tuck...I heard this song!

  • @reapermanslayer Same lol

  • this is a very loving song.

  • This is my favorite song of all time. The great vocals of Art Garfunkel along with the masterpiece writing of Jimmy Webb.I can`t see a way of topping a song like this.Pure perfection are not descriptive enough words of how good this song is..

  • boy meets world brought me here.

  • This song is perfect for listening to when somebody you'd like to get together with is on your mind.....

  • Always loved Art Garfunkel's voice but I also wanted to say a big thank you to Jim Webb for this and his many other brilliant songs over the years.

  • @tomrichardson83 The seventh season ended with this song? I just finished season 2 and it ended with this.

  • One of the most amazing voices ever recorded. Orbison might have been better, but not MUCH better. I saw Art live a few years ago; he still sounds great, even though he must be pushing 70.

  • Does it really matter where/how young people find this gem? I'm glad they've discovered what the rest of us old folks have enjoyed for years. Welcome aboard.

  • @Irlandese64 I'm 52 and agree with ya..

  • @Irlandese64 Thanks! I'm 21 and first heard this song covered by Five For Fighting when I was 16 from the animated movie Chicken Little. It made me want to get their version and when I realized it was a cover of an older original, it led me to to Art Garfunkel's performance. Just amazed me at how modern it still sounds

  • @Irlandese64 my crush on art garfunkel brought this 21 year old here. (and my crush on his sweet, angelic voice)

  • @WildAlaskanBlossom I have a terrible crush on Art, as well! I wonder if he has any idea of how many fans he has that enjoy his angelic voice and face every single day? I found out recently, that he had walked right past my house in the early 80's....(Sigh), if only I had known....I daydream about that!

  • @jules608123 Now you've made me cry (:o)

  • @lewars1912 I hope it was the good kind of cry, like when I listen to Bridge Over Troubled Water....never fails to bring tears. It stirs so many emotions inside of me. S&G's music, and especially Art's voice, is my life's "soundtrack." I am going to NYC in December and I will be looking into the crowds, hoping to get a glimpse of Art somewhere.

  • @Irlandese64 I hadn't heard this beautiful song in years and it was brought back into my life by Nip/Tuck. I went out and bought it the following day, and I'm eternally grateful to the producers of that show for reminding me of what I had been missing.

  • @Irlandese64 You guys aren't old, you are in your prime! :D

  • 1973....autumn....first love...

  • What a voice! What a voice! The vocal range, so rich, so strong and yet gentle. One has to be born with this voice, a voice that is just spectacular beyond belief!.

Also, thanks for the many photos of Art Garfunkel, especially like the very last one on the video at 4:00 until the ending. Great!

  • @folkmusicgirl I agree 100% what a voice, what talent, he brings a richness(and feeling) to this song & so many others...this songs touches a chord that resonates with most anyone that has been in a relationship...

  • @folkmusicgirl Yes, I couldn't agree more! I loved the photo at 4:00 as well. Beautiful.

  • @jules608123 I love his photograph at 1:28. Art looks very nice in a black turtle neck. But all of his photos emanate a certain humility within him. Even while he was with Paul Simon I always got the feeling that Art was a genuinely humble person.

  • would you rather have this song be obscure, or get discovered by my generation? I went and looked it up right away after seeing it on the show. Calm down old man, go drink some prune juice, you sound mad and backed up

  • I "discovered" this song in the early 90's when Michael Mcdonald and Amy Howland sang it as a duet andthe song was featured on the soap One Life To Live.

I forgot the couple it was played for but I believe it was Cord and Tina

  • I've seen this so many times where people get all freaked out when a "sitcom" uses a song, and people discover/like it. Who cares how people hear about it. Its a beautiful song :)

  • This song is my favorite along with 99 Miles to L.A. Get better soon, I kept all my

tickets to last years tour that never was, let's hope you and Paul will be able to do

    that tour this year.

  • superb

  • Message to Inkjet50 or jetink50 or whatever your name is. You have no right or business removing my commens or anyone else comments from the internet. I posted a response to this asshole who dissed me thoroughly just because I made a comment that this song (all I know) makes me sad. Why would I make a comment criticizing myself you DIPSHIT. Do not! Do not! Do not! ever remove my comments or anyone elses comments again.

  • Garfunkel, Ringo Starr, and John Oates should be in a band.

  • I can't listen to this song because it makes me so sad.

  • What the hell is Nip/Tuck?

  • @howdidienduphere It was a show on FX. The series ended in '09. I can't believe you've never heard of it. It's a great show.

  • Doesn't everyone Love Art Garfunkle (and Paul Simon too. When I was in college I have all their albums.

  • Man, I cry every time I hear this song.

  • 1973 from Angel Clare with tracks penned by J.Webb and Van Morrison and Osibisa and a feeling of greatness that is magnified by a beautiful production. It stands alone.

  • Art expresses in his voice, words (accompanied by equally matching musicals) the way I felt when my first boyfriend "dropped" me. This song always reminds me of that first hearbreak: it changed my future. I love this song as it expresses how our hearts hurt when "love" causes pain. Though rather have a "hurt heart" and be alive to love again! Love Arts voice, and it's still wonderfully delicate and joyful, he can add emotions to any song he sings.I'm an "Arthur Garfan" man!

  • One of my all time favorites. What a great ong

  • Oooh...I feel so old...What is Nip and Tuck?! I simply remember this BEAUTIFUL song from 1974...Did someone ruin this song for something tacky ala 2010? :-(

  • @mrob75 I too cannot connect this great Garfunkel classic with any program on tv. Maybe the program is good, I know the song is.

  • The pain of life is best told in the lyrics of All I know. Thank you Art.

  • Jimmy Webb was / is a fantastic lyricist. Art Garfunkel has the voice of an angel. Absolutely stunning duet. God love them both.

  • Sounds like 9 people have no taste in music. Either that or they just have no class.

  • Absolutely outstanding rendition of the man and his music. Thank you.

  • It looks like that they found nine ASSHOLES who voted "dislike" of the song.

    What were you expecting...AC/DC?

    Assholes.

  • Nine people don't like this song. Tough crowd !

  • "Endings always come too fast,They come too fast, But they pass too slow, I love you And that's all I know"

Those are some of the greatest lines I have ever heard in a song. Cherish everything in your life that you love now.

  • 9 people bruise too easily...= (

  • Also love" The Only Living Boy In New York" in the new Honda comercials.

  • The way that Art sings the ending of this song gives me good chills...EVERYTIME.

  • Egu022 - what a splendid idea.

  • Happy birthday to Gartfunkel. :)

  • Amazing voice.

  • This song is going to be played in my funeral.

  • Cory & Topanga's breakup song on Boy Meets World. That montage always made me sad. :(

  • what a great song he has agreat voice

  • anyone else only know this song because of Boy Meets World?

  • @theraginazncajun

    yes! so sad

  • The best version of this wonderful Jimmy Webb classic. Beautiful ! Thanks for posting

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • A Classic from a classical man with a voice from Heaven. Too bad our kids (icluding mine, weren't exposed to this kind of music.) My oldest daughter was born in '75 so she did hear what mom was playing around the house, so I guess she was. I used to sing to her, while rocking her to sleep....Debbie Boone's You Light Up My Life. And I recently exposed that to her. She said, OMG...I know that song....where do I know that song from? hehehehee. I'll tell her soon!

    Great singers, great music!

  • @Jaye0918 That is a very nice story. Thanks for sharing

  • yo i first heard this song on Nip/Tuck. Ive been in love with this song ever since...I LOVE THE PIANO RIFFS in the BEGINNING AND END!!!

  • This song just washes over you like a gentle, warm wave from the sea. Absolutely gorgeous.

  • great song!

  • Gorgeous song sung so beautifully by Art Garfunkel. I loved it in 1974 and I still love it just as much. Kudos to Jimmy Webb for writing it.

  • How can anyone thumbs-down this song?? This is a beautiful song!

  • I always thought of my children when I heard this song.

After all these years, I still do.

  • So beautiful singing and song!!! Love it. Thanks for posting.

    Grandma Mary

  • check out the alan cumming version...... so good.

  • That afro got such soul. Years back when I was working in NYC special projects office,I proposed a reunion concert of Simon and Garfunkel to be held in a festival on the 57th street bridge. Transit Auth. agreed to close the bridge for a Sun afternoon. We approached Paul and he said " NO. Absolutley Not. No no no never. Forget it. I will never work with Art again. Never. A year later it happened, in central park, when we realized the bridge would never hold the crowds drawn

  • Suba la canción "And I Know (Love Will Find Away)", del mismo LP de Garfunkel "Fate For Breakfast".

  • this is definately kimber and christains theme song
