I've found another glitch with Lakhesis, I call it "invincible Lahkesis."
It's when Lahkesis just won't show her "O" sign above her head near the final mirror. She chases Kratos all around - stands back to the mirror - chases Kratos around again - ...(the fight lasts about 25min till I decide to restart). Not sure what possible cause of it, I just fight her in the air more often rahter than ground fight.
This is next on my list, once I finish TM run. Got the glitch going and have a save too, just need to try killing Lakhesis using rushes and see how far it goes.
On that square and it's relation to Kratos, my theory is it is not a personality's shadow but Kratos' halo, you know, like all gods are supposed to have halos. And his being a square one shows why he doesn't fit with others at Olympus. Something about square pegs and round holes comes to mind.
With new evidence that's emerged lately, it's semi-safe to say that Kratos' rushes do not do damage unless he is swimming in the normal pose. Also, since you can't do grabs while swimming, you couldn't finish her off.
By all means give it a go if you want. There is much I don't know about swimming in here. Who knows if there's still a secret to be found?
Aha, then it seems it's not possible, yet. I tried to find a way to get back to normal swimming stance. I believe this change in stance was put in by devs simply to avoid such a scenario. This is one for wasted glitch potential. Currently am swimming at Lakhesis with Infinite Time [never broke the crystal].
Only if there was SOME water in the Throne Of Lahkesis, would have been an amazingly useful glitch... Infinite Time Slowdown for entire fight ):
Also, once Throne loads, entire water in the earlier area is unloaded. I got back to the area with save point and there was nothing but blackness, no water to even get back to swimming stance so that normal swimming stance could be activated.
Trying to open chests breaks Kratos out of Blades Sledge stance, but only to end up in a stance where he is frozen as if trying to open a chest. Again, that stance won't be able to do any damage.
Speaking of the swimming stances, Kratos usually goes into "blade sled"-stance whenever something is loading and reverts back to normal after the thing has loaded properly. For Lahkesis fight, I'm not completely sure but the game might be on stand-by for the next FMV, never allowing Kratos to return to normal (and deal damage).
As you can see, due to an unknown reason Kratos breaks out of swimming after dying in the vid. I have no idea why it happens, though. Do you think that might work for a solution? (if time was slowed indefinitely, time could be saved at the Lahkesis + Atropos fight)
ya this glitch is already known. but have u find the place somewere near the cardbord picture where kratos blood starts decreasing automaticly and his position also change.its good that u understood how to pass the middle circular chamber.
outstanding. The way the central fates mirror physically linked to the Sword of the Gods bridge quite surprised me. As always, strange and unusual stuff you are doing here akheon. Kudos to you for doing so.
shall I read chumps as inquisitive minded individuals?
It doesn't "link" to the swordbridge as such but one location can be seen from the other. I was expecting cockblocking on a par with the Atlas cutscene.
This makes more sense than the white square far below the Colossus.
I think the square is actually a symbol for Kratos' personality's "shadow". It is a white, orderly figure, everything the Kratos we know is not, amidst complete darkness (subconscious).
Interesting theorem, perhaps one a little too deep for me at this hour.
Do you have any ideas as to why this "personality shadow" is located where it is?
does it follow Kratos during his progress through the game. Does it change in size depending on his mood? Or depending on the weather? is it smaller around Typhons Cavern?
I haven't seen other such squares, but I now feel this is an urgent matter to look into.
Maybe the square is visible and obvious because it is still the beginning of the game. Kratos is especially angry, having been freshly betrayed, and as such his "shadow" too is more unbalanced and prominent, albeit hidden from the normal player's view (like subconscious things tend to be).
I'm enjoying this series so far. I don't think I'll ever pick up my unfinished New Game Titan Speedrun - I was only shaving off seconds from shen's SDA through ultra refined running, then was going to use the swim glitch in NG conditions. But it's still great to see this game getting broken apart. Still stands as one of my favourite video games.
Best to leave those speedruns alone, they can't be good for your nerves, continually restarting the ER is bad enough for me, for each restart to be from a loading point would be a nightmare

A halo? That is a viable explanation as well.

Infinite Time Slowdown? Are you sure?

Yep, am sure. Need a pic [seeing vid on mycellphone would be useless.
Dying... aha, herein lies the rub my friend.
Even if you restart from checkpoint, you lose Infinite Time so can't use death to get back to normal swim mode.

What is that picture on 3:35?
Skabuf 3 years ago
It's Athena statue holding the sword Kratos uses in the last battle of GoW 1.

So you went and found a new way to activate it (in that room). Unexpected.
Didn't seem like your charges were hitting her. Too bad.
BigVEE 3 years ago
What was the old way? The same way they normally skip the whole room (e.g. over the large face statue)?
AKheon 3 years ago
It was. Can't recall if that way allowed for travel to Lahkesis or not though.

Near the cardboard picture? Nope, didn't find something like that. What could it be?

WTF? It doesn't link anywhere, it's just a cardboard picture set up by the designers to fool chumps like, uh... never mind.
*twiddles thumbs*

Cold weather always has that effect on me.
