  • Hey what type of lights are down by the highway bar and were did you get them , never seen those setup like that looks like a good idea.

  • @demonichalf I got the lights off of ebay and I can't recall the user id but they had the lights listed as driving lights for "Rat Bikes". They added a lot of light when driving at nights. I hope this helps.

  • Sweet re-paint work! Where can I get a pair of those carbon fiber looking mirrors and signaling lights? Those are a few things I like to change first but definitely would want my bike to have this color schemes event though the factory red and black tone is an eye catcher already. Hopefully I will be riding my 85 Nighthawk 700S by the end of the week. Again, nice job on the re-paint.

  • @0MotorHead5 Thanks for the compliment. I purchased both the mirrors and turn signals from ebay. Sorry, but I do not remember the sellers user id.

  • Excellent! Go man go!

  • I like the way the front fender looks too against the black brace,I loved my knightawk S

  • @jenniferalls If you are looking for a 700 look on craigslist in Northern California Silicon Valley/San Jose. My friend just picked one up. Showroom condition. Never been messed with or modified in any way.

  • amazing job

  • As an original owner of a 1985 Nighthawk 700S, I think you did a great job with it. The only change I would have made is going with a black front fender with red trim instead of all red. I think the 700S is one of the best looking bikes ever made. It was way ahead of its time when it was built. They are still good performers; even by todays standards.

  • Thanks for the comment. Actually, the front fender has a red stripe to match the rest of the bike. I added a red center stripe that goes across the fender, fairing, gas tank and rear fender. I really enjoyed the nighthawk and I agree these bikes surprise a lot of people.

  • @jenniferalls what about the yamaha zrx 1100 or 1200? i've got my eye set on that after my 700

  • I like those mirrors

  • amazing paint job dude

  • Looks great!!!

  • How'd you do it? Ball peen hammer?

  • No, I used a Polyurethane teardrop mallet. They can be purchased from TP tools and equipment.

  • did you modify the tank yourself? Cool bike.

  • Thanks. I did all of the work myself. I actually sold the bike during the Winter and I am already missing the Nighthawk.

  • Nice Job, I was reading about your repaint on the nighthawk forums. I just got an 85 CB:SC in early October. Live in Wisconsin. We had some decent fall weather so i was able to get out and get my first 300 miles on the bike. Temp looks like it's finally dropping for good now though so going to get to work on my bike's body. where did you get your aftermarket mirrors from? i've tried looking but have had no luck.

  • Thanks for the compliment. I actually got the mirrors from an eBay store named "ClassicCycleParts-Online". I recently sold the bike, but it was a blast to ride over the Summer.

  • ok, cool, the bike looks great.

  • where did u get those crash bars from?

  • Thanks for the comment. I got the crash bars from a friend. I could not find them anywhere online, so he sold me his.

  • wow, That looks so awsome.
