The contrast in attitude and likeability between Bruno Brookes and John Peel is astonishing.. I'm going to use it as a teaching tool for how not to be a cunt.
@ARF1LMS It isn't all BBC Radio 1 news bulletins are done by a live newsreader;one he/she has said goodnight, they play a Radio 1 Jingle and close the faders then switch on the off air test tone then after a few minutes the MW/FM transmitters go to reduced power on AM1053/1089kHz and then off.
@AnthonyUK No disrespect, but i work at a radio station. When you 'Voice Track' something it means to record. It is quite easy to say, 'goodnight', and I dont know what radio 1 you listen to but it is non stop music throughout the night as on most stations. Sorry, But its true.
@ARF1LMS I meant when R1 was 5am-2am hours in the late 80's,firstly it expanded to 1am closedown then 2am closedown. They always finished when the hours were expanded with a closing news summary, goodnight and jingle to silence then test tone and transmitter power reduction and final transmitter switch off.
