  • This song doesn't capture beauty or ugliness, joy or sadness, space or time, mind or matter... It is only the lonliness of riding on a foreign train to an unknown destination, the sadness of your parents having been taken from you. Joe Hiashi truly captured the very essence of the scene in his music, which is why he is such an AMAZING composer :3

  • I really should count myself lucky to have this as my first Anime.

  • Therein that piece of music lays the beauty of the world.

  • @TheKira397 Maybe because it's from Spirited Away...

  • what a beautiful sign :)

  • You know what makes me sad.. that I probably won't live to see another movie that affected me as much as spirited away..true masterpiece

  • my favorite image in the movie is while the song is playing, chihiro is deep in thought looking out the window, her profile being reflected off of the glass. I want to learn to draw just so i can draw that.

  • I find it hard how a teen finds music like this beautiful and moving, when no one around them notices the overwhelming beauty i see in it. Thumbs up if u feel the same way about this magical piece.

  • you know i dont know why people dislike this its a wonderful peace of music that can set u into a world of magic and giant pigs in bath tubs with black blobs with a face. yet its beautiful.=D

  • mesmerising

those dislikers dont know good music

  • why there's only one like button? i want to give a thousand like for this song. it never fails to give me goosebumps, and forced me to drop a single tears. love it. totally one of the greatest piece on earth.

  • nobody understands my passion for music, whoever appreciates this song can agree

  • This music is really beautiful, not to mention that the movie was awesome as well.

  • Last year I went to my hometown with a night train. It was around 11 PM - 12 AM when I was still awake and looked out from the window (my seat was next to the window.) Things were pitch dark outside, only occasional lights from local people's residence. Then this song played in my MP3.

And somehow, just somehow, I felt like Chihiro :)

This song is awesome, and Joe Hisaishi is awesome :)

  • this song always gives me a weird feeling...

    Melancholy and sadness...

  • Can someone give me a link where i can download this song?

  • @MavrikMGS

Just go to Gendou's Anime Music (type it into google). It's also worth it to just buy the soundtrack because it's all amazing.

This song makes me want to take a train.

  • I listened to this song as I was traveling across the country at night by train, and it just made the trip a billion times better.

  • Joe Hisaishi is a genius.

  • I cannot find the words to explain how much this piece means to me. I have yet to find any piece of music as beautiful as this one.

  • Fuck I actually cried....

    Damn what a song...

  • Close Your Eyes.Feel The Feeling Of Chihiro......

  • this song sound so lonely..my eyes already turn red n swollen..

  • Hisaishi has something mystical behind his music. For many artists, I would listen to their songs and then change about halfway through or something along those lines. But when I listen to Hisaishi, something keeps me listening all the way to the end no matter how many times I listen to his songs.

  • @WildDiscoDance she really said that :0 no offense but I HATE YOUR MOM!

  • this is so beautiful

  • My mom said this is shit.

    brb killing my mom

  • @WildDiscoDance Who's your mom? Kesha?

  • @WildDiscoDance My mum said the exact same thing. She needs a new pair of ears.

  • @WildDiscoDance Here, have a chainsaw. :)

(Don't try this at home, children)

  • somehow this piece of music give me a feeling that I'm waiting for one that I love at the 6th station but she doesn't seems to appear and the sky is getting darker and darker T.T simply beautiful piece of music

  • BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER CREATED FOR A MOVIE. That's that.

  • Some of us feel the music inside them, others won't be touched event by the most beautiful sunset. this music to me is an opening to the world of beauty and poetry, miyazaky's movies with joe hisaishi's music make a fantastic harmony, that makes us rediscover the beauty and the poetry, which we forgot how to appreciate in our modern, occidental stupid world.

  • Modern music has no soul.

This has one. It's living inside us all.

  • awesome ♥

  • well yeah Hisaishi is an amzing composer, love all the movies

  • I can't stop crying...so beautiful!!!

  • I feel frustrated when I listen to Joe Hisaishi, I can't never find the words to describe how beautiful and how important his music is to me.

  • It somehow makes sense to live another day.. Thank you Joe..

  • 12 people had just turned to pigs.:p

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY BATH TOKENS!!!

  • @aredale LOL

  • @aredale cool man

  • @aredale LMFAO

  • This is the best scene in the movie.

  • the twelve people who disliked were spirited away and were never able to get back to re-like it. :D

  • i love how he can really capture this moment in the film with his music

  • 12 people were currently deaf in their voting

  • This was my favorite scene from the movie. Riding in the somber train rushing through an ocean, passing by a lonely house entrapped by the risen water; passing by the doppelgangers of forgotten people; passing by the obscure neon signs of a cityscape. Reaching the eventual destination of a dark and strange forest, to be greeted by a courteous and endearing streetlamp.

What an image. It's a beautiful movie.

  • @macchias You've captured it perfectly... I don't know why so many people can relate to this - travelling in trains as children I suppose after a long day out and seeing all the shadowy adults come home from work, and then coming back to a nice warm house.

  • @macchias wonderful depiction with words. It´s one of those few songs that truly fit a scene. It gave such a strange mix of emotions that I will never get bored of that. I sensed melancholy, peace, the feeling of being nomanslands with an uncertain sensation of what the journey will lead us to.

  • @macchias that was beautiful. i totally imaged that in my head.

  • This is amazing..almost brought me to tears remembering the scene this was in..

  • wow! the people have to learn to be more timely ... 12 people were late and missed the train ... Poor's

  • Love the piano. Wish I hadn't given up piano.

  • @PicoPicoHammah It's never too late to start again =)

  • @PicoPicoHammah me too :(

  • Joe Hisaishi ist ein Gott am Piano *-*

  • Best piece in the movie. Hard to tell that though, because all the music in this movie is so breathtaking by the end we don't have enough oxygen left to process how amazing this piece is. ;)

  • Is it bad if i cry my eyes out?

  • 1:38 and 3:09

  • Almost makes me cry. Absolutely beautiful.

  • beautiful...

  • Best Song Ever!

  • this guy is plain genius!

  • This music is so clean, so cathartic. One can't help appreciating it's beauty.

  • there were 2244 tickets for the train, 11 people didnt get any because it sold out.

  • a masterpiece. so beautiful. love miyazaki love hisaishi!

  • it's just plain beautiful~

  • i'm the 2222nd passanger..

  • 2,211 people didnt look back

  • Hey you guys, I finally got my website back up. studioghiblifilms(dot)com

Check it out. Most of studio ghibli films should be uploaded onto that website. You won't be able to download them, but you can watch them. :]

    Enjoy!!

  • This truly brought me to tears at how beautiful it is. =3 Thanks Hisaishi

  • 11 people forgot their names.

  • 11 PEOPLE LOOKED BACK....

  • The first 2 notes gave me chills :) love this song, love studio gibili!!!

  • There are no memories, but I'm nostolgic all the same. How beautifully peculiar...

  • Beautiful Movie! Great music! Master Piece ! :3

  • 11 People Looked Back

  • How can anyone dislike this composition? How is that actually possible? This composition is beyond amazing, made by a complete genius and some retarded ignorant fools feel they have the right to insult such brilliance? What a joke!

  • Beautiful

  • 11 people were captured before they came over the bridge

  • May buy the Spirited Away soundtrack, it's one of my favourite movies and I haven't watched it in awhile. Every track on it is beautiful!

  • Joe Hisaishi's music is more beautiful than Beethoven if you ask me. No disrespect to Beethoven of course, but I enjoy this way more.

  • My mouse is already over the 'replay' so all I have to do is click :D

  • wow, I'm traveling through this piece, lovely.

  • Omg, I'm 10 and I always listen to this music. None of my friends understand me. This music is beautiful and because I listen to it, I'm more cultured than my peers. Did I mention I was 10?

  • @pixelated111

    haha I love you.

  • oh my god i just burst into tears. I cried through this whole song, and the whole time I didn't know why I was crying. I was crying because i felt so lost but so at home. I was crying because i felt to beautiful and yet so invisible. I was crying because for the first time in a long time my soul felt right.

thank you joe hisaishi, you remind me how to love music and myself.

  • i wanna cry. i just wish that this was the music...no masterpiece that you hear on the radio instead of that shity pop music.

  • And this is why im moving to japan...its a beautiful place

  • Sometimes people write songs that are truly powerful.

This song is truly a masterwork.

  • 11 people forgot their name

  • Serious they should have these kinds of music at church, not saying the church music are bad, but it would be a nice addition.

  • Thank-you, Hisaishi-san.

  • this is the kind of music that makes you feel; it's beautiful.

  • this guys music is what i need to relax at times

  • Fucking brilliant piece of music.

  • WOW, this one is my favorite from the OST, but e never seen on live. Amazing he could deliver the same sound i listen on the CD. This is so beautiful.

  • There are not words to describe the work of Mr. Hisashi

  • why would anyone hate this? it's beautiful!

  • will you people stop bitching about pop music?! Pop music is superficial! It's like a fad! It never lasts. Everyone complains about how musics going to hell when there has always been shitty pop music throughout the decades! and you know what its forgotten! This music however WILL survive!

  • - Insert life story about Sophisticated music -

  • is just like if this be transporting me to the sixth station... alone... so far away... in the middle of nothing, but, of anyway i'm fine, enjoying the place and the situation, is like to be talking with me, but without word... simply amazing

  • Joe Hisaishi is like Hayao Miyazaki.... just a genius like our world have never seen. At the beginning of a song of him it's just like you loose gravity and travel to his world, because that's his gift... to let the people pass into his world... and when the song ends, it's like you get again to the reality. Soo a good suggestion for world freedom is to listen an endless time to his music ^^)

  • What's the instrument that picks up at 2:31? Is is a violin or a viola? Or neither?

  • is this really live? the piano sounds exactly like the studioversion, just perfect

  • one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded

  • I'm tearing up just by listening to this. This is so beautiful.

  • Music for the Soul

  • Whoever harbouring the impression of the female violinist at 1:23 having an extraordinary beauty, thumbs up!

  • @forgetthesavageries ....agree very much.

  • i trie not to cry,but it's inpossible . Why can there be artists like him. Such a touching song... :)this is art...

  • I can't believe everyone is listening to teenage music. Whoever likes Mr. Hisaishi, is the big time best, whoever doesn't, well, they will end up exactly as 5pointechik's comment. And will never come out of No Face's stomach.

  • Ten people just got eaten by No Face.

  • I can not stop listening to this, it's beautiful music

  • A true example of excellent music. How people can listen to rap and country and metal when something this beautiful exists is beyond my range of understanding...

  • @sbnemesis77 because we have soared to a place where nobody has ever reached...

  • i once liked rammstein and heavy metal and screamo music until one day i found it was evil i really dont enjoy that kind of music anymore i find it disgusting but i find this music beautiful and empowering the soul

  • it's a genius like mozart

  • THIS SONG IS SOOOO~ GRACEFUL !!!!!!!!!

  • this my favorite lil wayne song.

  • omfg i get goosebumps

  • so beautiful......

  • This is perhaps the most melancholic song I´ve listened to from Hisaishi´s soundtracks. And one of the most melancholic songs I´ve ever listened to in my life.

That scene in the train, with the landscape in blue and grey, with no dialogues, portraying that strange world of shadow - alike travellers, that stop in mysterious cities of the forgotten...

It fills my soul with a kinda peaceful melancholy. And how can melancholy be nice? No one knows. Only Joe Hisaishi does, when creating this music.

  • This is amazing. ♥

  • Someone fucking remove Katy Perry from the Suggestions. What an insult to this wonderful composer.

  • wow how is it that someone can create such beautiful stirring music, you get goose bumps from the intro... amazing

  • Why is shoot you friends related to this :<

  • Fantasting! Listen to this had increased my imagination.

  • beautiful, speechlesssss

  • Currently doing my exam, and this song is getting me through this streeful time. Its amazing how much it relaxes me! After exams without a doubt going to learn how to play this on the piano :).

  • @bleachmaniac2007 Best exam music ever (;

  • xD *fan girl squee*

  • 7 people did not reach the station

  • @soyharuka971

    Niiice.

  • @soyharuka971 I agree

  • @soyharuka971 Lame, old-fashioned, unoriginal, and retarded joke

  • @davidsmffei ok, it's your problem not mine

  • i swear joe hisaishi's music moves me to tears

  • amazing and beautiful

  • 1:40 amazing

  • Someone made an accurate model of the bath house and surrounding town in minecraft.

    I spend entire afternoons there.....

  • The scenery is so beutiful. So amazing. I agree with you all.

  • Me too, when i was like 8 or 10 yearsa old, i walked into the cinema. I didnt know what movie it was, but when i went out, it was like an adventure. The music is so peaceful. So sad, yet touching.

  • I remember when I first saw this movie, i was like 9 years old, i loved the movie but for some reason I forgot it. A year ago I was talkin to the girl i like and she recomended the movie to me. I started to watch it and when I listened to this song I suddenly rememered that, when I watched it as a little kid, I cried for no reason. And then I stared to cry again, this song brought some nice memories from the past, my childhood. I think this song can touch the most hardened heart

  • I just turned 18 about an hour ago, and is what we say in Denmark an "adult" now. I think it is very ironiccally that I happen to find this song now. It's like taking a train ride back to when I was a child watching cartoons and disney films. I might be grown up, but no matter how old you are, you will never let go of your childhood, and what influences it had on you... Thank you for taking me back to my childhood Joe Hisaishi

  • I think Hisaishi is the great composer of our generation, and definitely on of the best of the 20th/21st Century.

  • The scene of the train is something wonderful ...

  • 7 people's trains got delayed

  • @MissAshleighSpice Rather, they just hit swamp bottom! *shot*

  • Favourite Movie of all time. Favourite soundtrack of all time. My favourite track is 'The Stink God' :)

  • why dislike it?

    why?

  • @ekouliev

the closer they get to the computer, the more of a monster they become, like no face :)

  • none of my friends would appreciate this music, they're all following the crowd of typical teenage music. music without lyrics shows clear emotion that effects the listener and stamps a mark where they'll never forget where they've heard this. i feel like i'm the only one who feels like this, anyone else feel the same?

  • @JamieGray94 I feel exactly the same bro. If I was to show my friends this they would think I was gay or something they don't appreciate music like this.

  • @TheGameMaster00 same heree... but I won't stop listening to this beautiful music. They don't appreciate this type of music cuz they have no music talent

  • @JamieGray94 There are many people in this world who enjoy music. Looking at just a few people around you may be misleading. There is nothing wrong with opening your heart and mind and not following the croud... after all its the only way to change the world around you.

  • @JamieGray94 YES.

  • @JamieGray94 I do too dude, but I also like some chart music, I quite like Lady Gaga, Only because I know shes a great pianist :P.

  • @JamieGray94 i totally agree with wat ur saying, the clear emotion nd how it really leaves u lingering for more. but sometimes u hear a perfect lyrics going to the perfect music combining together to become something that gets stuck in ur head forver!!! nd sometimes wen a lyric is stuck in ur head u just sing it outloud nd other people come to know it. if a master composer creates a perfect song regardless of it having or not having lyrics a song can leave an impression.

    that is just my feeling

  • @JamieGray94 I feel ya man! I hate most new modern pop

  • @JamieGray94

All I can think of when I see your comment is that you think that everyone is dumb for listening to popular music and forming their own opinions.

  • @JamieGray94 Every sensible person feels the same. This music can't be described with words.

  • @JamieGray94 Amen.

  • @JamieGray94 i feel vary much the same when i here this...it almost makes me cry

  • @JamieGray94 Apparently more people than you think. I'm one of those that surprises people every time they step in my office and hear the music playing. They always expect me to be listening to either rap (which I like to some extent) or another form of popular mainstream music.
