It is a strange age of strange physics. You solve some Rube Goldberg puzzles so that a marble can pass through 4 obsticles without problems. Then you are sent up and placed in this marble to get through it all.
Now if only someone can think of a fun way of building this in real life (or at least the man in a marble on mad tracks part, never mind about the obsticles).
This game was my favorite from the series. It had so much depth and quality, it was a unique experience. Plus this marble ride was fantastic. I loaded my save so many times just to take this ride again and again. Awesome.
Magnificent visuals, thanks for posting this Awesome scene Ed256. A question, at 1:05, another marble was seen briefly on another rail, is it a counterweight or another traveler perhaps?
You could say that, I've played 'Myst,' and 'Riven,' and I'm getting to 'Exile' now, it's Outstanding how they improved the format of this game, btw, thanks for pointing out the other counterweight marble at 1:08.
you may want to play it. If you've already done Riven (without cheating, of course) then it'll be easy sailing from here. Riven has been voted as the hardest.
I remember the absolute *shock* when I solved the last puzzle and this happened the first time I played the game. Must have gone back to it half a dozen times just to watch it, and it always made me just a little bit motion sick.
Then when your strapped down in the marble, you'd be going in circle's inside, and vomit more than you would without seat belts. Also, it's a fictional world, so they probably wouldn't know what a seatbelt was.
This was my favorite too. I was so proud of myself when I completed this age! The way the designers knew how to create the point of view of being inside a marble moving through the tracks so smoothly and seamlessly is nothing short of amazing!:D
this age is my favorite in the game; I love to watch the sunset on one side of the horizon, the storm on the other, and the twilight right above; it's probably the most beautiful of the three ages
Yes please, make some blue prints right away!CHOP CHOP! My fat ass wants to ride a big see thru ice marble or maybe they can just roll my perfect marble shaped body thru the track system!:D
I was so proud of myself when I solved this age puzzle. This is my favorite video sequence too. Like those virtual rollercoaster rides they have at the state fair!:D
it was awesome to solve the puzzles before realising its all one big elaborate set up! really suprised me. ppl who haven't played the game (or this age) may not appreciate it but nevertheless very cool
I wish they made this coaster in real life ... I'd ride it!

I remember playing this for the first time and being scared that I might have not gotten it right. What if a sound wave arch shatters me too?? :)

Watch it closely there, and then watch the bottom of the screen at 1:08. Counterweight. I take it you haven't played the game.

Yeah, totally one of the best moments in the whole series. My other 'wow' moment I think was the Moiety Cave sequence in Riven.
