absolutely pathetic the recording companies need to get with the times and stop trying to pretend that they can police all material that becomes available .
although you cant hear the audio here belive me if you look hard enough there are lots of places on the net that broadcast it and what you should do is copy and paste it everywhere .
Intellectual property is bullsh1t. The only reason property claims makes sense in the first place is because of scarcity, of which the digital format makes a non-issue. The idea of preventing people who want to hear an artist's work from being able to do so is a dinosaur and corporate bastards need to realize this or go away.
I've been listening to rock and everything in between since 1956, and I've never heard a more beautiful voice, male or female, in all those years. This man was a classic when he was 18 years old.
@snowngeorgia Yes I think it will be a long time before we have a person that can make us feel this good, a voice that gets into your heart and soul, I have trouble explaining how this man has efected my life, I did hear him say in an interview years ago when he said his voice was a gift from god.
...ultimately, everything we left in a stolen life, a life that we have not ordered it, all that remains for us personally, are DREAMS. Here...no one can hurt us, nobody can touch us !!!

@capnvideo2006 sorry but ELVIS "THE KING " ain't wrong, Orbisons voice was great, yes & often compared to elvis coz he was a baritone singer & elvis wasn;t but the reason ELVIS got the TITLE... THE KING & had best voice in the world coz his voice was more deep & powerful than any other artist, elvis voice still haunts & lives on after 33 years, THATS A FACT, dont get me wrong i like roy,he's mysterious & a mezmerising voice that ELVIS & other singers liked & respected, though didnt deliver enuf
@OmniSurveyor i say this is true, this is what exactly they stated his voice was, respectively, "the greatest and most distinctive they had ever heard" Roy on the other hand said " we've all made it cause of him ( elvis)" & " I hope that nobody will ever forget how he influenced as all -he isnt just a historical phenomenon, but rather something very lasting" They both had a huge amount of respect and liked each others talents, even being an elvis fan, Roy had a magic voice that was so unique.
@Count22 With great respect to a fellow Big O fan, this was a hit in the UK in 1963 a while before his wife died, but it was one one of his greatest songs never the less.
@Count22 Fair enough , but most of of Roys fans would know " In Dreams " was recorded long before Claudette died, so how on earth could it be destroying his image to say so, the man could do no wrong in my book.
The Big O and the Great Gene (Pitney) -- 2 of the Top 3 male "pop" vocalists of the entire 20th Century. Wow. We lost them both too, way, way too soon.
What i find amazing about roy is the compleat lack of evidence of any vocal depleation over the years like EVERY singer i listned to ,mick jagger ,bob dylan paul mcartney ,take your pick choose anyone you like roy still sounds like he did in the 50s truely amazing indeed and such a humble man and frustratingly...... untrained .He sings live consistantly like he was in a recording studio with no 2nd takes and yes without showing off he throws octaves around in some songs that is unrivaled
Roy was a natural baritone, but since 1961 writers have speculated that he had a three or four-octave range...that's is an amazing range for anyone. Most singer would be lucky to get 2-3.
@amyleigh02 Elvis's management bought the 'king' label. EP is the king of rock like budweiser is the king of beers. It'a an advertising slogan not an accolade.
this song still brings tears to my eyes; many moons ago the Big O helped me through a rough 'n difficult time with his music. I might say he saved my life.
I was one of the lucky one to be present at that concert. If I remember right this concert was given at 5th August 1982 in Austin City. And I can assure you it was a great concert especially the act of Crying was great. With this song Roy did something what he didn't do so much nl to repeat a piece of the song and at the end of the show the audience's applaus was so loud that the Big O returned for repeating Running Scared the closing song of the concert! One of the best I ever saw
What a beautiful song done so wonderfully by this fabulous artist. Roy has had no equal. The band behind him is super fine. Anything Roy sings is a winner. Thank you for posting this treasure. - Paula

I deeply regret that I had no opportunity to see Roy live, I think that many of these artists are worthy to clean the shoes so that the person was Roy
