They are all original parts, except for the drums which were re-played using Superior Drummer. They are harsh looking back on it - I'll try and do a drumless version for any drummers out there.
stupid 80's sounding drums. why did everyone get on board with this digital stuff? everything besides the drums sound good, drums sound like elevator-music-90's-MTV-post-punk bubblewrap.
How can you possibly say the guitars are not Ronno???? Someone,( probably Bowie himself), did a remix from the original masters. The drums have been triggered using crap 80's samples - but hey, this remix was no doubt done in the 80's!!!
Listen to the bass break. It IS Trevor Bolder. The acoustic you hear at the start is Bowie's 'almost' in time strumming.
I personally dont believe these are the original spiders on the backing track, only the singing and guitar sounds original.
The reason why I think this is because not only the drums sounds different (arent they electric here?), they are also played different: They sound exactly like Bowie's 80' s or 90's band!, listen to the drumming in time will crawl as a reference.
This is a personal guess but I'm pretty sure this is Bowies more recent drummer.
this is crap. There was never an Extended Mix. It's just some idiot with a keyboard. U really think anyone would release a 7 minute "Suffragette City"?! It's a quick fast song, This is just boring.
Interesting take here 5winston. I don't find it boring in the least. So I'm give all my thurms up here. Will check the others, since I had the Ziggy lp. This song is way more danceable. Thanks for the headups friend.
I just consider the lp (the "Album" as the ultimate expression of the medium, followed by live stuff, movies, even current, creative people with programs that do this) as the best thing. Don't really see it as "dance-able" either, it's just a taste thing. Stand by my original comments, wish I didn't come off so jerk-like, it's just 1 of DB's best albums. I think I was mad that the term "Unreleased" is used: one might think that means it was from '72. That's all. If u dig it, cheers! ;)
I would actually say that this is bad. I mean, I certainly get the point and yes the drums do sound much better, but the tracks have been isolated and then slapped back together rather roughshod. It loses a certain cohesiveness as a song. The vocals and instruments just seem out of place now because, in fact, they are.
FAKE BUT THI IS THE BETTER FAKE I SEE

The drums sound like bad 80's gay porn music -er, so I am told. Awful. The drums are way too up front and just kill the track.
kilroyrogers 1 year ago 5
@kilroyrogers So true, they sound too harsh and dry,all the magic of the original is lost here.
Missed opportunity..&...no " Thank you mam" today.

the drums have been put through a noise gate that's all, they're not electronic just the original track processed.

Also, the chords is striken 3 times here at the start of the record, in the original record it is a slide, but the solo sounds authentic.
Droyd21 2 years ago
@Droyd21 Its also a slight bit faster (BPM's) then the original.

I quite like it. I enjoy hearing the instrumentation separately - makes it interesting. I wish you could do this on your own with any song!

Some idiot with a keyboard?? You need to listen a little further--it's obviously the track, pre-edit and badly mixed. But quite interesting.

??? you think those crappy digital drums are a part of the original track?!

You can make your own remixes, just download the separate tracks. It's easy.

No idea where this comes from (dubbed in instruments?) But it's an experiment that call's for more Bowie remixes....
