  • Yeah And Whats With Copyright Put Up 1 Badfinger Video Your Suspendid With No Reprive

Hell I Didnt Make A Dime On That And Now

TheBeatlesSTL Is Gone Brother But Im With You

Man Just A Guy In Mo!!Power To You!

  • I'd be willing to pay 50 cents for you to stop complaining about nothing.

  • If nobody buys then no money is made.

Here in the US people have more money than sense.

    They will buy anything.

  • i love the second 2 lines. if u want i can show u this video by george carlin

pm me and i will send ya it

  • i would rather have them try to sell something to me rather then have them beg for money for nothing

  • Great video. I am lovin the topic. My opinion on the topic is that these people who are selling things that resemble their youtube vids should go ahead and do it. They can only "try" and get people to buy these items, and the people that do buy them just might be a fan. Yeah I'm just going to end this here because I'm about ready to exceed 500 characters! Loved the topic and great vid hope it wasn't to confusing!

  • How Bout a Tip Jar it is exactly wat it says giving tips to some1 who spends evry day of ther life on here answring mssgs. I.E some1 makes a short series on advice u will have hundreds of mssgs coming back & everybody wnts a response it will take alot of time to respond to evry single 1 of those and these ppl spend hours a day on it & they cant keep it up as well as hv a job & go to college this is a full time job and if u dont see this like that then fine. but u do have a point

  • If there is a need, people will buy it. I don't think there is a thing wrong with it. You have a big following and people want a piece of you for their collection, probably. Speaking of ghost-hunting, have you watched TushyGalore?

  • id buy a t shirt from you only if it was made of your real hair!

  • how do YOU feel about your boy boh3m3 straight out begging for money?

  • it is just naturally engrained in boh3m3's DNA to beg. . i think

  • boh3m3's AND sxephil's it would appear

  • Good points. That PSSSSSST thing is a little embarrassing though.

  • I saw this the first time. Personally, I might shell out for a shirt of yours.

  • check out my White and Nerdy vid....click my name

ALOT more vids to come....rate and comment plz ;)

  • agree man

  • you really should slit ur wrists cuz ur such a dooshbag

  • wow. .harsh

  • Thank god somebody actually pointed this out! Why the hell do YouTuber's try to sell people stuff. Like you say, what do we think we are, movie stars?

  • I love your opinion on this. Great video.

  • You are the man, man

  • sounds like your directly dissing Mr. Safety. Weren't you two cool and stuff?

  • nice video nice thought peace

  • There is no right and wrong on this... why are you so upset? If someone sees value in something else... let them buy it... yay capitalism!

  • fuckin A dude...a fuckin awesome video...with some fuckin awesome shit in it...ill buy and wear a fuckin t shirt...i mean its just like wearing one of those funny t shirts...just from youtube...and hell...ur supporting someone who makes great vids...if you have a problem with that i can understand...i had to think about this for a while lol

  • I think it's sorta wrong to sell t-shirts like that, be all excited and go, "okay guys, buy it!! These are so HAWT!" It made me think of the YouTuber as a big-headed person, if I know who you're talking about :o

  • You may think you are a 'regular guy' and delude yourself like that, but face it - you've been brought into the 'inside'.

You are included in things the common user on here isn't. That ALONE seperates you from the rest of us.

I don't think you'd ever stop by for lunch with me any more likely than I'd expect renetto to do so.

This place is about money. Begging for it shouldn't surprise you.

  • Yea, I agree. If people want to buy your merchandise, let them... but don't panhandle or require payment. If payment was required to view something, what does that say about freedom of speech anyways? It's also cool that you value us viewers so much that you don't even want anything out of it...

  • If you had a donate button, I'd give ya two bucks or something. Me, I'm poor. If I really did anything on YouTube then I'd definitely want someone to give me a buck or something if they liked me.. Like givin' a friend a dollar to buy a soda or somethin'. When I got a normal job (I do computer repair as a volunteer at the moment ;x) I'd definitely not want to bum money off of people anymore. That's just being a douche.

  • When it comes to me on that: I only want to help out or support people I give a damn about. E.g.: You. You're fine, babe. I saw you on the 12 days of christmas choir doing 5 golden rings, as I skipped through it because it was just a tad bit too slow for me (adore the speeded-up "Re:" version, however.) and it popped up to you. ;) Just about made me cream my undies! Haha.

  • I think what's goin' on is that people think that they're so freakin' great that people will want to donate to egg 'em on. ;)

  • Oh btw, every time in your like.. "Pshhhh" don't look away from the camera and say "umm..." like your embarrassed about it. Just a thought.

  • Cunt fucker

  • i don't think there's anything wrong with advertising their talents or identities. mr safety does this in a really good way. don't question the person selling, question the person buying.

  • i don't know i buy the "Smosh" stuff like i got like 4 or 5 of their shirts cause they're pretty cool guys and i'm here to support them

  • I haven't seen any videos like that. I have seen a few people trying to get money support for their cause or music album. I don't know I am broke anyway. Also I was woundering why does everyone say "I don't know why people subscribe to my videos?" I think you should know what that is. If so PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

  • I know what you are saying and i agree with you! I like your videos keep it up :)

  • It's so obvious you want to start begging for money, just get on with it already. Come on, you know how much you 'deserve' it.

  • you look comfortable in your own skin---good job , man

    keep up the good work

  • lol i like DiGiTiLsOuL cus is the only one that i understand when he's talking... im from mexico so i dont understand when people talk in english really fast.

  • I honestly don't care. They're not forcing us to buy anything, only making the option available. I personally would never buy anything like that, but some people want to and are willing to. That's their choice.

  • Secure your name. Why ? What if ...

    1. YouTube ceases to exist.

    2. Your videos are removed.

    3. You don't like the rules.

    4. You want to expand.

    5. Etc

But those things could never happen ... right?

  • I definitely see your point. If everybody starts using UT to tout their wheres, the oringinal purpose will be lost and instead, it will evolve into one big infomercial.

  • wheres = wares

    oringinal = original

    Priceless !

For eveything else there's a dictionary & spell checker.

  • Let the market rule. One guy is a fashion maven. His videos are entertaining. If I were his *employer, I'd worry about conflicts of interest. Some are promoters. It's their personality--their way of relating to the world. There's a saying: "DO WHAT YOU LOVE, THE MONEY WILL FOLLOW." Let *your videos and your spirit tell YOU how to position yourself for the greatest happiness and self-realization. If YouTube turns into solid advertising, like HSN, folks will leave in droves.

  • i would not pay for someones screen name on anything

  • I would love to go Ghost Hunting with you, but I dont live anywhere near you, and I dont have the technology to do my own Ghost hunting ...

  • I can't wait for the ghost hunting... Hey I didn't know you were in Pitt! That's awesome! As far as the personalized products. I don't see anything wrong with it but at the same time it could overtake youtube and make it a shopping site. I can see every other house wife starting to make vids of what they found at a garage sale last week and they are trying to resell it on youtube.

  • Its fine if you want people to donate to you as a thank you tip as long as you are not obligated to. However I really hate it when people try to use their popularity so they can get laptops and other crap they don't need.

I'm definately going to respond to this when I get the chance.

  • Heheh Rodney was just kidding he said.He is an Artist with Humor it seems and im to weak to notice.Sorry Rod:) Dirth needs rest Vaden

  • lol ur really red

  • yea i didnt take time to fix the contrast as I usually just do B&W

  • yea who cares if u werent ty for replaying to everything

  • you arent very good at speaking.

you repeat yourself a number of times in each of your videos.

  • He is a good speaker. He's interesting and quirky. If you don't like that, then do not watch his videos.

  • If people are making their own 'merchandise' then that's completly up to them. Whether people buy it or not is a completly different thing. Personally, I wouldn't buy any YouTubers Mugs or T-Shirts. Keep up the good work. Lisa.

  • Hang Tuff DS...Gonna do the Dirth.

  • I am not against people making money. Until I can feed my kids with monopoly money, or until I can click my heels and pay my rent, I say GO FOR IT! The only people who will disagree are those who wish they could, or those who think everyone is out to scam everyone. Make T-shirts, do your thang. Eating is a cool thang~ ~Raven

  • A lot of people? What people could there be past the Movies, TV shows ect?

  • cybersquatters ftl

  • Everyone who post videos is saying gimme, right? Gimme money, give me attention, give me your time, give me your praise. I guess YouTube really does imitate life.

  • Would you like to buy a T-shirt with DiGiTiLsOuL on it? Just joking bro!

  • totally agree... just because a few names have hit the big time though here now everybody wants the fame, everybody wants ehtir name on a shirt... I'd be pretty spooked out if I were to ever see anybody with a sim0ng shirt walking about but it'd be pretty cool to have a Digitil Soul shirt... dunno if I'd spend $30 on it though! lol

  • Someone is trying to sell a "HappySlip" T-Shirt for $30. No one is buying it though.

  • good! nobody should buy it! $30 is far too much! maybe if they were like $5 or $10 then yeah... maybe...

  • omfg, YOUR AWESOME, i don't like people who want money

  • For me, if the person is whinning for money, then no, they need to stop. example " oh send me money or I won't be able to make any more videos for you" yuck.

But if someone has a good or service they are providing, and they're "Hey if you interested, you can get my music at blah blah blah" Then sure that's cool.

  • I think its fine but only if its an option. Like if they get pushy, it gets REALY annoying. But lots of people would want one. Its an awesome idea. Just dont continuously try to sell it.

  • I don't buy stuff with anyone's name on it...not even real celebrities (like hollywood) so i most certainly wouldn't spend money on a shirt that says a youtuber that most of my friends don't even know. then you have to deal with all of the "who is that?" questions..lol. i think people get wrapped up in this online community we've made and just because they're famous here on youtube, doesn't make them any much better in the world outside of YT. nice video :)

  • You make a good point.

I'm sure that Hollywood A-List celebrities like Brad Pitt, Robert DeNiro, Leonardo DiCaprio & Denzel Washington doesn't know who these YouTube celebrities are.

    But that's okay....

  • im gonna make t-shirts if i get famous

smosh is gettin rich off that

  • he didnt say it was wrong. listen to what he say in the end. "i am not saying its wrong - i'm just saying that isnt me!" he is the man that keeps it real, and he deserve respect for that!:D keep up the good work DiGiTiLsOuL!!!

  • You are awesome man! I just wanted to share that with you. You are a real down to earth guy. Who makes interesting videos!

  • I want a DigitalSoul shirt!! Where can I get one? "Gimme one!" LOL

  • I don't mind the YT personalities offering stuff for sale, but it cheapens the worth of their presence here. Many folks use YT to catch a break in their chosen industry (music, movies, tv), and we've seen some do it successfully (while entertaining the heck out of us) and that's ok. What worries me is the slippery slope. Vids posted just to sell stuff. I don't want to waste my time or bandwidth watching commercials (there's enough of that already). I'm ok with people promoting *themselves*.

  • Ich denke, daß Leute in der LageSEIN sollten, alles zu kaufen, das sie wünschen. Ich verkaufte ein googolplex von Scheiße an hier. Vier Sterne!

  • No YOur not just a guy... Yu Da Mannnnnnnn! oh great Spirit Stalker you!!!!

  • Hey , I like the guy, but let's be real...he's transparent

  • Hi...Digital Soul here...pssht. I'm the worlds greatest dad with the cutest kid, gonna be a father again! My son comes first (except youtube gatherings) then after him, my wife. Although my wife should be tied with my son, I want to leave the option that maybe a better woman will come along. I can't wait to leave my son for the "Community" again. Damn I'm so popular... I wanna be just like Renetto and the others. LOL Mr Safety has a project that's gonna turn us into mega stars.

  • prickkkkkk

  • yo digetelsoul savage video as usual

  • I agree with alot of what you say, but if you have read some media theory you know that media often = a product to sell.

  • Ill reply vlog this typing sux and doesnt hit hard and heavy like i like it.(segals keyboard off the desk....and likes it)

  • walmart hotrod shirt=kool art

DigitilSoul T-Shirt=brings new peeps to the message

Id rather help a tuber than walmart

  • dam comments...fix it youtube.maybe we can discuss somethting by the third try.LOLZ.

  • can I buy your hat?

  • I don't need you to sign anything. I just want to have your children.

  • I wouldnt buy their stuff personally.

  • They can buy the stuff if they want to, but that will probably not happen..lol I'm not that big on youtube. If somebody wants to make money off of YT with their personality then more power to them. Making a little money is not bad even if you make T-shirts.

    Cool and groovy

    Mark Apsolon

  • we all have the potential to be sellable...like all sellable stuff I can keep my money or spend...some of the posters have sellable stuff.

  • I don't care if people try to make money off their viewers, if people are stupid or nice enough to pay (depending on the situation).

Did you give up on Dirk Slade, by the way?

  • I don't see anything wrong with selling a tshirt - it's voluntary and you are getting a product for your money. What bugs me is when people just ask for "donations". Lame. And domain squatters have been around for awhile now. They are pretty much internet scum. Yeah, YouTube celebrities aren't "celebrities" but if I saw someone with a tshirt with thewinekone's picture on it, I would strike up a conversation!

  • y not sxephil does. he got his name on thongs.

  • I agree. They want to sell tshirts let em. the ones who buy it obviously want it, and if they want to spend there hard earned money on that sort of thing then so be it. What i would like to see is you doing some ghost hunting. Your passions are unfolding before are eyes. First, it was the weight loss, now the show you would love to host. Your dreams are coming true and i support you %100. Your a good guy and I see that in you. Good luck Frank and may god be with you. Peace! luv ya bro.

  • hey u guys are actually more popular than stars u are watched more u dont jump on couches and u are way cooler =)but thats what i think basically i dont agree with the t-shirt thing but yyou guys are more watched and stuff than stars

  • On the one hand, if I enjoy spending time watching someone, what's wrong with throwing them an entertainment tip? On the other hand, If this move proves to be successful, the ISP's will come around with their hand out too! On the third hand, I never turned down any money given without conditions.

  • But what about guys like sXePhil who just ask for donations?

  • give me ur camera, gimme gimme gimme gime gime gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme give meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I agree, people are dumb. I have unsubscribed to users before for that reason alone. If I wanna see people beg I would go find the homeless. Keep it off my youtubes.

    Subscribed finally.

  • gimme tha maney

  • And again, you didn't put up the weight.

  • I pretty much think that if people want it enough to buy it, then thats up to them.

  • I agree with CutelilBubbleboo, it's cool if you're fund raisin for charity or something, but don't try to make money off of YouTube, that's just stupid and for those who are trying to get money from us "YouTubers", it's called getting a job.

  • Well i think if some of the money of w/e your buying is going to like a hospial or a animal shelter or somthing important, than i think its cool, but if its just because they want money then i think thats really, stupid.

  • a sucker is born everyday...and there are people who know that...

  • see the thing is if there is a chance of making money we as humans will do it, is it a bad thing?

i dont think so,i wouldnt pay for anything but others want to sure why not, whats the problem with that?

  • I'm going to sell my SEX SIMULATION directly to my subscribers for as much money as I can get!!:)

    NickyNik

  • Personally, I'm going to start selling Iceflow condoms. I think it'll be a big hit, no?

  • I just want to spread the Love!

  • They aren't going to sell me anything I don't want. That's the thing. But hey..if littleloco offers a T-Shirt I'm game. I think the celeb thing is dying down. There are enough of us ppl out there just doing our own thang. Peace

  • i think it normal for people to want someting from people in this situation. you never know with youtub blowing up like it is someone or more than one person might make it pretty far. Then people will be like yeah i got his shirt or whateve when he was on youtube.

  • not t-shirts, you definatly need DiGiTaLsOuL baseball hats your name on the back & your handsign on the front :) ya know cause the hat is yout thing! :)LOL (i am of course joking) i've heard all kinda stuph about talent scouts & tube celebs & hey great for them if the average schmuck can get a leg up on fame go for it!

  • LOL, Soulman, it's FINE to sell things with your name on it. It's called Capitalism. It's how our country works. Things are only WORTH as much as someone wants to PAY for them. It the law of supply and demand.

  • LOURYDER, I love how you just explained all that. I agree with you 100%.

  • I wouldn't buy it.

  • i dont have a problem with it...i dont buy it, but if someone does then they can have fun with it it their choice

  • i have no problems with peopel like Corey "Mr. Safety" who advertise themselves in there videos but ont force it on others

ive seen it alot too and i never relaly cared but i do find it stupid that poepel got to do that

  • trying to sell cuz it has value show somedignity and get 90 dollars

  • Watch hellorodney's response

  • I'll never buy anything for youtube...its all in fun, its not a marketplace

  • It's not taking advantage of people, if you don't want to buy the stuff you don't need to. I've got no problem with it, infact I support it. I'd rather support regular everyday people than large corporations anyday.

  • my respect definitly goes down for peops that do this... se la vi hu?

  • crazy william sled, but i dont mind so much. i mean celebs are doing it everyday

  • Hey Frank, ordinary guy. I think it's great when people use YouTube to raise money or awareness for a good cause and will contribute whenever I can. Some are selling t-shirts, etc. and I think that's fine, but I probably wouldn't buy them. Those that just ask for money for themselves won't see anything from me. My two cents.

  • my guess is this has something to do with william sled's newest video lol but i agree with you

anyhoo i wouldd buy your tshirt! :D

  • I completely agree with you!

  • Keep it real man...This is why I just subscribed to you.

  • lol.. william kinda ruined it for me. I don't like it.

  • i can respect that.. Let me ask you a question? If you had an extra 3 or 4 thousand dollars to spend on shooting your vids. what would you spend the money on? would you buy a better camera? better software? maybe some lights? ect. you get my drift. I really don't think steve and chad know what they started here. but in 5 yrs. man. it's a whole new job field, with new editors and actors and cameramen.. well let me know what you think?

  • you make me laugh. :)

  • Hey 'Soul,I'm just on youtube to have fun and meet new people. If people want to try to make money from the site, that's their business. If you want to buy their t-shirts and what not that's your choice. Keep posting good vids, man, can't wait to see the ghost hunting:)

  • Hi Lavon! Just one of your early subscribers.

  • Aww, you seem like such a good guy.

ghost hunting video, huh? Sounds cool. Getting creeped out is fun. Just try not to bother them too much. Life is hard, and the poor things deserve some peace. (if they even exist.)

  • very down to earth, much respect to ya

  • how much do you weigh now you didnt put it in

  • darn it all to heck and back I keep forgetting, and I so mean to do it in the editing...

  • I'd by a t-shirt with "DiGiTaL sOuL" on it ... What does that make me? Prolly not $30 ... maybe $20 ... hmmmmm.

  • *cough*WilliamSledd*cough*

    Excuse me.

  • I really enjoy your videos, but it seems to me like you're insulting the folks who want to buy these things more than the folks offering them. Some people WANT to buy things. People have been putting the names of folks they like on shirts for many many years--why not YouTube? You may be wanting to critique the sellers, but there wouldn't be sellers if there weren't buyers, and that's who you're insulting--some of the same folks who watch you and/or ask for your autograph.

  • there is a difference between marketing goods for sale and panhandling "begging" for money! asking for money to get your cyber girlfriend brought overseas, or money to buy a new mac notebook..."is going too far!" go scrub windshields at the corner! ~DEADMAN~

  • If a product/service is sold and the buyer is happy with it, what's the difference what the money is used for?

  • I don't think there's anything wrong with offering something more. It's not like you have to buy the stuff to enjoy the videos. They're not "trying to sell" something to me. They're making something that people interested in buying can buy--sounds like a service rather than a problem.

  • it's all a matter of how you do your money venture on youtube. Some people I still watch even though I don't like how they are going about trying to make money. Others my opinion of them has not been changed by how they are making money from youtube. It's all a matter of how tastefully done they do it.

  • I personally wouldn't buy a shirt or mug with somebody else's name on it but I'm fine with people trying to sell it.

  • I dont look at it as a bad thing only bc i dont see it as them trying to take advantage, if they have shirts and i happent to think hmmm thats an awesome looking shirt id get it, I have a Smosh Hoodie and its my favorite hoody not bc it has smosh on it, but bc i just like the jacket

  • to posess is a social instinct, so that leads us to feel we have a part of something or someone in a shirt, mug, or even an autograph, but i know in fact what we enjoy the most and the real thing is talking to people and sharing thoughts and feelings, that can't be sold, nor can't be physically transformed ;)

i bet you got somethings at gathering that can't be even put on video, so that's important too...peace DS.

  • Yes, people are taking advantage of the medium to hawk their wares. But that's capitalism. It's simply this: anything that harbors the opportunity to make money will make money. Anything. Its only a matter of time til people figure it out.

The thing is, no one has to buy this 'shirt'. That's the nice thing about free will and capitalism. Just as people can sell what they want, they can also spend what they want.

  • LEETHESCRIBE,

    You make a great point!

  • Not to mention Happyslip's stapler going for $862 on ebay right now. IF people are willing to buy it then why not?

(That one is all going to a dog shelter, BTW).

  • well first i heard of that..but really it's an auction, and if someone is willing to buy it for whatever the amount, thats kewl, regardless of where the money is going. as long as the end result is out in the open! ~DEADMAN~

  • Maybe you're talking about William Sledd or maybe not but the jury is still out on that one for me. I think if you are a top Youtuber and you need money then why not try to make some? But it has to done tastefully. I think ValsArtDiary does it tastefully and not in your face but she's still making her living from vlogging.

  • Didn't selling a t-shirt ( or something else ) get you to SF? Some people will try to get all they can and nickel and dime.

  • digitilsoul dot com was registered on 28-feb-2007. Too late!

DigitilSoul signature T-shirt on Ebay. Bidding starts at $100!

    Digitil's Soul for sell! Priceless!

  • personally I don't care if people wanna sell shirts. i would never buy one however, but it doesn't bother me.

  • you said "were all the same" lol do you watch iancrosslands videos? :D

  • I don't care if people sell their merchandise. I personally can't imagine myself ever wearing a T-shirt advertising a....Youtuber. But hey, if others do, that's cool. As far as the Blunty thing goes, Youtube doesn't owe anyone a damn penny. That's absurd.

  • that's the problem with the most subscribed people they think they are movie stars....it's like dude you just make videos on youtube get over it

  • Well, some of these videos are beginning to look like mini movies.

  • I have nothing against people selling hats, shirts, coffee mugs or whatever.. it's the "beggars" like Blunty and the Bobs4kim issue that make me sick.

  • hey DS dont think about them tards.. if people feel they need to hassle us about our money for watching them.. then, they aren't not worth watching.. keep doing what you are doing.. congrats on the baby news too.. take care man..

  • What's on your shirt DS? The name of some corporation/clothing manufacturer (I can't read it)? Is that somehow more cool than buying a T-shirt with your favorite band or YouTuber or anything else you like? People seem to have no problem feeding corporations and buying their nonsense, but when it comes to people (non-incorporated individuals) who are being real and quite often doing something useful, people seem to have a problem with that.

  • Well said!

  • Hi! It's proven, selling out is embarassing. Don't Sell out, uhhemSMOSHuhhem...(that's me hint-coughing)...Thanks for posting this...

  • I have absolutely no objection with YouTubers selling goods or services for a price. I do however, object to soliciting donations and offering zero in return. Many so-called YouTube "celebrities", one in particular, see nothing inappropriate with this practice. I find it repugnant. You all know who you are!

  • i think it's ok tosell their stuff through youtube. just if they dont talk about it in more than one video, spam it or/and trying to push it on people. i think it would be weird to wear someones youtube name on a shirt when going outside. since nobody knows the people. well ok.. maybe its not that since i could use a top with sneaker pimps on it.. and not many people know that group. hmm but whatever. :P looking forward to more vids. <3

  • you also need to be careful cause they could say i made this shrt if you like to buy it pay me $30 and i'll send it to you and then rap you off and not even gaving you what you payed for.

  • if i want it on a shirt i'll make it my self. but if you put a funny quote on it and then your name and if people like it they well buy it.

  • This was a very boring video. Please get back to what made you popular, talking about life and everyday stuff.

  • I think William Sledd is doing a good thing by at least donating a portion of sales to homeless animal shelters. Even if it is only $1, but to think of all the tshirts he will sell, that money will add up. Admittedly, I'm not crazy about his designs, but I am glad that his heart is in the right place with respect to the animals.

  • Dude, I've never understood why people get so worked up about other people selling stuff on here. Nobody is making anyone buy anything, so what's the big deal ? I've seen people have a fit about other YTers putting up pay-pal buttons, WHY ? They don't have to give anybody money, are they just jealous because someone else is getting paid and they're not ?

  • I have an online store with Patriot Action logo stuff, but I've never mentioned it in my videos because I DON'T want people to think I'm asking for money. Patriot Action is not about ME though. It's about patriotic citizens doing something to better the state of affairs. But on topic, none of these people have made anyone buy a product with their logo. If people really want to, they CAN just write the name of the person on a shirt and not buy one. If they buy it, that's their choice.

  • cool

  • Damn, now I want a DS t-shirt lol. But yea, I get what you're saying. Some of the ones I've seen are kinda cool, but...I don't know. I'm a little in-between it all myself you know? Whatever works I guess.

  • This is a very good question - thanks for putting it out there.

Advertising is everywhere in modern culture, but to a certain degree, each person is free to make a choice as to how he or she buys (or sells) into it. I think it's a MORAL/ETHICAL decision that each individual has to make.

As for YT, Geriatric1927 recently put up a video on the subject called "Money, Money, Money". I agree with what he says.

PS:I'm originally from PA(Altoona),so really looking forward to your ghost vids!

  • i say don't worry about it the money issue. people do dumb things and i'd just ignore any of it. just like the email scams, etc. if someone really likes watching their videos and buying a tshirt makes them happy, well whatever floats your boat.

i'm hoping you do another dirk slate video too, those were kinda funny.

  • i would never pay for that crap. i just enjoy watching vids. its not about money.

  • I think it's both ok and not ok. It's ok because it's the peoples choice whether or not to go buy it. It's like a commercial, I hate commercials but that's why I don't choose to buy something because it's on a commercial. It's not ok because YouTube is a community of normal people just posting their amateur work. Why make amateur people who just come to have fun, a business and a corporation?
