It would indeed be paradoxal. Just like the UN existing in the RA1, while the UN was founden because the League of Nations had collapsed before WOII. However it could be possible, alto you have to explain how he or his father survived the Lenin and later Stalin, and he tries to regain the power held by his family trough this way. Same way that Napeleon III came to become emperor of France by first becoming it's president.

you know what i could never get? is that by this time the romanovs should all be dead. that is, if we want to be historically accurate. the age of the Romanovs ended with the assassination of Nicholas II and his family on the latter months of 1917.

Well it was an alternative version history. Several infact given that you time travel several times. The Allies could have chosen him before Romanov to rule after Stalin. Or he could of been a central figure of rebbellion against puppet regime. The explanations are endless
