What makes this movies so special is the wonderfully balanced and well thought out choices. From Puccini'sNessun Dorma to Wagner's Liebestod to Verdi's La Virgine Degli Angeli - they all pack a punch. The movie itself serves as a wonderful introduction to Opera.
Funny there are many opera lovers that turn up their noses at this movie...for the actual operas are usually MUCH more ridiculus. I was dissapointed to learn the story behind the opera from which the beautiful nessun dorma came.
It's been on DVD for a while. The outrage is: this wonderful montage was chopped off the end of the film when they made the first DVD (maybe because early encoding software couldn't handle the rapid succession of stills) and a second "remastered" version of the film on DVD (clearly a lie) was also missing the montage.

or u just made it yourself? the editing of the sound at the end? gives us a different reason to think about it.

I think this film is terrible.
Ken russell's segment is the only good part.
