@JamesGod08 its on HBO so they can pretty much do whatever they want. the comment about the Jews i dont get. no need to hurl any racist comments on here especially when this has nothing to do with them
It's disturbing how she fell in love with such a beast, i guess some women really enjoy a little animal in men and only get to fully experience their thrills if they are brave and williong to put up with such things
Breaks my heart every time... It was such a beautiful love, and they fell so fast. But didn't they all? The song of Ice and Fire is a very tragic tale, and every death or injury makes me wanna cry. But at the same time, I hope that in the end, the good ones prevail. I can't stop reading. And I'm anxious to see the whole show. Love Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo already. He's the perfect choice. As is Sean Bean as Eddard Stark. Well, the whole cast seems pretty awesome. I can't wait!!!
9. All changes with her dreams about dragons and the dragon eggs (HBO tried to show that in the sex scene). Dany gets stronger and stronger (the muscles, the skin and also her charakter changes). This is a influence of the dragon eggs. And so one night she is waiting for Drogo which surprises him. She takes him out of the tent (all important things must be outside - so their belief) and rides him hard. At the height Drogo screams her name.
The movie is very close to the book which is good. END
8. Drogo would come to her tent and wake her in the dark, to ride her as relentlessly as he rode his stallion. He always took her from behind, Dothraki fashion, for which Dany was grateful; that way her lord husband could not see the tears that wet her face, and she could use her pillow to muffle her cries of pain. When he was done, he would close his eyes and begin to snore softly and Dany would lie beside him, her body bruised and sore, hurting too much for sleep. Day followed day, etc.
7. But later in the book there is this - which is the reason for the "looks like rape" scene in the movie: Khal Drogo ignored her when they rode, (...) and spent his evenings drinking with his warriors and bloodriders, racing his prize horses, watching women dance and men die. Dany had no place in these parts of his life. She was left to sup alone, or with Ser Jorah and her
brother, and afterward to cry herself to sleep. Yet every night, some time before the dawn, Drogo would come .. s. 8.
6. very lightly at first, then more insistently, until her nipples stiffened and began to ache.
He stopped then, and drew her down onto his lap. Dany was flushed and breathless, her heart fluttering in her chest. He cupped her face in his huge hands and looked into his eyes. “No?” he said, and she knew it was a question. She took his hand and moved it down to the wetness between her thighs. “Yes,” she whispered as she put his finger inside her. (GoT book) ---So there was no rape!
5. He stroked her face, tracing the curve of her ears, running a finger gently around her mouth. He put both hands in her hair and combed it with his fingers. He turned her around, massaged her shoulders, slid a knuckle down the path of her spine. It seemed as if hours passed before his hands finally went to her breasts. He stroked the soft skin underneath
until it tingled. He circled her nipples with his thumbs, pinched them between thumb and forefinger, then began to pull at her, very .. s. 6.
4. He stood her up then and pulled her close to remove the last of the silks. She was afraid of what would come next, but for a while nothing happened. Khal Drogo sat with his legs crossed, looking at her, drinking in her body with his eyes. After a while he began to touch her. Lightly at first, then harder. She could sense the fierce strength in his hands, but he never hurt her. He held her hand in his own and brushed her fingers, one by one. He ran a hand gently down her leg. He strok ..s. 5.
3. Drogo began to remove the small bells from his hair - Dany helped him. Drogo gestured - Dany began to undo her braid. Then he started to undress her - his finger were deft and strangely tender. He removed her silks one by one, carefully while Dany sat unmoving, silent looking at his eyes. When he bared her breasts she couldn´t help herself. She averted her eyes and covered herself with her hands. Drogo said: "No." He pulled away her hands from her breasts, gently but firmly then ... s. 4.
2. Then the movie is different than it is told in the book: He murmured softly in Dothraki (to take the anxiety from her). Dany didn´t understand there word yet there was warmth in the tone a tenderness she had never expected from this man. Drogo took a finger under her chin and lifted her head so she was looking into his eyes. Then he took her on his arm and seated her on a rounded rock. He sat in front of her on the ground , legs crossed benath him - so they´re faces were at a height. s. 3.
1. Dany didn´t want to marry Drogo - she said: "I want to go home." (in the book and movie) Her brother forced her to marry him. Dany was afraid to wake the "dragon" if she defied her brother in this. Of course she took it also as her duty to help her brother bring back the crown. But is this free will? Rather not. "Daenerys wed Khal Drogo with fear ..."
Then the night: It is in the book as in the movie. He put away her tears and touches her hair. Then ... s. 2.
I want Drogo come back. The witch has burnt - life for death. Mr. Martin can bring him back this way - and Dany has seen him - if I remember it right in the book - on a horse with a whip in his hand. It was so stupid from Martin to let him die - I can´t stand and understand that. The plot needs such a figure and such a relationship.
I don't think you realize the period pieces and themes set in this series. Women did not get to marry usually the man they fell in love with ESPECIALLY if they were in a high station such royalty or noble blood. Brothers or fathers whomever was head of family would sell their daughters and sisters for the most part. Dany was not raped she took a position that was expected of her. She was apprehensive yes but willing. She could have fought him or run away. She took responsibility for her position
the thing that he was tender with her in the honeymmon, her surprise and then her will to take her wasn't shown in the series....Drogo was the finest man in the book and more a gentleman in the heart that any of the other gentlemen in appearance!!!!! we haven't got enough scenes to make more videos damnit!!!!
@Kingsley327 It's all shadow and lighting. And usually the costumers have special clothing and equipment so that it seems convincing. There's never actual sex shown; that would be porn, and would earn that scene a one-way ticket to the Playboy channel.
This is one of the best Dany/Drogo vids I've come across. In under 2 mins. this vid shows the 180 deg. turn in the couple's relationship. From Dany's apprehension in meeting/marrying Drogo; the honeymoon/rape; Dany's submergence w/ the dothraki; the couple's gradual connection& love for each other; Drogo's fierceness, then unexpected injury &downfall; Dany's blind trust & attempt to save Drogo; & finally Dany sadly ending Drogo's life, if he could no longer be a warrior to ride& lead his people.
@itried2dohandstnds4u that's true, if you read the books thei relationship it's quite different from the beginning, Dany is afraid but she let him touch her and take her on their honeymoon. It's not a rape at all. I think HBO didn't want to make it look like a rape scene, they just wanted to underline Dany's fear and sadness.
@MizuMeow Actually you're right. I know i referred to the honeymoon as a rape in my 1st comment, but there really was no rape in either the book or in the show. Dany never said the word, "NO" prior to the sex. The scene was really meant to show Dany's heart wasn't into the idea of marrying or sleeping w/ Drogo. However in all of his interviews, Jason Momoa (Drogo) refers to the scene as a rape; so maybe that's really how HBO wanted it depicted, probably for extra, graphic, explicit content.
@Rampage3606 The fact, however, is that she really had no choice, and did not concent to sleep with him. "No" isn't the defining word for something being or not being rape- "yes" is. So the writers and actors, by todays's standards, correctly identify this as a rape. Whether the characters would have in the period is unlikely- as it's shown, the tribe really has no concept of rape, and in the "period", all marriage was basically a transaction.
@hang1iderswing The fact is -she did have a choice, by choosing to stand up for herself against Viserys's plan in pairing her w/ Drogo to begin with! The entire marriage could've been avoided. Bottom line, whether the sex was consenual or not, the scene served it's purpose; by grabbing the viewer's attention & igniting this unnecessary debate, 9 months after the original airing of the episode. We're both fans of the show- let's agree to disagree; & look forward to more xxx scenes in Season 2.
I loved this part of the show. More so when he went into the blade. What i didn't like was...how could she let that witch touch him He was a warrior, he would have healed just fine. That was the end of him and i was PIST OFF!!
@lilmoma90 actually in the books drogo himself tore bandages because they itched and wound got infected, so kinda mirri maz duur saved his life but he was a vegetable
@lilmoma90 Being "A warrior" does not make you immune to infection.
If you get an open scar like that, you do something about it, no matter how many hours you might spend at the gym, or how much testosterone flows through your body.
Though she should rather have tried to patch him up herself. Pretty stupid decision, true.
@Epimachus123 Pretty sure Daenerys accuses her of it in the first book and/or talks about her doing it in one of the later books, Bro. (Dance I think)
well i'm up into Feast so I really couldn't know. Still I say those wounds would've killed him either way. but if the witch helped him into oblivion, well goddamnit
@Epimachus123 well, you know she has a prophecy told to her suffer three betrayals? well the little wich is the first :)! and a little advice, dont read the books to quickly.. I am lost waiting for the next one to be released.
