nice music coming out of that Wersi. Not a hammond. I dont know why he is called a hammond legond.. Did n't he do more on the Wersi than he did on hammond? It certainly how he ended his career (so to speak)... He may have started on hammond but became a wersi player. nothing wrong with wersi, they are nice instruments, too.
@anthonypaul2 - It's about half and half. He played Hammond from the mid 1950's to the mid 1970's and Wersi from then and untill his death in the mid 1990's. But the reason can also be that many people refer to anything with two manuals as a Hammond organ. Just look in the second hand pages: They call pretty much every organ a Hammond.
@anthonypaul2 If you achieve a status of Hammond Legend it's a bit difficult to give that one up because you start playing another brand. In reality the Wersi engineers stayed true to the pure nature of the tone generation as it was laid out by Hammond and in the opinion of many they took the Hammond sound to the next level. Wersi is probably the second best known organ with drawbars. Also 'The Hammond' was the generic name for any electronic organ for many years.
Wow...What a musician!..KW has aways been an inspiration to me in playing the organ..I love the way his hands bounce off the lower keyboard. The real Mr. Cool in lookiing so relaxed in playing..Hard to believe he would have been 80..thanks for a great posting!
Thanks for this upload! Although it's a Wersi Helios W2T organ and not a Hammond.
Klaus is great. Indeed he gives a soul to an unemotional organ. This month he would have celebrated his 80th birthday, if he didn't pass away so soon.
Are you intent on setting a world record or something, or try to create Helios scarecity to be able to sell them for an obscene amount of money? Having an extra for spare parts I could understand, but 5 or even 7 in all...
@SilverHammond What a silly remark...indecently I have Hammonds as well ! and one thing I have Never done is rip people off never ever..and no I dont sell them there mine and I treasure them. I do have the option of taking another three for free but I have no where to put them. I think your remarks are unjust as you do not know me and silly
@Wersiking Sorry, I see I forgot some smiley's ;) It was meant as a joke of course.
Still, I can't image why one would want 5 or more of the same organs.
(I do know someone who has 3 Hammond B3's sitting in his living and hobby room, and to be honest, I think that's "unfair"; many people are looking for a good one and are unable to find one for a decent price, while others are hoarding them :X)
Klaus W's talent incorporates "soul" into an otherwise emotionally "dead" electronic instrument. That's even harder to do than on a piano!
If you analyze for instance the pianist Daniel Barenboim... and you'll notice that his emotional creativity is far superior to most piano players. It's, because his (inherited and developed) talent enjoys a superior level of evolution. Same applies to the great KW. That distinguishes masters from apprentices.
If you lke kitsch...
I do, myself...
