  • This guys killer!

  • mongo

  • gravity is very underrated.

  • I've been a street skater for years, like tre flips and all that but even with being so comfortable with the board, backside slides just feel awkward...I'll get em tho :)

  • The first guy needs bigger wheels

  • Abec 11

  • i have trouble with it but ill not give up

  • and this is why I have a loaded and not a gravity...

  • @laxer7690 Loaded has better how-to's for sure, but don't rat on Gravity. Their boards are better than some of their videos =S

  • @laxer7690 and this is why gravity makes board for tech sliding

    not loaded

  • damn he goes low

  • Looks like a blunt in snowboarding :o

  • the guy in da right says:THOOODAYYY

  • I love the accent! It's so cool :D

  • FLAT SPOT ALERT I think I heard it lol!

  • i like the old school sk8boards

  • longboarding requires way more skill.

  • Wow you people are so cool when not wearing a helmet. You are just too cool you know that? *sarcasm*

WEAR YOUR FU*KING HELMETS, STUPID IDIOTS!

  • @bulipap is sergio yuppie asshole

  • @jaimesguerrerovictor What the hell you blabbing about?!

  • I need to know what knee pads Sergio is rocking...

  • any wheels will slide, just haul ass and commit. youll do it or bust your ass. then get up and try it again. trust me, itll come after the 2nd or 3rd try.

  • Where can i get those kneepads Sergio is wearing?

  • all squared wheels???

  • Will Jolly is riding a Gravity 40" Brad Edwards aka The Gangster. And Sergio Yuppie is most likely riding a Gravity 33" Sergio Yuppie aka Under the Sun. for all those who do not know or were wondering.

  • @carlosvg1986 define "normal" skateboard. Boards used for tech sliding are usually designed somewhat the same as mainstream setups albeit a bit wider and longer than most. And telling whether it's a longboard or not can be kinda difficult sometimes. It has to be at least 36" to be a longboard.

  • so is this on a normal skateboard?

  • Not to get in on this little argument here, but these guys aren't using a regular skateboard. They're using cruiser boards which are kinda like longboards but not as "flexible" in terms of turning, but I definitely wouldn't classify them equal to a reg skateboard because they have more longboard-like characteristics.

  • @36Tflip i have a small longboard that is almost smaller than a original skateboard and this does not look like one of them.

  • 80a retro freeride, 83a retro freeride, or 78a pink powerballs? for a good mixture of sliding and grip? i want to slide but carve sharp without slip :)

  • Ae Brasileiro arrebentando na gringa !!!

  • he sounds like a funny

  • Why rotate hands opposite? Should'nt it be the other way around.

  • @heyitsericc no, then it would be extremely hard to slide back to normal

  • @fuckyouitsminebiatch Ahh okay, thanks I was thinking 180s and got mixed up.

  • it's a little bit like snowboarding (1. trick) isn't it?

  • is that sergio guy special?

  • @BMFProductions or foreign maybe!? lol! Cant you tell by his accent!?

  • @BMFProductions just because you don't speak english well doesn't mean you're "special"

  • Comment removed

  • @hock3ydud3 yeah lol are you aware of how basic sliding is on a longboard

  • @apfried shorter wheel base = shorter turns = easier checks ;)

  • @hock3ydud3 Stop being a hateboarder.

  • @hock3ydud3 those are longboards idiot

  • @grizley12 No they are slide boards... idiot. Longboards are generally 37" and over

  • @hock3ydud3

it would be easier, how is that more impressive?

  • @tazer5 ......... its harder...well... in terms of kicking out the slide....but maybe more easy to stay stable when doing it

  • @hock3ydud3 Its actually harder to do it on a skateboard without your wheels biting

  • @hock3ydud3 longboard sliding is a lot easier cuz of the thicker wheels and more flexy trucks

  • @CrackShotMcGee dude, its not, im taking it you have never ridden a longboard..?

  • @baabaaU13 i have 2 longboards ive been riding for a while, and its a hell of a lot easier

  • @CrackShotMcGee yhh watever you say dude. Longboards, are harder, i skateboard aswell, and i can check slide a skateboard sooo much easier, purely because they are shorter and generally have harder wheels, so its easy to control slides on them. Hence why the guy in the vid is on a skateboard and is pulling big stand-ups. Look at kyle chin from loaded he his fucking insane and he's on a longboard. so fuck u

  • @baabaaU13 mhm sounds like a 13 year old knows something about longboarding

  • @CrackShotMcGee yep, well i sure know more than u do mother fucker

  • @baabaaU13 You cann stop pretending to be tough i clearly have a more valid opinion considering i have twice the skill you will ever have. Go back to preschool poser

  • @CrackShotMcGee don't be so arrogant.

  • @blairst91 don't be a so dooshbag-like...

  • @countdoku11 sorry to be a douche-bag again, but i cant help thinking my point has been proven.

  • @CrackShotMcGee heeeeyy im thirteen

    ... silly basterds

  • you dont know what the fuck youre talkin about kook. sergio would murder you down and hill and wtf do you know anyway you like hockey

  • @hock3ydud3 i think it is a longboard

  • @pepperpong7074 its not

  • @pepperpong7074 its an old school skateboard

  • @hock3ydud3 ok well, its all skateboarding anyway... and by your definition of "skateboard" that this is not one. Its a technical sliding deck which would be closer related to a longboard than a street deck anyway.

  • it's fun !! :D

  • can anyone demonstrate on a speedboard?

  • @frazier36 : I really think it's possible to power & check slides with any combination of deck/truck/wheels/ground.

-With gummy wheels, you'll have to commit a lot.

-Your feet have to be placed almost on the heel edge for frontside slides, and on the toe edge for bs slides.

-You really have to launch your torso, shoulder and arms into the movement.

-It's easier to practice on marble floor or on a wet road.

-I find it easier to do bs slides, but fs are safer.

    -Wear helmet and pads!

  • @MrRicounet thats kind of hipicritical because your not wearing helmets in the video.

  • the richt one is funny

    (sorry 4 bed elgels)

  • can anyone throw power/check slides on gummy wheels? You know the longboard type wheels that are usually fatter than street board wheels? I can do powerslides all day on the hard urethane wheels, but usually just make a fool of myself with the gummy wheels....

  • @frazier36 you just have to go faster

  • @frazier36 i have 69 mm 80 a nineballs, and its not really hard to get em to slide. you just gotta grab em like a man and TELL em what to do. can't really pull off the long sweet slides though, cuz those big gooey fuckers stop you in nothing flat.

  • i used to hit these tricks downhill now i only slide on flat =/

  • this is really flamboyant.

  • at 1:44 listen to his flat spotted wheels ahhahah

  • like a fake powerslide

  • Comment removed

  • Nice. Until you hit your NO HELMET heads...then you won't even remember how to eat Beefaroni. Now you are cool....someday...you will drool.

  • where is this spot ???? great tutorials !!

  • Can you make this slides with "the woody" element skateboard?

  • @davidlicheri

any fucking board!!!! goddamn read some comments

  • so would this help for bombing abig ass hill?

  • i have a dervish, what kind of trucks should i get that are really good for carving and slding and can get really really loosee like really loose

  • If you want to go with conventional trucks, probably some Indy 169s.

You might also consider Original trucks, which are really turny. So easy to slide them, but they're a little more expensive.

  • gullwing sidewinders

  • you want randal rII's or Paris, jsut make sure u get something reverse kingpin or it wont turn aswell.

  • randals r2 are good for carving and sliding. they can also be very loose, depending on wheelbase and baseplate.

  • You could make it loose by flipping the hanger around.

  • I would get paris 180s then buy venom bushings with an 85 barrel bottom and 81 cone top.

  • i rock paris on mines. you can actually losen your trucks to where the board dont even stay up or flat anymore. really i just tighten my trucks unitl i cant spin the washer.

  • I've just taken up sliding with gloves after skating for about ten years. I use VERY soft wheels & I can stop from about 60 km/h with a 7-10m slide. I would no way be able to do it without slide gloves. Any board will slide it's just a matter of attack. As for stopping immediately, if you do that you have hit a wall. Don't do it. Thanks for the awesome vid.

  • yo brah i aint frontin wit no trucks but damn i get my shwty ice on dem segrio sliders i fly past all them honey comes no wutim sayin, im like daym and u's all like get u soome fresh jordans to pair with that bord and im like yeah dude dribble mad Bball while im at it dude and like uncle sams all like yo dude its newtons laws and shyat and im like dayum ice T if i can brush my teeth going 180 in a toyota corolla they cant do a damn thing about my hair, no wut im sayin?

  • dudes, it's not hard to do on soft wheels. You just need more speed + practice.

  • if u are in the uk buy some Lush Cannon balls 97a in 60-65mm..since i have these babys my slides are smoother, faster more controlled an way more fun!

  • personally i have the oragatang in heat 83a. the harder you get them the easier it is to slide. but if your just learning i would shoot for about an 81a. youll be able to do basic slides but technical ones will be difficult

  • Thanks for the reply!

  • wat the fuck i cant do that on my new fat free otang free ride wheels which are 83a

  • like I slide, but if I try sliding like them, as in length of the slide I cant maintain the length of the slide.

  • when I try this on my old school peralta 36" and I always flip out. whats my problem

    ?

  • if your wheels are on the soft side its pretty much impossible

  • @newbeachinvasion

bull shit, i do it on 78a kryptos, i think 75 is the softest nowadays, so bull shit,

but basicly the softer the wheels the more balls u need

  • @charlieandchocolat

I can too on wet pavement sliding on my ass.

  • explain more... do you just STOP immediatly? or can't you even get to the slide??

  • hey guys how is the gravity mini 3 board 27"?? is it a good board?

  • whats is that slide called when you touch the ground and slide

  • that's called a slide. Depends on what you do while your hand is on the ground for the slide to be called something.

  • Which is the size of the board recommended for this?

  • Smaller boards are easier to slide.

  • what board are they using? like downhills? what they called?

  • i think its a kind of Oldschool deck like a normal skateboard with smaller and harder wheels

use gloves and everything, and never... never try to do a slide with downhill wheels (it hurts)

  • lol longboards thier longer than skateboards and they have different shapes and stuff some of them are almost the same as a skateboard skateboard to do all the tricks on expect these are heavier and the trucks are different and more options to what type you want and the wheels are different they are bigger and softer then the wheels for sliding are harder but not as hard as skateboard wheels longboards are also used for extreme speeds downhill like 30 to 60 miles per hour

  • i slide on my regular skateboard. its tiny and has tiny wheels and tiny trucks.

  • which is the best for sliding

  • a smaller board is easyer to slde put it goes slower. so you have to find steeper hills. so a normal skaateboard with really hard wheels would be good

  • hmm you sure its the board size because wheels duro makes allot of difference i just started again to slide i gave it up for a while but now that am going to spain and theres major hills up there am just trying to learn a coleman or a shut down slide pendy's etc.. laydown slides.maybe you can help me i cant seem to make the board slide and yeah i got 96a wheels.once i ended up doing one but it completely turned my board around weird lol.and i end up on my toes

  • new wheels dont slide very good. brek them in just a lil to start them slidin u can check out the gid to breking whels in on the orangatang whels sit. also depedin on ur slide ur goin 2want to kick you back foot out harder then your frnt fot to get the slide to start. also try and keep your feet as flat as your can that goin to mak sur that you have the most grip on your bord and if ur on your tos your going to end up liftin ether the to or hel side whels of the grond and it wil b hardr 2slide

  • i have noskoolz in a 96a

what i cant do is kick it out when am trying to do a pendy just str8 down i always end up sliding side way till my board is facing up the hill.like when i try to keep my feet flat i fall back

  • like when ur doing a coleman you kick ur back foot forward to start the slide and try to keep your hands in frount of you and put alot of you wieght on them and if that doesnt woork try to put ur hand like ur going to do a push up put lower urself closer to the concret

  • Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't getting the board facing up the hill the first half of a pendy? If you're doing a coleman to pendy all you have to do is swing your free arm back out and get ready to stand back up.

  • i think i always see different stuff on here saying its a coleman slide and its all different.but i think the coleman is kinda like a shutdown slide

  • get anything that is Gravity or Earthwing

  • po yuppie..podia ser em portugues a parada hein...

mas firmao..da pra entender vendo os video..

    downhill comanda

  • so would it be better if u have wheels with more grip or more slide?

  • they're called powerslides.

  • but powerslide sounds gay

  • actually powerlides sound very heterosexual.

  • I want the new version of Will's board in this video

  • Its no offical I want sergio's babys.

Hope he comes back and skates with my mates again, i missed the chance to meet him :/

  • can you just do these on normal boards without those type of bearings and stuff cause am poor and stuff so how can i do this in my neigbhoor on flat ground please respond

  • you can do anything on any kind of setup. all you gotta do is be prepared to do it. pads are really helpful cuz they help get you into a more confident state of mind to do it. just make sure you get a decent amount of speed. The more you have the easier it'll be. If I could recommend any gear in specific for you to have it'd be knee pads, gloves, and a helmet (in no specific order)

  • just go at least 45 mph, and wear light shorts, and a light t-shirt. Also drink a couple beers before. If you can do it blindfolded, that is even cooler.

My friends seriously went into a coma from powerliding down hills drunk. Don't do it, just think about the fucken consequences. Build up your skills a little at a time and then charge it... sober.

  • same thing as skiing/snowboarding drunk, we saw the cleanup of a guy that did that the snow was red all around the tree he had wrapped himself around

  • you don't need to do it on flat ground.

Its to slow you down when going down a hill.

You can always take a bus to somwhere that does have hills...

  • everytime i try this i keep just falling foward!

    Any suggestions?

  • spped control.

  • Alright ill try it

  • ya i would say that it's just practice man maybe youre bending your knees too much or too little. I got pretty good at sliding but after 6 years of skateboarding man...

  • shit theyre called check slides? LOL i thought they were called powerslides :P thats a new name to the list of cans and cant dos for me. LOL. sweet

  • Could any one give me some pointers on doing one of those check slides manuling on the back wheels like at 2:33?

  • push your tail down whilst doing it [not all the way so taht it bashes the ground] but keep your body straight and your feet tensed up as you do it. on re-entry, relax your feet as you pivot back in.

try this on a flat surface first though, then move onto hills.

  • It's kind of hard to fall on your head when performing a check slide, belive me. When i fall (rarely) i hit my knees and it hurts like a bitch. So i recommend knee pads

  • Considering head injury deaths like Eric Costello's and Casey Raffaelli's - head injury prevention should be taught as part of the learning procedure. Wearing a helmet ought to be part of any training video.

  • Yes, but you can never be careful, there is no guarantee. I always wear a helmet personally. Some people laugh at it, but I just say "Don't come crying to me when you bust your head open."

  • that really helps thanks guys! hey where can i get a cheap pair of slide gloves that aren't crap?

  • if u want some good sliding wheels get sector 9 slide formula wheels there pretty good

  • I've got S9 A-frame, its go a kicktail, and I use some No Skoolz 88a I think, can I do it with that setup?

  • You can do it with basically any setup.

  • can i do this on my arbor long board, with 70mm, 78a wheels ?

  • yeah but its not gonna be as easy as a wheel like 90a-101a but hey at least you can do it.

  • You're an idiot.

  • You'd be right, if you weren't so wrong.

  • first, your a big cunt, second powerslides go all the way around

  • yeah and it's called a check slide like a "speed check" your the ignorant cunt.

  • the "big cunt" on the right side is sergio yuppie, one of the best slide skaters out there.

  • do you need alot of speed?

  • you need about 12 mph at slowest if u wanna do it right

  • try getting slider wheels like gravity super sliders

  • i have a c4c and i i am sure that i cant do this with that board but my bro have a flexdex slalom and i cant do it neither i can do check slides with the slalom???

  • well flexdex is wack period

    get some new boards

  • Every time I try this, my board doesn't turn at all and I just fall to the ground.

  • that hapens to me to.

  • get harder wheels

  • me too

  • I'm always afraid I'm gonna slide too much and land on my back when I try these. Great video, it helped me a lot!

  • Gravity rules, sector 9 drools.

  • wow
