yes, i bet flo and eddy were perfectly straight during their tenure with the genius.........no joints happening there, straight as a doorknob......boy, isn't making fun of doctor johns gris gris man fun to listen to....so funny.....better than robin williams.......a true genius....his instrumental passages are very complicated -- it takes a fully aware sense of logic to play that.......genius of geniuses......better than the rest.

Can anyone reccommend a Zappa album to listen to first? I've listened to Cheap Thrills and loved it but only realised that it was a complication of songs from previous albums.

@04callwilk1 "Strictly commercial" is easy listening concerning Zappa. A good introduction. Furthermore I recommend for "beginners" the "Apostrophe" or "Joe's garage".If it's to hard for you than you are not born for Zappa.Make a try!

@04callwilk1 @Shulijapan 's propositions are great, but if you want to have wider spectrum of Zappa's music try also at the begining: Hot Rats, Zoot Allures, Absolutely Free, Guitar, Over-Nite Sensation. In my opinion best albums were recorded before 80's.

@04callwilk1 Joe's Garage...THE definitive entry level Frank Zappa album. Its got pretty much everything you need to know about his style on there. After that, look at Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation and Sheik Yerbouti. The rest is at your own discretion as to how far of a fan you wish to be.
