This is stupid. Shame on UC Davis. A dog is just like any other animal. When you go to the zoo, what are the vets feeding these wolves and lions? Are they eating real meat or are they eating factory processed food? As humans, we try to eat natural real food as much as possible and try to avoid factory processed food, why don't we do the same for our dogs?
@Wtflolyay yes, I am pretty sure my oldest dog died from dog food allergies. He was just dead one morning with o indication f how but he had not been keeping weight on very successfully. He was only 8 years old, I was devastated then when I started reading about commercial dog food it clicked that that was probably what killed him.
My dogs eyes swelled up and he broke out in hives after feeding him Hills Science, I put all my dogs straight on to a raw food diet after that, they poo less, it smells less, they look healthier and it is cheaper as they eat less because its all real food. Who is paying this woman to spout this rubbish. I often see wild dogs in the supermarkets buying their commercial poison in a can, haha.
@Evilenterprizez Dog food is crap! I put my pugs onto prey model raw after having to see one of them suffer from seizures every two weeks and have wet, red stained faces and rotten breath! Theyre in amazing health now. No seizures, fresh breath, clean teeth, glossy coats, clean dry faces :)!
Crap! Grain is used to fatten livestock for slaughter. Even wild vegetarians do not have access to huge quanities of grain. Obesity, diabetes, dental, heart & urinary disease, allergies and cancer are on the increase. A real food diet promotes health and longevity. Pet food, including vet recommended science diet has been recalled many times, but yet still pushed by vets as a health food. There are few regulations and "balance" is a made up term to scare people.
That "nutritionist" doesn't know what she talking about. 1, there are thousands upon thousands of scientific studies wrote about how beneficial raw food is. 2, Dogs do not digest grains. 3, cooked food is not good for your pet. 4, the formulated and balanced is a bunch of bull. Did you know that when they say dog food is formulated and balanced all that means is that 6 out of 8 dog have to live on that food for 2 weeks? So 2 dogs can die and its still ok for your pet.
yea most of these vets sell the dog food in there office healthy dogs would hurt there business my dog died last summer because of commercial food I will never feed my dogs there poison ever again my dogs are way more healthy now and its cheaper to cook it your self I feed them real chicken and beef real food they lie to us greedy:(

well, I don't believe all that junk.
I feed my dog's healthy fresh food.
Fresh meat, fresh bones, organs, fish.
All raw and they like it very much.
Also they get many other ingrediënts, but it's all fresh or shortly cooked.
